  1. If you ever think in selling that bike; please send me a PM
  2. You can like it or not; you can prefer stop or non-stop; you can claim the right of having stop rules trials; true that FIM is quite egocentric; but this written by b40rt is a painfull truth.
  3. Still a year to go; but I am sure FIM must be working in a "Plan B" for 2015... or at least they should be... As I wrote in Rapley´s column the mixture top-modern-trials + non-stop has come out bitter. It´s time to accept that the non-stop rules should always be as they apply them in Scotland with everything that this implies; like it or not. Also that stop rules trials has its own niche of fans; and like it or not again; those fans include not only the younger but also the best riders. To arrange for a WTC or a National trials is actually complicated and arduous enough as to give a chance to both sides of conceiving the sport of trials, eliminating indoor world championship which is accessed by invitation only and is reserved just for a super small group of best, most spectacular, and paid pilots, creating an indoor trophy that may well bear the name of a commercial house also helping to raise funds. "Coca-Cola XTrials World Series"... or something similar... "All for one and one for all" the musketeers said...
  4. This is my Gas Gas. Not the latest one I know, but very little use and all original... even the tyres. Need to use it more.
  5. Hi turbo: Still no dates for 2014 event as the calendar needs to be confirmed by the federation and untill the anual meeteing on December 2013 no exact dates will be available. Most probably 17 & 18 or 24 & 25 May. All info about the trial will be in the club´s web http://www.motoclubsotobike.com/ When the time comes and the dates are published contact me by pm. as I can help you with bookings, entry etc.
  6. It was a fanthastic trial for a brilliant weekend. So enjoyable; I think so many things concurred to make this a memorable weekend and without any doubt Highland Classic is now by own merits one of the best classic trials in the calendar. Thanks to so many people... you know who you are. 7. Do you know what engine is Lejeune using in this RTL Honda ???? The kickstart is quite high similar to the TLR250R more a trail engine than a trials engine (by the way a very powerfull mechine). In the series RTL the start is lower; same as in the TLR 200/250.
  8. Robregordo 2013 in TV !!!
  9. You are wellcome. Next year is 10th anniversary of the Robregordo 2 Days; it is a young trial but a big trial and sure it will be fun.
  10. Thanks for the pics gasgas249uk. We enjoyed Robregordo 2013 with a very good weather for the first time in some years. Rain did not arrived untill Sunday afternoon; at night with a spectacular thunderstorm. 220 pilots raced; Jordi Tarrés and Manuel Soler among them. 14. Voted. At the moment 1 vote to ban and 1,728 against the ban... no further comments needed.
  15. Very good show. Thanks to Alan Wright for the work. It really worths taking a plane from Spain to spend here the weekend. Probably nowhere else in the world you can find the same number of classic dirt bikes, new and used spare parts or classic off road riders all together. FUN !!!! Definitely Telford 2014 I will be there !!!!!
  16. A man wakes up 06.30, he is going to ride trials with his friends. Opens the garage door, it is pouring outside, cold as hell, a bleak wind. He spends some time inside the garage watching outside; it still pours out and increasingly more, colder and windier. At 07.30 and given that it will become worse decides to return to bed. Not the perfect day for trials. He takes off all his clothes in the darkness of the room; and returns to bed. Whispers to his wife "you cannot imagine the day so miserable, it’s a hell of a day outside” And the woman replies: "And my idiot husband has gone away to ride trials bikes...”
  17. Nice video, keep practicing, that´s a very good performance for a first day in trials !!!
  18. As you can imagine, those with modified bikes in which the sliders, frame, rims, yokes, exhausts, airfilter boxes or any modified part of their bike sends them straight to the "open" category with a +30% handicap are not really happy... For me I don´t mind, as all of my bikes comply with the new regulations.
  19. Yes all admited. To be honest it´s tough to say how much an engine is tuned inside if the outside is completely original, and would be impossible to check the internals modifications. About the ignitions they say (and I share that opinion) that classic trials is all about fun and sport, so a electronic ignition and other internal parts give you the reliability of using a bike to enjoy.
  20. I really don´t know. They don´t speak about the number of spokes; but it´s funny to see how they will know that a replica frame has been built in 2013 and not in 1963, as replica frames will send you straight to the Open category and 1,3 handicap. I presume they will work it out a bit more and ammend those parts that are not clear.
  21. Hi Dave: For the airboxes is exactly the same. For example the use if a 199 model air box in a 92 model will change the handicap of the bike from 0,85 to 1. But not the use of a older airbox for example the traditional use in Bultacos of 159 or 190 medel airbox in a later model. Pre67 bikes can have hand made air boxes and continue with the 0,7 handicap; but as sayed; later boxes will send you to a later handicap. For the sliders it is simple; for example Bultaco sliders that have been mechanized and have a modern Gas Gas or Beta bridge will send the whole bike to Open and 1,3 handicap. I bet the original Bultaco sliders will rise their price in the Ebay... For the rims I heard it is all about outside appearance of the bike and also about the precision in the pressure of the tubeless rims. Whit tubeless you can have a more accurrate measurement and also a lower pression inside.
  22. You can use exhausts as Wes specially build for a particular model. The use of an exhaust that is original from a bike that is more modern than the bike will determine the handicap. For example a James with a Wes silencer is still a pre67 bike so 0,7 handicap. A Bultaco Model 80 with a 199 series final exhaust will send the bike to 1,15 handicap instead of 0,85 as the later bike using that silencer is the 1981 199B model. In the pre67 bikes hand made exhausts are accepted for the 0,7 handicap. In the rest of the models hand made exhaust will send you to 1,3 handicap. Same for the brakes. Original hubs and levers, the use of levers from a more modern model will determine the handicap.
  23. Today the new rules for 2013 have been published in the RFME web page. A small "revolution". Handicaps, and more strict ruels for the classic trials, although modified bikes are admitted, they will have the highest handicap of 1,3. New rules as the sliders must have the original stands for the mudguards, modern stands will take the bike to a handicap of 1,3; and much much more. Have a look here: https://fedemoto.info/ImgFCK/file/2013/TRIAL%20CLASICAS/Reglamento/Reglamento%20RFMETRClasicas2013(1).pdf
  24. Paul, I like your chronicles. They have a vintage taste that reminds me the old times motorcycle journalism. Merry Christmant to the members of the Peak Classic Club. Some good friends there
