  1. So true. Why don't we just follow manufacturers specs?
  2. My heart is screwed, I have Angina/Cardiac Syndrome X. I figure the workout I give it has to be good. Better than sitting around watching TV and not moving.
  3. Great Pics HRMAD. I think we all admire your love and dedication to this awesome sport!
  4. Good for you EE! Trials is a great workout and insanely fun. Your heart will likely be very happy with the new exercise.
  5. Don't forget how to turn when you get in there. For some folks suddenly entering a section makes turns go south.
  6. Rick you're lucky man. Keep doing what you're doing- watching vids and riding with experienced riders. And Dan's advice is spot on, practice those turns.
  7. At TTC they run 100-1 and that's what I've always used.
  8. I'm really glad I found trials and this is why... Here's my list! Please add to it, ok?!? Trials is great exercise! Outdoors, and fresh air! No one cares if you're terrible! Immensely challenging! Can practice engine on or off! Bikes (arguably) can run forever! Events are cheap to enter! Trials folks are friendly! Can do trials in any climate! Way safer than most (all?) other forms of motorcycling! I feel lucky to have found trials and all of you on TC, Happy Holidays all
  9. Bucket of warm water and a couple big car washing sponges is best IMO. Don't use high pressure anywhere near the rad or engine.
  10. I have the same bike and you'll get used to it. The slow throttle=good idea.
  11. If there is too much friction, how does one adjust the brake? I believe its AJP. Is the only adjustment at the lever?
  12. Slow it down a bit, get that front wheel compressing and then give it a blip.
  13. Wasn't saying a fatter rider. A heavier rider of similar body comp.
  14. My front brake pads rub slightly on the disc. Is this normal or should it be 100% clear? I spin the wheel with it raised off the ground and there is definitely some friction.
  15. Well it sure helped to add sandbags to the back of the truck to get up icy hills.
  16. Yes! But if you were driving up a very slippery hill wouldn't you want a heavy load in the boot/trunk?
  17. You got me there Nigel, my feeble attempt at an example that failed miserably. Was just trying to point out that in almost all athletics the athlete with the better body composition is the better athlete.
