.....wahey...I must have been a good boy this year 'cos I got a rear tyre from the in-laws and an iridium plug from my next-door neighbours

Are you lost?? This is Beta land........OOOOH it's dark in here !!
  4. Merry Xmas trials people
  5. More Jimmy Carr.. My girlfriend used to get upset because I left the toilet seat up. So, I don't do that anymore; I put it down. But there's no winning with her. Now she gets annoyed because it's covered in p*55! When does Sadam Hussein have his supper? When Tariq Aziz! Why did H kill himself? Because G had My own... The Mackem kids next door have challenged me to a water fight so I thought I'd type this message while my kettle boiled!
  6. Oddly enough this whole topic started because I was stuck in a muddy drop with a riding buddy (with a 4RT and loads more skill than me) and we couldn't get a decent launch. So I tried the technique for the first time ever (3rd,big revs, loadsa clutch) and hooked up sweetly ....it was pure 1st timers luck and I knew it .... no matter how many times I was asked to repeat it, I wouldn't risk going back down to get stuck again. Edit:- I need to clarify... I'm not on about 'burning-down' for grip here.

Yup (I've had 4 Shercos),more than 2 prods then there's something wrong...especially if you do the clutch free-up like Cope says as you will also be priming the bore at the same time.
  8. Problems? There were two brand new Rev 4s up here (early models) that had leakage problems cylinder/cylinder-head? and Beta had to change the studding/bolts?
  9. Copey, to us Brits that comment is funnier than some of these Kenny jokes He must be on Wiki, for a comedian he was a great magician and for a magician he was a great comedian!! R.I.P. Tommy. Wayne
  10. ****WARNING **** TC JOKE POLICE****** Post No.10 (by THE ADDICT) of this thread has been duplicated !! ...but bearing in mind I'm a huge Tommy Cooper fan...we'll let you off this time..
  11. Getting out of my street today would be enough of a challenge.
  12. ham2 replied to jordi's topic in Sherco
I'm guessing that his persistent 'waivering' is the reason there is no 2009 Cabestany Replica. Sherco played safe and named it type R (or summat?). Imagine naming a special edition bike after a rider who can't commit to it
  13. ham2 replied to jordi's topic in Sherco
I wondered what effect the 100+ degree bend in the air intake would have??? Just supposition you understand
  14. Just looking for a bike to compensate for my lack of skill....back to MotoMerlin...I have bought a couple of vids from him before and the transaction was faultless.
  15. ham2 replied to yeoblade's topic in Beta
I don't believe you ,show me a video . So am I right in thinking that West Country Windings let you down?
  16. Only got Xmas day off (officially) but I'm trying to sort out some peg-time.....If you think I need tuition for riding in the mud , I can't see how I'm gonna manage in the snow an ice?
  17. ham2 replied to toofasttim's topic in Anything goes
Were you just tired of peacock and swan?
  18. ham2 replied to hairyharry's topic in Beta
C'mon Nige..I've asked you before ; When you get some time over the holidays, will you write up a critique of your new steed in comparison to previous bike???
  19. Slightly off topic but if you click on the related videos of the Colmore cup; those Evos seem to be making that big greasy hill climb look easy.
  20. I'm a below, joe-average clubman rider:- I do like the 250... a lot..it's a tad underpowered for my weight but not my ability??!! If that makes sense. The 280 is just mad (the pro's Pro), too much for me....yet I have ridden a 280 with a 10? (errr 1 less than standard?) tooth front sprocket and that killed (performance-wise) the bike all together...horrible. The only 300 I rode was a (silver plastics) 2004? model which was quite numb in it's power delivery, what you'd call a 'rock-spitter'. I have heard that the newer 300s aren't like that now. But to answer the first line of your original question: Because ....I bet the 250 is easier to sell on
  21. You want to see that rear shock get really tested, don't you ?
  22. ham2 replied to yeoblade's topic in Beta
    C'mon, c'mon it's nearly D-day..what's happening??
  23. A Yorkshireman (same one) was barred from his local, accused of the sexual harassment of the new busty barmaid . He protested his innocence: ....All I said was... '' I would love two liqueurs?''
  24. A Yorkshireman can't get any comfort for his 'Farmer-Giles' so he goes down to the local convenience store and says to the girl behind the counter: ''Ay up lov, d' tha have any ar5e cream? The girl replies: ''Yes Sir, would tha' like a cornetto or Haagan daas ?
  25. Great explanation, right on the money
