  1. It is best to call them. They could use some work on email responses.

    280I Info

I forgot to mention I needed to replace the AAA rechargeable battery in the Easystart box. It was about shot, but another was cheap and easy to fine. Made it better.

    280I Info

I have. 14 Explorer (same bike with extras) 142 hours- great! See my recent post, but I trail ride mostly so perhaps some different impressions. A hotter plug and a good kick results in quick, easy starting. I did have to set the TPS at about 100 hours. It was running rich and harder to start. Mark
  4. I have not had anything like that experience. Bike has been great and only one part took a bit to get. And I think that was just because nobody else had broken that one. I understood parts were worse after thenGasGas deal. But seems getting better. I certainly hope they keep going- they are great bikes. Mine Is very well built- fit and finish is excellent and everything (except fuel cap) is top notch. I have 142 hours on it- still runs great (see my posts). I'd probably try and get a 15- but are they here?
  5. I tried regular mineral oil and that was too thick and held bubbles. I bought some Motorex mineral clutch fluid, bled it in a few minutes and still working great. Mark
  6. Update. 142 hours. Still having a blast on the bike. It has been very good. Around 100 hours I did need to reset the TPS- it was running rich and herder to start. A reset solved it. I broke a suspension link- but my fault. A few things I've learned. 1. I run a hotter plug, works much better. 2. Run A mud flap over the spark arrester (aftermarket). Mud will clog it otherwise. 3. Keep an eye on the fitting in the top of the main fuel tank cap. It can leak. 4. Fuel cap is still crap. 5. Clake 2 is fantastic! 6. Fit the trials brake pedal stock is horrible. 7. 100:1 Motorex has worked great. 8. Zip tie the one corner of the side covers, they won't fall off and it works fine. 9. Clean/lube rear suspension fairly often in the mud. 10. Keep an eye on the kick start screws. 11. Michelin x-11 Tubless with the Tubliss system works fantastic. 12. Check and replace AAA rechargeable batt in Easystart box. Loads of fun!
  7. I run 100:1 Motorex full synth. About 105 hours so far.
  8. I run those same risers on my Explorer. Much nicer for long trail rides. I did install a longer throttle cable, but I'm also using Twisted Engineering flex bars. Barnett should have the number.
  9. It is there on my Explorer. Let me take a look and see if I can find where the sensor is located, then you can see if you have it.

    2014 Factory R

Sounds great! Keep me posted. Do you have a copy of the manuals? I can send them to you. Mark

    2014 Factory R

It would be nice if the factory could get him more bikes. From what I understand almost all are pre-ordered or sold quite rapidly. I rode a TR300 that had the factory upgrades. Definately snappier power (even on the 'soft' power setting) over my 280 Explorer and the TR280 I've ridden. I liked the suspension also (rather short ride). I've changed my Explorer to an Ohlins from the TR- too much money but much improved. I would have liked to order it with the full TR suspension- but was in too big of a hurry. I think it should be a standard option. Mark
  12. I don't have any good tips (a heat gun on the hub may help) but I understand there is an upgrade kit to change to a full bearing like the later bikes. Mark
  13. Keep an eye on the Lewisport page for a new, reasonably priced option. I head that hopefully in 2-3 weeks. When I get it, I'll post up full details. Mark
  14. So Vipr, how do they compare?

    Help 2011 Tr280I

The Isis chains are pretty bad. I'd ditch the whole chain and get a decent one. As mentioned above, the gearbox breather should be extended up near the headstock. Run full synth oil and change it a lot. Mark
  16. For the OSSA, I would get a 2014 instead of a 2013. Many big improvements. I've been very happy with my OSSA Explorer (same basic bike as the TR). Mark
  17. Any tips for removing the old ones? I changed out a couple of the rocker arm bushes, the 2nd side is easy- 1st a bit of a hassle. I couldn't grab it with a bearing puller and get it to slide out. Mark
  18. Did you get exactly what you need? I have my swingarm off and could take any view you want (including video)
  19. Thanks! I just got a call from Lewisport, they have souced one for me and I should have it shortly. I guess things are still settling out after the merger with GasGas. They really worked hard to get the part quickly. Mark
  20. I'll look through my pics I took when got the bike to make sure. Here is one of a new 1974 Phantom- looks like a low gloss rear hub. I sure thought the later bikes were flat or satin.
  21. I recall the Phantoms of that year had flat black hubs. I had a MAR NOS hub floating around for yeas- it was either flat or satin black. I think I sold it a few years ago-but it was long enough ago I don't actually remember!
  22. Ok, I broke one of the 'Dogbones' in my rear linkage. It is the new type with a bolt. After a lot of thinking, it probably was my fault. I think when I lubed it last time there was still silicone grease in the threads. So the locktite couldn't hold- the bolt backed out and must have jammed against the swingarm, breaking the shaft. The too much for one side still left when I hopped over something. Anyway, the dealer ordered the part, but OSSA sent the wrong one! There appears to be a mixup with the part numbers in the manual. So...does anyone know where one may be? They are going to try and get one, but I'm looking also. Please let me know. Mark
  23. I sent a message to Lewissport about the cables, but have not gotten a response for price or avaliability. If they give the software with it, then that is great! Mark
  24. I don't think so, and I have not been able to get a price here either.
