  1. I was surprised know one took the patent over from moto cinch over it looked really good. htrdoug design looks really good as well was wondering could you shallow up the angle of anchorage a bit more more vertical anchorage from the footpegs down to the floor like moto cinch risk racing devices. was looking at the design and was thinking you could incorporate a female threaded tube and say a nylock nut on the threaded bar after to elemante any chance of it undoing but I am more than likely over complicating it. excellent design though hrtdoug hats off to you bud.
  2. like I said its a project for 12 months down the line I like the idea of the risk racing as they are remevoable plus the junior version I assume would be ideal for trial bikes just need guys to let us know how he goes on with his and his thoughts on the product.. my youngest lad [13] is showing an interest in trialing so will be taking him to an experience day in a month with myself and my eldest son [16] also there is a company in Yorkshire who produce a all aliuminum trailer for less than 3 grand and can customise it to your needs teales in Pontefract.so worth a look for anyone wanting a custom built affordable trailer . seems a good decent trailer but have not found any reviews for it though. http://www.tealeservices.co.uk/trailers/
  3. anyone any experience of using any of these to secure a trial or trials bikes. mainly thinking in the long term in regards to taking bike or bikes to france next summer I know moto cinch the guy passed away who invented it. but as I travel exclusively to france via Belgium overnighter from hull down to burgundy twice a year which can take take 10 hours + with stops I don't want to be stoping checking straps every 25 miles and those of you who have travelled the outer ring roads of paris would tend to agree. was wondering if anyone had used the risk racing set up to transport bikes long distances IE trials bikes.
  4. from what I have read on here I think they compare less with humanoids more with haemorrhoids being a right pain in the @rse to deal with
  5. I respect the guys ang girls at IPT than to do any thing like put cheeky bids in on there bikes anything like that is not my style same as selling the bike or trading in my gassa. my conscious wouldn't allow me to do anything like that. as to be brutally honest if my wife had not purchased me the bike and if the the guys and girls at IPT hadn't shown encouragement patients training me in the first place etc I wouldn't be posting this in the first place. anyways I will wait till Christmas new year and see whats available then beta 200 wise.
  6. I have plans to keep it or hand it down as I do have an emotional attachement to it . to be honest I wish I hadn't been on the bloody thing now I agree in regards to whats ben posted in reply I can only go off my experience I find I will have to throttle to hard on a 125 and have misjudged it it once or twice going up to the the peak of an hill not a pleasant experience for a lifelong warfarin user due to bruising a 250 I know would be or would make more hesitant to throttle up just as bad were as when I used the 200 it was like an example was the bike if I was on a climb the throttle response was a say a couple of clicks and and carried on climbing even if I was slightly heavy handed it didn't try to throw me off or rear up the front wheel . like has been said the price is down to there scaracity but also to them them a bloody good bike as well. one last question can you replicate the characterristics of a 200 beta and replicate onto another bike dumb down a montesa 315r or beta rev250 to be like a 200 . or am I better off just being patient and biding my time [i think so ]
  7. well I will hopefully be moving up to a beta 200 xmas new year time [as this tends to be the best time to buy ] I have a gas gas txt pro 125 pro had it nearly a year and intend keeping it as my wife purchased it for me after my heart surgery . I wont go above the engine size I have thought about a 250 but having ridden a 200 I doubt you could or to be honest can you get a 250 to replicate its mild manner my 125 is aggressive on the throttle compared to a beta 200 . but the million dollar question why are they so expensive compared to there bigger engine brothers or maybe I am answering my own question. even a spares or repair is a grand.mind you after after a couple of hours of riding not only did it behave brilliantly it was like riding on a diesel engine bike without any worry I was not in control going to flip it hurt myself damage the bike etc or worried about stalling it. beta rev 200 it has to be my next bike without a doubt and last they are that good .
  8. I would wait till you get the all clear from your doctors that your sternum has healed then the rest is up to you and the pace at which you go at it. keeping taking the meds and as your only 4 weeks post op don't worry about any niggly pains etc if your worried consult your doctor cardio nurse etc but most of the aches will be down to the healing of muscle tendons nerves etc . it will be worrying early on the dreams will subside pain etc and do your physio get out walking and before you know it you will be back on your bike. I don't know what weight a ty is but even my gassa 125 weighed a ton when first learning to ride just took my time and built my strength up. you have had bypass which requires surgery to remove veins from your legs [which I didn't] so I can not comment on that . but don't worry you will be back on the pegs in min of 6 months I did it and had never ridden a bike and the best thing I did if you can afford to treat your self look to get a 2nd hand modern or borrow a 125 to get you back going again as like I said I can not comment on your ty 175 weight wise compared to my 125 and handling and all that only you know having more experience than me or but for me the point was to enjoy something new learn something new and above all do it in a safe and correct manner without being a liability to others and being considerate .
  9. and you will get backache even 9 months after surgery feels a bit cramp but worse but don't forget they cut through a lot to get to your heart clamp your chest open and put your arms in an unnatural position for about 5 hours. how long ago was your surgery it takes 8 weeks for the breastbone to settle down I couldn't walk the dog till after 8 weeks or drive .thing is do what the doctors tell you complete your physio and above all carry on taking your medication and you will be back riding no worries. you will get post opp aches and pains as everything heals back together I can not comment on the leg wounds as I had valve surgery so Hilary is the best to answer any queries on that avoid when riding as I found out to my cost riding on a meal give yourself at least an hour unless your want severe motion sickness. anything else you want to know ask away but how long ago was your surgery etc were do you live etc what meds are you taking would be a big help. ??
  10. had open heart surgery last year for a dodgy mitral valve I had never ridden a trial bike and fancied doing it went to inch perfect trials for a experience day and as they say the rest is history. the wife bought me a gassa 125 as a treat but now looking to upgrade to a bigger bike after xmas or later fell off a few times but just got back on. did a story for the british heart foundation which is on line and your welcome to read it . the only thing that will stop you riding my friend is yourself .just beaware that I assume like me you are now taking warfarin or its equivelant if so armour up or pad up round the knees elbows etc. PS were are you from which country are you in the uk I would avoid big rocks due to brusing but just get your confidence back and your strength I went trialing 6 month post op and was knackered but fell in love with it. if your in the northwest of England I will gladly meet up with you for a chat or ride [be warned I aint good] or if your worried about anything you can always PMin regards to your surgery recovery rate down dated aches and pains as what you have been through is and I can not emphasis this enough very traumatic. but you should not will not have to sell your bikes just tailor your trailing to your condition .I am back at work and trialing as well
  11. I know they have sold a few of the EM clubman and sportsman at inch perfect trials but as I have never ridden either bike could someone please educate me on the difference. I do know that the owner who has one for his experience days says its very popular and in great demand.
  12. the million dollar question is if everybody is in debt to everybody else and vice versa who the the hell isn't in debt in the first place its like a10+1 people all in a line all owing each other a tenner but the + 1 only has £2 so we start with him lend him £8 but in reality we only give him 10 pence the rest goes back to the other 9 people [the banks] and the vicious circle carrys on except next time we lend him 8 quid we take £7.90pence back plus his fcking telly couch and fridge[nationalised industries]. and so we carry on till we reach a point that joe muggins is sat in an empty house with SFA left to sell still wanting his £ 8 quid wigan take on financial ruin
  13. http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/images/custom/bikes20/large_onzabird2013.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/20_inch_trials_bikes/onza_bird/c10p11939.html&h=649&w=1000&tbnid=vXm0nTgG6arZSM:&zoom=1&docid=hyqbBsSMy1oS-M&ei=eBygVemqEebe7AbSooT4DQ&tbm=isch&ved=0CCEQMygBMAE like one of these I do know of trials riders who use them and they can be picked up cheaply my mate got one for £80 off here but try gumtree ebay etc if your after one .
  14. a bloke went to the doctors with a big frog growing out the side of his head the doctor went OMG how the hell did that start off . and the frog replied as a boil on my fecking ar$e
  15. best of all while cutting money of to the Greek banksthe IMF European banking system they then go and lend money to Bulgaria money to a non EU MEMBER work that out and bordering on illegal.
  16. and just think if it wasn't what for a rogue asteroid they would still be bleeding here.
  17. I only use Greece as an example as its on a whole a European wide problem with maybe them being a catalyst to future events across other European countries who find themselves in the same mess scenario .? and it is not the majority who got Greece in this mess in the first place but its the majority through austerity who have the most to lose through its implementation .
  18. the problem is the trillions borrowed and owed around the world on dodgy Ponzi schemes keeping interest rates artificially at low rates as they can hardly pay the interest on the toxic loans as the banks have lost trillions as well and have and continue to be caught out acting unethicaly been caught out on countless occasions selling add ons paying billions in fines. of course its joe muggins the public who catches the brunt of austerity measures.
  19. I know that Greek government has had a lot of support in regards to its stance on the measures maybe a bit of bum twitching across Europe in light of public anger but my attention switches more towards spain and Italy who also have suffered under austerity and any knock on effect this may have in light of tonights which seems like a resounding no vote . the fact the country received 240billion in bail out money in 4 years but less then 10% actually went to the greek economy with the rest going to European banks and a 40% unemployement rate and predictided austerity till 2030!!!! beggars belief. what has austerity actually achieved.???
  20. in light of early indications looks like the masses have said enough is enough to austerity . and who can blame them in all honesty early predications looks like a big majority for the no vote but what knock on effect will this have across the rest of Europe with other countrys struggling with austerity measures namely Italy Spain Ireland AND france whos leader was voted in on an anti austerity ticket. a few interesting weeks lie ahead.
  21. as a newcomer at the ripe old age of 52 I would say costs bike gear fuel places to ride but trialing is not alone in dwindling numbers as is the case with football rugby cycling running angling especially the match variety. thing is your competing against playstation xbox and this kind of entertainment kids these days and quite a few adults I might add are quite happy to spend there entire free time in front of a 40 telly playing the latest call of duty against there online friends and enemys screaming abuse down a mic and teabagging each other.[a online ritual were one online player pretends to drop his ballbag on a equally fat spotty fool he has just shot in an online game while taunting him] yip online computer gamming the death nell to true enjoyment.
  22. and guess what will happen next poxy daily newspaper exclusive stealth bikes menace WORLD EXCLUSIVE I can just picture it see it now . now I was out walking fido when a group of ruffians sped pass me on there electric trials MX enduro bikes I tell you now I swear on my mothers eyes I never heard um saw um coming gave me the fright of my life and poor fido has never been the same since we are too terrified to too go out I am on to my local MP plod ASAP to sort this out straight away. more to the point what is the law regarding electric bikes etc on the highway common ground ??
  23. the electric V petrol argument is irrelevant I am all for electric bikes but as soon as they become more popular rest assured some git will complain that about them doing as much damage to the environment or having the same impact as standard trial bikes I totally agree electric bikes have a future but don't think they are the be all and end all to certain peoples prejudices to off road biking because they are not and never will be. they are an excellent bike from what I have seen and are for the vast majority of riders a viable alternative .but in the 2nd market they are not available in the volumes as are there petrol equivevlant at this present time due to limited production especially in regards to an adult bike. and to be brutally honest I can not afford to purchase a new petrol bike let alone a new electric bike. even though theres not much between them if on the other hand a 2nd EM motion was for sale in my budget range and peoples budgets vary I would consider it not because I am put off by the tech but by its 2nd hand availability . and please don't fall into the trap of deluding yourself that because I have an electric trial motor cross bike etc I have willy wonkas golden ticket you don't its just easier for lobbyists do gooders etc to devide and conquers each group individually like what happened with fieldsports.
  24. we certainly don't want to fall into the trap that the hunting fishing groups did thinking that because they deemed there hobby was in there opinion had less impact that they were safe . fact is if it be electric petrol trials bikes motor cross or endure they will try to impose some kinds of restrictions on it it. if its emissons and you switch to electric bikes then what your damaging the environment disturbing wildlife impacts on the local fauna and flaura upsetting the locals noise pollution etc etc etc. believe it or not there are people out there who sole purpose in life is to make everybody else as mundane sh!te and make the rest of us as big as miserable bstrds as them.
  25. as you live in Stafford do you not know anyone who owns a bike or a club near you whos members .are willing to let you try out a bike or try some were like inch perfect trials were you can hire a bike for half a day or full day at the fraction of the cost and see if you like it. that way saves you forking out for a bike you may ride very rarely as you also have to bear in mind were are you going to ride it [legally I mean]. we are pretty fortunate in the northwest as there is quite a few places we can go to but they are all things worth thinking about before buying a bike.
