  1. A higher number of sections ridden over fewer laps (as you say 3 x 13 rather than 4 x 10) will give less queues as more riders can be in sections simultaneously. In terms of splitting up the entry then I would choose to do it by the route ridden; all the A route guys at section 1, all the B routers at section 6 for example. This makes life easier for everyone including the observer.
  2. Did anyone ever discover the indoor coverage on Eurosport? The supposed time for the Sheffield event turned out to be a snooker match. I've not heard anything since.
  3. Radlaty, I've got a 2002, 200 it suits me fine for riding club trials & pulling my 10 stone (63Kg) around. I find its not all revs like a 125, but has got some bottom end. Mind you it does respond to a good twist of the throttle. I mix 15cc of oil to a litre of super unleaded which is 66.7:1. I run it on Castrol TTS though have used others in the past & think any good quality 2 stroke oil will be fine. For the gearbox use a lightweight 10/40 oil; 400cc if you are just draining & refilling. I believe that you need 450cc if you are splitting the cases for any reason. My last fill up was with Silkolene, a choice driven by the shelf of my local bike shop. This oil seems fine, the clutch does drag when its first started from cold if the bike has stood for a while. But show me a trials bike that doesn't. The usual trick of a few revs in a high gear will sort it out. I assume you've spotted the drain plug just below the gear lever & the filler just above the water pump casing. Bit messy as there's nowhere for the oil to drain out so lay it on its side over an old container - the washing up bowl should see you alright! Most of all, enjoy it.
  4. I've just been watching some of the rider interviews on the indoor trials website & couldn't help but notice that James Dabill has started to emulate Doug's habit of speaking to Spanish interviewers in pigeon English. Is this Jake's careful coaching or an attempt to be more Spanish for the audience & the indoor sections?
  5. It must be one of the BBC Kickstart programmes, late '70's.
  6. The indoortrial website has a feature that describes a weekly show at 5pm (UK time I believe) every Thursday. So find your video recorder manual & set it for weekly record...
  7. I'd happily endorse the Old Mine as decent venue. The thing about the place is that it gives an organiser scope to set out hard / easy and tight / open sections as they see fit. I've also ridden a few Dudley trials and found them pretty good events. Dabster, you mention Burycliffe and Bracken Rocks practice venues. I'm just getting back into things after a couple of years mainly off the bike, do you have contact details or directions for these venues. Presumably they are 100% legal. Neil
  8. John D's Trials Tourque column also has a piece on Ben riding Beta, but no comment on who will mind for Doug. Sticking with Martin & Amos for the world rounds & Amos at Sheffield maybe?
  9. This is an interesting one, Doug has publicy stated he will not ride the Britsh Championship due to the rule difference with the World rounds. Perhaps this will change his mind? I certainly hope so...
  10. The fantic website is here http://www.fanticmotor.it/fantic2005/homep05.asp There is an English option on the front page but it doesn't work so brush up your Italian!
  11. It is sad to see Trialsworld fold, but I did feel that a bit of momentum was being lost in the last couple of editions. Our immediate desire for results, news & regs. is satisfied by Trials Central & TMX. which means TW had to offer something different, which to a point it did. But face it, trials is a pretty small sport so after you've tested all of the bikes (& we are only interested in reading this for the 2-3 months of the year when new models are launched) then interviewed the 4 best riders in the world, 2 best in Britain, FIM President & Montesa team boss, where do you go? A profile of the 12th best rider in the world? It's not really going to get the juices flowing is it. As a trials fan I am sad to see it go, but I know I wouldn't invest my money in launcing a YOU HAVE USED WORDS OR A PHRASE WHICH ARE NOT PERMITTED ON THIS WEBSITE. PLEASE DELETE YOUR POST/TOPIC. DO NOT TRY TO CIRCUMVENT THE FILTERS IN PLACE ON THIS WEBSITE, so why should I expect anyone else to?
  12. Does anybody know is they will be letting dogs into Hawkstone on Sunday?
