  4. Totally aggree with JTT. Its the front axle that counts.
  5. Got them clean with brasso wodding. Thanks for the tip Gav, I tried after Gaby's suggestion. All the rust has gone and I've added some car body rust treatment stuff to the spokes. There is small areas on each spoke that has the chrome treatment damage and these areas are rusting. Thinking about painting on some clear lacquer on them. What do you all think?
  6. Thanks Gaby, got a feeling I won't be able to get it in the uk though.
  7. Got some rust sneaking in on my spokes, god damn road salt!! Can any one offer some advice on the best way of dealing with it. I'm worried that if I start going at it with sandpaper it will remove any of the good chrome around the rust.
  8. My Scorpa's got pre-load adjustment, I also know the Montesa has too. Can't speak for the others.
  9. Don't know where you can ride but there's a shop in Newton Abbot called On Any Sunday. Number is 07703 357260. When I was down in the summer (my parents live in Brixham) I also found a bike shop in Totnes that had loads of pre 65 bikes in. I can get the phone number from the old boy if you want. I usally go back to Devon once a year, maybe next year I could bring my bike and meet up?
  10. What? He had time to eat a REALLY hot curry?
  11. My best bit of advice with regards to insurance is to go to the hassle of registering your bike. Its a fairly simple process and cost's
  12. Smaller on the front or larger on the back will increase acceleration but decrese top speed, i.e. you'll run out of rev's quicker. Larger on front and smaller on back will give better top end but reduce pick up. Only change the front by one tooth. You may want to try 3-6 on the back?
  13. I would make the effort to try and come. It must be about 350 miles for me? I'm sure I could make a long weekend of it, might even try and persude monty-python too.
  14. Sent an e mail to the address for Billy T, lets see what happens!
  15. I think Alpinestars are great. There comortable and I've had no problems. They do let the water in though but I wear a pair of Gortex socks and this stops the water gettin to me. They must be ok if Dougie's using them eh?
  16. I did have billys e mail, we sent each other a couple of e mails sometime ago. Lost it though, it was stored on the bt web site and when I returned home from Canada some month or so sgo I deleted it. Whoops!
  17. I'm with ishy. The post was/is about the possibilty of a trials central trial. There was one last year under the TA banner and I'd have loved to have attended but the distance put me off.
  18. Just wondering what tweeks you have done to the suspension? I'm thinking of adding some pre-load to the rear, my bike tends to sump out a lot. Mind you, I am a fat git so that may have something to do with it?
  19. My Raleigh Grifter was easy!!
  20. Just wondering if there are any plans for a trials central trial?
  21. From what I've heard its not a trial in the sense of a licenced trial. I belive that some of the mx boys from Grampian MCC have got trials bikes and they are having a play on the 28th. Not trying to promote anything and perhaps I used the wrong phrase with "fun trial". All I ment from the post was that there would be some riders at Woodside if anybody had a free day on the 28th. Sorry for the confusion!
