  1. The chain tensioner mounting on some 300's was hung a braket attached to the rear engine mounting. As I remember it was 2 hexagonal extensions about 1.5" long with bracket on the end. I had a similar problem when rebuilding a 300 a few years back.

Can anyone confirm the colour of the yellow gripper as RAL 1018 (zinc yellow). Attached is a photo of my yellow gripper. It's actually a 350 but had brand new yellow 250 tank/seat unit fitted during refurb in 1991. Hadn't been used since, when I bought it last year. I have used it most weekends so it's looking a bit more tired now cosmetically. am going to recoat all the yellow bits next winter. My local powder coating firm has RAL 1018. looks identical.
  5. Contact Bill Pye at Frankfield Fantic. He has Pistons, gaskets & just about everything else for the 301. Pistons kits are expensive. Over

They are coming up for sale because of the extremely high prices that are being paid by some people recently are encouriging people sell while the going is good. I would sell a 20 year old TLR 250 for over

That's correct. It's a poly tank painted. My 340 tank has been painted for over 2 years now without a single blister in the paint. I treated bare plastic to a coating of adhesion promoter then painted with Speis Hecker two-pack primer and topcoat. Previously I had tried acrilic and cellulose based paints but they quickly blistered. The only problem I do have is with slight blistering of the decals.

Vesty's last Bult I think? Note the unusual exhaust & very low swing arm pivot.

  15. The kickstart on pre-2005 bikes are a weak point. Mine broke easily. If you replace the kick starter make sure that you get one off a 2005 bike as they are forged instead of cast.
  16. see barnett plates on ebay . They delivered me 2 sets to the UK for $20. Arrived 3 days after the order! As quick as ordering in UK. You can also buy direct, cutting out ebay which makes them slightly cheaper. See hugh's bultaco index page
  17. I have had the same problem with the clutch take up being too sharp on my 340 Sherpa 199B. I have tried everything, but have now bought a set of Barnett composite clutch plates from the USA to replace the original all steel ones. I have not used the bike with them in yet as I'm currently rebuilding the engine. I will be trying it out at the weekend. Has anyone else tried the Barnett plates?
