  1. You were in October in the factory? Really ??? Good for you. I am doing myself a disservice? I don
  2. There is a strong rumor in Spain that Montesa-Honda still has 1,800 4RT (2004 model) stored for sale... This can explain why there is not a new model since then, and also why Honda is gradually trying to quit trials. Bou is still the best Montesa
  3. A friend of mine here in Spain, some years ago got confused and filled the tank of his Fantic 200 with diesel. I was just beside him and attended what happened live. The thing is the bike´s engine strarted second kick, and for around a minute or maybe more; I presume that thanks to the petrol that was in the carburettor and pipe; the engine worked and sound perfectly. Gradually the sound of the engine started to come deeper and deeper, and my friend had to open the throttle more and more to hold the engine started. My friend opened the throttle and looked at me desperate while his Fantic´s engine issued a sound beyond any description. The funny thing is that the engine kept working for what it seemed to us a lot of time untill my friend stopped it. It took him the whole day to find out that the problem were the 4 litres of diesel he poured in the tank I am sure this makes my friend´s Fantic the only diesel twinshock in history !!!!

Hi: At last I got the papers !!! It is definitely a Montesa Cota 247 MkII from April 1970 The front rim is not the original, but I have already found the one to restore it as original as possible. About the papers, here in Spain if a vehicly is road registered, the registration owns to the vehicle and can not be changed to any other vehicle, which makes it quite easy. The big trouble are bikes that never were registered when new, something very common in the Spanish 70
  5. Found in the dark of an old parking in Cordoba, southern Spain, this same week. This 1969 Montesa Cota is completely original, never restored, even with the original tyres and the best of all... road registered and now mine !!!! This beautifull Montesa will be my project for this 2012. And hope this will be the result after some work...

I think this is a very good idea that will make Telford show not only bigger, but much more interesting too, specially when the UK has returned to the real trials... non-stop. Cant wait !!!!

Telford is the best Off Road show by far. Got my air tickets and hotel booked already !!!!! See you there?
  12. I have got them in my 198 model since a couple of years ago, and must say they work really well, there are a great improvement for the rear suspension.
  13. Someone has received the letter? Did you sent it OTF?
  14. Thanks Michael, maybe I go some of them !!!!
  15. Watch here:
  16. All my respect and admiration for those like Manfred Westermann, George Greenland and many others that trial after trial shows us that really the best maybe is still to come. Why not?
  17. Thanks for those shots !!! I really enjoy watching pics and videos of the very old trials bikes.
  18. greeves replied to jaumetgn's topic in Bultaco
They both look 199, not 199A as they dont have the frame cut underneath the engine and the alloy protection. The second one has the frame cut in the rear just behind the seat and a older version air filter (in fact this older ones work better than the new ones, I even have one in my 198 model). This second one could even be an older model modified. To be sure just check engine and frame numbers, the last 3 numbers will thell you which model they are. The first one looks pretty original, and the tubes under the engine are not so smashed as in the second one. Aniway I am sure both are very good trials machines.
  19. Must say Santigosa Classic is a brilliant trial. The scenery and route in the Pyrenees is amazing. The sections are beautifull all of them. Of course I will be there next October, most probably using a Bultaco 198 model. Some pics of the 2010 edition. I strongly recommend you this trial !!! This first one is me on a James:
  20. I think the aluminium tank is even nicer than the fiberglass and will give you less problems with the petrol
  21. Hi OTF: Congratulations for that Model 80. It

Hi from Spain: Matador was designed in 1964 as Mk1(just a few prototypes) and produced by Bultaco starting in 1965 Mk2 as an enduro bike, not a trials bike. A 1966 Matador is a rare Mk2 enduro bike. To transform it isto a trials bike you need to make very deep transformation in the frame and engine.
  23. Most of you have seen 300 engines in 240 frames as it was something common back in the 80
