I'm about 160 miles north east of the Fort...the Highlands is a big place, y'know! My knowledge of the Fort is limited to getting from the Milton to the Parc Ferme and back again, so can't even pretend to be local!
-
Hmmmm....nothing like passing the buck!!
Only ever being in the Fort for one week a year, I'm no expert but that to me looks like Loch Eil coming down into Loch Linnhe, in which case the 'white area' is out by Corpach, and the rest of the Fort is hidden by that little hill in front.
I'll leave it to the locals to put you right if I'm talking nonsense!

Just got last police approval in - one last regulatory body to get through and that's them ready. They'll be on the SSDT website as soon as they're available.
-
Tommy's a real trooper - he's well up in his nineties now and hasn't been at all well this year, but he's STILL planning on coming up the road for the week this year...his only concession is that he's getting a lift!
-
Just to throw a spanner in the works, there's 48 first-timers riding this year...
-
Nae chance - it's MINE!!!
-
Needs to be between 11.30pm and 7am for me...any night of the week will do though!
-
For those of you who don't read the regs....
There's thirty places assigned to the factories (they each get a guaranteed six places) and fifty places set aside for the club to allocate at their discretion. The rest go into the ballot.
These eighty places tend to go to the same / similar riders every year, and then there will be some in the other 190 that get through the ballot more often than others. It's called Sods Law.
It's no great mystery - it's all in the regulations, which are publised on the SSDT website.
-
Quick question for you...why drop the last 30 finishers and leave the 40 that didn't finish at all...?!
-
Yup - they're going to make sure that there's plenty supplies available so no need to worry about that!
-
OTH will be able to confirm, but I'm sure the YOU HAVE USED WORDS OR A PHRASE WHICH ARE NOT PERMITTED ON THIS WEBSITE. PLEASE DELETE YOUR POST/TOPIC. DO NOT TRY TO CIRCUMVENT THE FILTERS IN PLACE ON THIS WEBSITE plates have been tried and tested through an SSDT already and held out no problems.
There'll be plenty spares available in the Parc Ferme anyway...

Or both, and my illiteracy doesn't just limit itself to computers?
-
As I said, computer illiterate.
Does that mean the site's fine or that Firefox is rubbish?
-
Now, now Vinnie! You're only going to give yourself a headache with all that carrying on!
What platform are you using? And is anyone else having problems? Drop us a note on ssdtoffice@ssdt.org if you are and let us know what your set up is. Can't do a thing myself, being completely computer illiterate, but I can get the info to the man who knows!
-
Thank you! I was getting myself all confused trying to work out links!
-
Panic time indeed! Just checked the figures and there's nearly 100 riders who haven't paid up yet....the guys on the reserve list will be smiling next week at this rate!
-
-
-
Ssshhh...I'm going for the sympathy vote.
-
The riders have to have paid their entry fees by Friday 24th February, so the numbers should be done by the first weekend in March. It may be sooner than that - it all depends how easy it is to identify all the payments into our bank account, how quickly we can get unpaid places reallocated to the reserve riders and how much time I have to do that outside my real job.
-
I'm sorely tempted to keep you all guessing, but that'll only get me into trouble.
The Scorpa Factory entry has been filled by someone that had already got through the ballot, so there's no big name going to be appearing on the next listing...sorry!
That'll have put paid to the Freixa rumours....

-
You ain't seen his driving yet...
-
And how are you expecting them to come up with all this extra funding for youth riders AND give you freebies?!
