See there is a Classic Sporting Trial starting at 4.30 on the Saturday. Now that should be fun !!
  2. At the weekend had a great time with my 13 year old son. Him on his BSA Bantam and me on the BSA C15 at the Somerton Classic two day trial. Great fun, a great event and great people - extra bonus the sun shone all weekend.
  3. Sorry to hear your story, ours is very different. I took my 13 year old for his first ever trial on his BSA Bantam and found Somerton Classic MCC who ran 3 beginners trials. The best thing ever, very helpful club members who helped him at ever section and came and talked to him. He loved it and we have now done the third and final event and he is hooked. The club run a 'C' route at events for him and others who just want to ride or are no good - yes, like his Dad. Come down for a weekend and do their events. Bath Classic MCC also do the same. The Classic and Twinshock clubs seem to understand what riders want. Hope your son comes back for more.
  4. Buy a full running engine, it will save you a lot of time and money, sell the bits you have. Upgrade engine when you have funds, but start riding a standard 175cc 4 speed engine.
  5. Not hard to see why enties are always full, great event and sunshine !!
  6. The Somerton classic club put on a trial today for beginners and returners. I took the chance to take my 13 year old son to ride his first ever event on his BSA Bantam, we had a great day. I can not say a big enough thank you to the club and observers who were so helpful and encouraging to him. You have another new trial rider, he want to come back to the next event. Thank you to everybody and hope the frost bite was not too bad. This just the sort of investment into the sport we need and nice to see people who give something back. (I am not a member of this club, but I think they will have a new junior member soon)
