    Reed Petals

Having a few problems with a 03 125. Difficult to start, especially when warm and left for a few minutes, and lacking in bottom end grunt and general power. Goes with a push with very little effort. No smoke. Engine sounds to be 'labouring' a little. Inspection of reed valve suggests the one flange in not closing properly. What symptons could I expect with this scenario.
  3. Hi we run the Breidden Hills club based in Shrewsbury. We use venues that are not reliant on the weather and offer suitable hard car park/paddock areas. We have trials planned for 5th March / 8th April / 11th June / 6th August / 1st October. Our two main venues are Nantmawr Quarry Nr Oswestry and Old Grit Farm Nr Minsterley, both within easy reach of yourself. Have a look at our website www.breiddenhillsmcc.co.uk
  4. Scott. They work really well. Longer unit than the standard rubber. Easier to get seat unit/airbox on. Cost about
  5. Thanks for your thoughts boys. We have been using the York Survey flags quite succesfully mainly by bending bottom of wire and weighting them but they do tend to swivel and move. Keep the ideas coming.
  6. I am looking for a section flag marker system to use on hard venues like quarries and loose rock where a wooden stick cannot be used. Anyone any ideas and where such items could be found / made. Needs to be transportable, durable and water resistant.
  7. Andy - Looks great, can't wait to see it in action. Hell of a workshop setup as well in the background!
  8. Found a possible from Totalshell in answer to another question. I will try the lie on side / fill carb chamber trick.
  9. Here is the problem. Son stopped his 125 03 at start of a section whilst waiting in turn. This was towards end of trial with no suggestions of problem with bike up to that point. No missing, no fluffing, was starting first kick. Kicked it to get going again and nothing. Got back to workshop. We have spark (not the brightest but consistent). Kill button works OK. No loose wires anywhere. Stripped carb and rebuilt. Still no response from engine. Tried the Gas Gas jerk (put in gear and rock). No go. Anybody any ideas

    Norton

Gazer great bikes. Is the Norton tested and would you be interested in selling the registration number HOM 99.
  11. Very well put adsy. We do have a crop of the best Youth riders in the world at the moment. How many times over the last few years have we been able to boast that ! The object of this debate was to open up for some comments and boy has it stirred up some comments. Keep up the great work you are doing Trials Central :hat:
  12. Marky G. In answer to your question reference our companies (Atom Ant and my own) sponsoring Youth trials / trials in general the answer is YES WE DO . This last year between us we have stumped up a quite considerable sum of our own money to help local trials club (s) as well as backing the World Round at Hawkstone which we will again in 2006.We are putting our money where our mouth is, not because of any gain in business revenue from advertising our product but because we passionatly believe in trials and especially the youth sector which is where tomorrows stars and organisers will come from.
  13. By the way, after my last comment, great debate folks - keep it up. Also many thanks John Collins - what a nice sensible chap on the inside at the ACU
  14. Andy very well said. Ian (AtomAnt) has only recently returned to the trials scene like myself after many years building up our own sucessfull businesses and families and the guy is so dedicated and passionate it is unreal ! His input is incredable and, like myself we see the future in the kids. We ride on a weekly basis with probably 30-40 of the nicest kids you could wish to meet. To see their riding improve week in week out is a pleasure. As for money what the heck is the problem with you guys. You spend circa
  15. To try and explain a few simple facts to r2wtrials and like minded riders. The whole point in having a trials registration (or 'licence')is that with that simple exceedingly cheap to obtain piece of card comes all important third party insurance cover at all trials you enter. From an organisers point of view we are held responsible should any accidents to other people (spectators etc) or damage to fences, vehicles etc occur during a trial. So long as riders who enter the events have a trials registration card these eventualities are covered by the ACU under the permit that is granted for that event. All very boring for you lads who want a cheap thrash around the hills but non the less essential for those of us who put our names on official documents and are held responsible whilst you enjoy yourself. Food for thought and please give a thought to the wider picture and for Gods sake GET A LICENCE. I will even do it for you if you let me have your details !
  16. I,m looking for a 247 engine to slot into an original frame. circa 1973 vintage. Anyone got one they are willing to part with. Gearbox problems on the original unit.
  17. I feel bikespace is heading in the right direction with his comments. Trials is all about observing a riders skill at controlling a motorcycle over rough terrain. The kids love the hoping, skipping etc and it is great to watch. Going backwards is a skill. How many people can remember Jarvis at Hawkstone on the Scorpa a few years ago. Top of an awseome climb, throttle cable breaks and goes back down, backwards, total control, feet up talking to Rat at the bottom ! Whichever way we go lets do something, get in written down with no grey areas and all enjoy our Sundays without the constant nagging problem of 'unfair' observing.
  18. Results from South Shropshire trial are up on http://www.breiddenhillsmcc.org
  19. Now you have the mudguard why not splash out on the rest of the bike and get yourself one of those lovely Sherco thumpers. Would suit your riding style and dare I say it would probably carry the weight easier !
  20. Stu follow it up with results, full report and pics on http://www.breiddenhillsmcc.org Should be a picture on this evening in gallery of your goodself. Hows that for an organisation. Spread the good word.
  21. My personal opinion is that we are observing a riders skill. Balancing whilst stopped, hopping sideways and even reversing whilst on the pegs are all skills that a lot of us do not posess. Within reason allowing these exercises to take place would make observing easier but we would need some easily policed form of time limit per section to stop lads taking all day to get through. The 'has he stopped / did he roll backwards' scenario happens every weekend and causes a lot of problems.Sections need not be made any harder but it would mean a more competent rider could choose a different route through a section.
