  1. Ross I heard last year all the reserve list got a ryde at last. I presume letters to the EU will take their time, but there must be in the post allready if you got yours. https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=syKWZp8md-8
  2. Anyone has received a letter from Scotland???? https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=syKWZp8md-8
  3. Yes pether "Everything old is new again" or my favourite "Our past is the key to our future"... Very cold indeed Ross, that morning 9am we had -4ºC... Hahaha, wont argue with you about Ossas; in fact nothing against Ossas Paul, just feeding that rivalry that exists in Spain between Bultaco, Montesa and Ossa riders. It comes from far away here... The cows and roedeers mow that garden, and for free!!!!Merry Christmast to you.
  4. Uuuuups sorry Trialscentral; I posted the same video in the Classic Trials Forum... "On any monday" breaking away from work and enjoying trials and life with a friend. Sections are there every day of the week and we don´t really need a competition to enjoy our sport. And yes; it´s me on a Montesa; in fact I like Montesas as much as Bultacos (not Ossas of course; useless irons...).

  6. Hi, I would like to answer the first and opening post of this topic. My answer is YES, definitely and seen thfough the point of view of a Stop rules trials fan, it is the quickest way to ruin trials and upset all the riders. Of course all riders that enjoy and prefer the Stop rules. Unfortunately there are more riders worldwide that actually use non-stop rules than stop rules. Many of them limit their activity just to classic trials, or non competition trials, being no potential customers of motorcycle manufacturers, federations or motoclubs, and thus enhancing the slow death of our sport. Don´t forget the sport of all of us Stop or Non-Stop fans. Unfortunately again, because of that, the problems of trials sport is not limited to a crusade Stop vs. No-Stop. In fact the dilemma if to stop or not to stop is a solution to the problems, not the problem "per se". I find the attitude of the ACU to be very brave, and from the point of view of a Non-Stop fan, a very smart way of introducing Non-Stop both to FIM and to WTC top riders. They will all for sure now test Non-Stop; and in the future they can all decide freely which way to go, if to stop or if to non-stop; or maybe both ways; why not? I belive, think and desire that 2014 will bring us both a Stop and a Non-Stop WTC.
  7. Come on Tom give a call to Steve; he has got another 4 !!!! Let me know the dates to see if I can manage to go... although will need to borrow one of the Scorpas !!! All the best. Javier
  8. Indeed Big John, if that at last is what the organizing committee wants their trial to be.
  9. I know Paul. The more good classic trials the better for us; classic trials riders. I am sure it must be a good trial, although I am also sure some people would like it and some not, but note that nobody opens a topic or even more than one in TC year after year to try and tell him how he must manage and regulate the trial he arranges. I also put my time and money to help arrange some trials; and I know very well the great amount of work (sometimes money) you have to invest and how thankless the task can be sometimes. So honestly, my respect and admiration to all that take the responsibility to organizing a great trial, and for me Scottish pre65 is number 1.
  10. And at last this is the one and only true. If you want something different; do it yourself.
  11. Not Perito hondars250 but Vilfredo Pareto, have a look to the man himself and his very sharp gaze thinking about how to raise a discussion...
  12. Hi Paul; yes the Micklethwaite´s are pop & movie stars !!!! metisse I guess big events need sponsors to make them possible and affordable for the pilots. At least the big events I know in Spain would be impossible to keep on going without them.
  13. Entries are open for the trial in the club´s web www.ssdt.org don´t miss the promotional video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=syKWZp8md-8 they also have a link to dropbox if you ant to download it high resolution !!! Edit to add the link to the dropbox in the SSDT web: http://www.ssdt.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=category&layout=blog&id=10&Itemid=20 Enjoy !!!
  14. Just arrived from the Isle of Man, want to thank Marilyn, Phil, Juan Readshaw and all the motoclub crew for the fantastic trial and weekend we have enjoyed. Also want to point out the amazing trial rode by Juan Knight that loosed just two marks with a rigid Bantham. A enjoyable video about the 7th race we could enjoy on Friday before the trial; 200 mph in an urban circuit with 1970´s bikes... http://www.wimp.com/streetracing/
  15. Very nice pics Tom, thanks for sharing. Kenya is a great country where to feel the adventure with total freedom riding a trials bike.
  16. I rebuit mine as it was in a good condition. Have a look here: http://ivancirre.com/tiendanueva/product_info.php?cPath=42_81&products_id=653&osCsid=aff003ad65356fd3fcefa5c432228e4b not cheap but this guy works properly. I have seen this ones in some shows and look quite ok.
  17. Agree D. Moffat drive with that Matchless was brilliant. Next year if I manage to take up to Scotland my 198 Bultaco I will try A route.
  18. In my opinion it was a great event. Sunday sections were easy to mess if you did not pay atention... it happened to me... He re there is a report I wrote in Todotrial with pics by Hilary Little and a very nice video from David Moffat, thanks all and I&D Motoclub for the event. http://www.todotrial.com/ttclasico/competicion2012/highland-classic-2012.htm
  19. 4 Yamahas broke down without spark in fact. I think all of them had an electronic ignition fitted...
  20. I agree it´s a big improvement sections are not the same Saturday and Sunday. I will be there, no matter which weekend.
  21. Hope to see you there next year Paul.
  22. Congratulations Chris_ Yes it looks a original one!!! Silencer (135€), chain guard (30€), foot pegs (60€), and mudguards (220€ both) can be found completely new in the internet. I still didn´t finished mine, just trying to fix a chain tensioner.
  23. Yes Big John; Highland Classic Two Days is definitely growing in quality and I am sure in the future more than one special "someone" will attend this event. This year the trial has been absolutely brilliant. The sections have been really selective in both routes A & B and have taken away a good number of dabs to each and every pilot. You could clean them all, but also could mess them easily. I claned them all (except that b..... section 11...) and anyway loose 47 marks in the weekend !!!! Also the variety in the sections is a highlight in this trial; rocky Scottish burns, sand, close turns in the trees, mud, roots, rocks... The long version of the route is very enjoyable and the scenery looking down to Alvie State and the lakes is really nice. I took just this two pics in section 2, hope to see some more soon... Edit to say I think very probably in a close future Highland Classic will be the Scottish Twinshock event everyone will want to enter.
  24. Flights booked; entry sent, just waiting for the starting permit from the RFME. Almost ready to go to the Highland Classic Two Days Trial. A very enjoyable event; and completely agree with Big John when he says: "The sections don’t look hard but they can be long and need sustained concentration otherwise marks can be lost."
