  3. Hi again, I've uploaded some more footage, this time of the Old Codgers Trial 2005 once again held at Hungry Hill near Aldershot. I've had tp split into three parts as You Tube will only allow 10 minute maximum file lengths. It's a lot more comprehensive than the Talmag stuff. Once again, enjoy the sight and sound of some lovely old classics in action... well the sight at least as the audio seems to have somehow escaped.. grr...   5. Hi odgie Quality website mate - I laughed and laughed at some of the yarns and pics of broken motors!! Then I realised, I have some video footage of you riding the C11 in the 2000 Pre-65 Scottish complete with running commentary.   6. Came across this picture of SM riding 786 GON in the 1962 John Douglas trial. I thought I should add it to the gallery.
  7. I've never seen one. All the Bullets I've seen have had a standard looking rear subframe. I have occasionaly seen Bullet engines shoe horned into lighter smaller RE Continental 250 frames. Perhaps that's the way to go? HTH

  9. Looked at Falcons. Nice but pricey for my current needs. NJB ones with the universal bearings at each end are a nice idea, but completely untested AFAIK. Betors were a good compromise of price and quality and I've seen them around on plenty of other 250cc machines, so I went with those in the end. Cheers
  10. Re: the picture of the carb and filter. You do realise that the choke is closed in that position? That wouldn't help. Just wondering at it appears to be in the same position in the other pics as well.
  11. Miller supply them. Cost = an arm and a leg. They also supply fibre glass ones that look just as good IMO and are in some ways more prctical. They only cost an arm and half a leg.
  12. Hello Welcome aboard. No need to rebuild wheels There's a guy that sells 19" trials tyres on Ebay for 30 quid each. He has some on there at the moment. Do a search for Item number: 8069837118 "NEW TRIALS TYRE, 2.75 X 19". He may be able to supply wider ones for the rear. Good luck. UB
  13. Ok, the Otter/C15 is almost complete to the point where I can start riding it. One thing I need to do is replace the cheap NJB shocks that I've been using as 'place holders' for something a little better - I'm thinking a pair of Betors or similar. Does anyone have anything suitable knocking about? or can anybody offer any suggestions/advice as to where I can get something reasonably competative for a sensible price? Cheers UB
  14. Boyer ignition has no advance/retard and is always fully advanced - or so I was told. PVL is far superior in this respect.
  15. Ok - 'cheap' multigrade it is then. I think I'll go for the 'green' stuff that is designed for 'older' engines. Basically similar to the old Duckams 20/50. Next up - gearbox oil. What do people put in there? The same oil as in the engine or thicker gear oil, say 50 grade? Cheers UB

  17. do people use in their unit BSA C15 B40 Cub engined mounts? Monograde or multigrade? Mineral or castor based? I'm thinking of running mine on Castrol R40 as recommended to me but I'm not sure if this is overkill or not for trials (as opposed to scrambles or grrasstrack). Also have people fitted external oil filters? If so, what and where did you mount it? Any help/pearls of wisdom appreciated. Cheers, Rob.

  19. OTF - blimey you are having a lot of problems with your frame. All the lugs and brackets on mine are exactly where they should be and there are certainly no problems such as wheel spindle lugs being different sizes?!? Both the Cub hub I first fitted and the Rickman one I subsequently fitted go in with no clearance problems, and the chainguard and silencer mounting brackets are exactly where they should be. Nothing needed altering at all and all we needed to add were some additional small lugs to mount the seat. Other people that have helped with putting the bike together have all been very complimentary about the quality of construction so I can only assume you somehow got yourself a substandard item. Perhaps it depends on who actually does the fabricating and I got lucky. Who knows? Anyway, sounds like you have it sorted now Have you fitted any kind of oil filter to yours? If so what did you use and where did you mount it? Cheers. Rob.

  21. "I assume the person you bought the PVL off had already slotted the rotor?" Nope - hence the problem. Hmmm... Do you know anyone that could slot the rotor for me?
  22. Just fitted PVL to my C15 engine. I have yet to try to run the beast, but I'm allmost there. Keeping the rotor in place while you tighten the nut is a real challenge. How did you stop yours from rotating on the shaft?
