Aye Steve we do. And I am holding my tongue and biting my lip. LOL
-
Be the truth known Steve although from Canada is actually of Scottish heritage and he has spent many a time in in Scotland. That is why he such a good rider LOL

Hey Hank Hill (Mark) try these out below.

As for no stop riding. If you look back at the origin of the sport stop or no stop was not an issue just getting from point a to b was the goal.
The sport started out as a quality test of the bikes design engineering, craftsmanship. They built the bikes and tried to ride them up the braes, hills, gullies behind the workshops and see if they held together. If it did it would surely hold up on the poorly paved roads at that time. It soon turned into a challenge to see who could go up the braes, hill, gullies without putting there feet down.
Mark are you going to Austin next weekend?
-
The tuchter has spoken. Sorry my laird Fracy.
An urrainn dhut bruidhinn nàs maille? A can thu sin a-rithist, ma's e do thoil e?

Mark everybody from the USA is considered a Yanky in the UK even the southerners. Mark is right when Hank Hill (Mark) and I are next to each other you can tell we are speaking from two different worlds. Mark, when I speak what you are hearing is not an accent but rather English words pronounced properly. An since when do I ever get a 5 in a section ??? 4.5 maybe but never a whole 5!
-
Na bother at awe. As long as Modifer wants to watch "snatch" again and not actual plays with his "snatch" again then we awe all right. LOl
I see he's a yanky and no a sassanach then. Dae ye ken? So its a dram then an no a pint o stout? How about a wee black and tan.
Yell be in yer kip when a type yon reply. Am awa tae mine as well. Its fer drechi er here the nigt.

B40rt U ye guanny stuan back an take that fae a sassanach? LOL Stick the heid on yon wan. Ill huad yer chips, de ye want a len o ma chib? LOL Glesga got yer back gon yerself Auld reekie...........

Which fork leg do you want to know the viscosity of?
One is compression the other rebound so one can put in different viscosity oils end each leg to achieve
desired affect.
Most people I know put a heavier oil in the compression side i.e. 10 > 15 weight and 5 > 10 weight in the rebound side.
Hope this kelps?
-
I think a Glasgow kiss or Glasgow smile may be in order here chaps? LOL Can ye huad ma pint fer mae while dae him in Jimmy! A newer bike eh? So you need a newer bike to go riding, go practice? Let me know when you get it and we can go out and see what it can do.

Mark
What is your big interest in any Trials rules changing. The new rules or in fact any rules only affect those who actual STILL ride trials or even show up at events or practice.
Bench trialers are not affected by rules, so you should be okay Get your bike out out of storage and then talk to us about how the rules are affecting us! LOL

Degree studio By "DUST" I am assuming you mean Carbon build up ?
No, the carbon build up does not affect vacuum (other than scavenging) the length of the stroke, bore size and altitude effects, determines vacuum seen at the carb Venturi. Flooding is a symptom of a mechanical switch (i.e. floats) not switching off for various reasons, vacuum is an effect of pressure differentials.
Feetupfun is giving you some likely scenarios and I am sure there are many others.
Does this help?

Hey Portman
The little black cap is flexible enough at the tip (round part) to give a little plus air does get past the edges of it.
Any serious application of this CV carb on any other bike, quad would see this spigot have a little rubber hose attached and pointing downwards to avoid water, crap from getting into it.
Try this test, Take the carb off and lift the slide up and down with your finger, feel the resistance, and how it lifts up and down quite smoothly, now block up the spigot good and tight with another finger and see how many times you can lift the slide up and down before the slide gets sticky and sluggish. You can even try this exercise with the little black cap installed and not installed.
Or stick your mouth over the spigot and lift the slide up and down and feel the air going in and out.
I am guessing that the movement of the slide going up and down due to pressure changing makes the little black cap eventually move and come off that is why they always come off or split.
The issues with this little black cap is amplified if you live/ride in high in elevations.
I guess Beta felt if was good enough with the little black dust cap ??????
Cheers

This little rubber part goes over the atmospheric equaliazation tube for the slide diaphragm on the carb. Otherwise known as the angled shiny part at the tops side of the carb.
This angled spigot tubes job is to let the slide breath/move freely as it adjusts to the pressure differential as the slide moves up and down.
If one where to block this angled spigot's hole up completely (epoxying it) the slide would not move up and down correctly.
With that being said, leaving it completely open lets it breath properly, Caveat: If it was left completely open because it points straight up it is VERY prone to water getting into (washing the bike) and also dirt. It is best to take a rubber hose put it on the spigot and let it arc or bend over gently facing downwards. The little rubber cap installed from Beta just lets it breath enough for it to function. In the normal application of this CV carb i.e. dirt bikes, quads etc it would have hose attached to it.
Cheers

Is this a Beta 4T. If so this part is an important little part.

You wrote: "So, i assume that some amount of pressure "ran backward" to carburation system. This caused carburation pressure to exceed atmospheric pressure in the float tank.
Basically the atmospheric pressure didnt manage to push the fuel to jets in the float tank of the carb !"
Respectfully, I am not quite sure if I agree with your diagnosis.
The vacuum seen at the carb Venturi is due to the stroke of the piston creating a vacuum and the atmospheric pressure pushing on the fuel surface which in turn pushes the fuel up the jets.
It has nothing to do with pressure at the piston dome/crown or compression. If this was accurate in what you say then a 300cc would have more back pressure on the carb than say 125cc bike?
Also your bike has reeds in it which would take care of any back pressure to carb as the piston descends.
Is the bike running okay now?

I would not hesitate to buy a OSSA.
Gas Gas has a great warranty and should back it up for years to come.
-
-
Anyone up to buying a GOSSA?
-
Hey Mark
Of course it did confuse you, your a Texan.......... The alphabet has 26 letters and he is only good friends with 25 of them.
DUH.............
-
I think it would be more suitable for an olympic sport once we see electric trials bikes on the scene and more mainstream.
-
If the olympic officials and the ability to allow BMX as an Olympic sport then maybe there is hope for trials been considered?
BMX????????? I guess they have to hold the competitions during the day as the competitors would have to be in bed by 8pm LOL

"chucking fuel out of the overflow pipes,"
-
"I would like to know of there is a good set up for the uk"
Why would one presume the UK carb set up is different?
-
I read the 2013 spec and nothing said about a starting battery pack?
Anyone care to comment?
-
Tittle pretty much says it all!
If so an indoor or outdoor venue?
Your thoughts!
