  1. i'll be right over to pop that lid for you rob
  2. maybe i don't write english well or maybe you didn't read what i said. (i only put the brake finger on the bars when doing big steps or splatters.) that means i take my finger off the brake lever and PUT IT ON THE BARS. also why does it take more strenght to keep a finger on the brake then it does to keep a finger on the clutch? you do keep a finger on the clutch for splatters right? if not how do you operate the clutch? why does what type of bike i ride make any difference to this conversation? i don't judge all riders of different bike brands by people like you.......... i hope your not representitive of the bike brand you ride i've never meet a jar lid i couldn't open yet.................
  3. After 20 years of marriage, a couple was lying in bed one evening, when the misses felt her husband begin to fondle her in ways he hadn't in quite some time. It almost tickled as his fingers started at her neck, and then began moving down past the small of her back. He then caressed her shoulders and neck, slowly worked his hand down over her breasts, stopping just over her lower stomach. He then proceeded to place his hand on her left inner arm, caressed past the side of her breast again, working down her side, passed gently over her buttock and down her leg to her calf. Then, he proceeded up her inner thigh, stopping just at the uppermost portion of her leg. He continued in the same manner on her right side, then suddenly stopped, rolled over and became silent. As she had become quite aroused by this caressing, she asked in a loving voice, 'Honey, that was wonderful. Why did you stop?' I found the remote,' he mumbled. rob
  4. i keep both levers covered. it's natural feeling and i only put the brake finger on the bars when doing big steps or splatters. your second finger is stronger for holding on than the 1st or index, just ask rock climbers. you only need the 4 to hang on it just takes time to develope the lever position to get comfy and then it's second nature. rob
  5. looks cool, can you tell me how to make a gif, i'm using photoshop cs2 and can't figure it out. rob
  6. try this after putting all the parts back on the bike, i.e. forks, front wheel, axle. tighen axle but before tightening the pinch bolts on the bottom fork try taking the bike off the stand and bouncing the bike a bit. it maybe that when you put it together and tighen everything it pulls the forks in a bit. and leaks when you ride. if there are no dings, scrapes or whatever it shouldn't ruin seals that way, frustrating i know. hope you get it sorted rob
  7. before grinding on clutch basket try different oil weights, atf is faster and a heavy gear oil is slower more progressive. oil is cheaper than replacing a basket or clutch plates. if the bike has sat up for a long time try bleeding out all the old fluid in the lines rob
  8. apology accepted, when are you going to post the bridge pic rob
  9. no updates lately? it seems the young lewis was at fault for the brazil problem. he pushed a button on the steering that put the car into some mode for the race start or something like that. the boy has talent but i'm happy he didn't win it. not that i'm a kimi fan but with the whole spy crap thing i just think the whole season is a wash out. rob
  10. a few shots from the weekend rob http://s234.photobucket.com/albums/ee287/t...2010%2014%2007/ more to come if i can process them

    06 Beta Airbox

sorry i don't have a clue about the box as i've never been in on yet. but on my 99 gg i had a similar problem. i just yanked out the old bolt and then used a new bolt and nut. i just used some sealant on the new bolt to seal the hole and after that i could use a wrench on the outside and a socket on the inside. it's a pain i know, i hope you get it figured out rob
  13. i like dpreview.com for camera advice. sometimes it just comes down to preference and seeing what meets your needs both $$$ wise and photographic need. i don't have any idea about the pentax sorry but most of the top digi cams today are pretty good. rob
  14. go here for one of the best places to get photo info http://www.dpreview.com/ the prices of dlsr's have come down so much that you should consider one. most are great and the hard part is finding the one that fits your needs. lots of 1 and 2 lens kits to chose from, checkout bhphotovideo.com for kits also great prices too. i don't work for any of the above i just use them happily. i love my olympus and it's the only camera with a true dust buster system that keeps the sensor clean, handy for trials. there are some faster nikon and canon camera's but for the buck i chose the oly e300. the lenes are great and weather sealed. i hope to upgrade to a pro body to get the same weather sealing. that and a flash and i should have a perfect trials ready camera. now all i need to do is learn to take better photo's. rob
  15. hi what class / skill level rider are you? one of the big things learn to relax, in sections on the trail to the next section learn to lean on your plams more while riding. also learn to depend less on the clutch, thats the major. as for during the week train and ride if possible. riding is the best way to get in shape for riding. proper breathing while riding a section. lots of guys actually hold their breath at times when something big is coming up. stretching while waiting in line, drink lots of water (always) days in advance of riding. never drink caffine before an event try Potassium pills or suppliment. i use that for the extra hot summer months. don't use gator aid, power aid try orange juice instead. just a few things that help me i hope it works for you rob
  16. it works for all other forms of compititon and no scales. if the manufacturer of the bike makes it to meet the weight limit thats all that needed. now when you talk about a national or world round what would it add but just a scale. they already have a tech inspection at these events? mx, sx all have wiegth requirments but on the amatuer level it makes no difference. also the issue of rider weight is Irrelevant also as we don't worry about that now do we? also i don't think the idea is for exsisting bikes but future bikes to reduce the climbing cost and expense of the new bikes to come. my opinion is that 4t aren't green, they burn motor oil no matter how slight. motor oil was not meant to be be in the air or water. the new 2 stroke oil is much more enviro friendly to air and water and with the ratio that trials bikes run not really much of a problem as one might think. fun topic to think about rob
  17. i agree, i've said that for years, all other forms of racing have a weight limit to reduce expesive metals. don't get me wrong i love my light bike rob
  18. lenoir city tennessee, last weekend, olympus e 300 with the kit lens 14-45mm. i think the place had 2 rocks. unusual for tenn i thought. that was my first time in that area to ride. a good change of pace after the ttc round, fun event. louisiana is much flatter. i'll try and post some photo's of our flat land riding area sometime. all of our obstacles are man made, railroad cross ties, poles and no hills. we only have an acre or two to ride on. merlyn always has that intense look of concentration but a couple of margaretta's losen's him up. rob
  19. no crashing, couldn't talk anyone into it. http://www.pbase.com/rob214/trials_at_hickory_hills_07 camera flash worked better but i still need a better flash rob
  20. one of my fav's http://holyrollerz.org/ rob
  21. from the ttc spring splash, the photo's are not up to much standard, my flash didn't cooperate and my wife wasn't familar with how to adjust the camera to compensate. http://www.pbase.com/rob214/trials_ttc_07&page=all rob
  22. guy cooper 125 us champ cross trained on trials bike
  23. also i find it easier to keep a note pad and write down all the changes you make. so you can go back later and evaluate the progress.
  24. despite the fairy tales your girlfriend tells if you can't do it on a bike then don't blame the bike. it's all down to the ability of the rider. body postition and proper Technique. more important than what the suspension is doing, is where your handle bar position and body position. most stock out of crate bikes work perfectly. also most of the best hoppers come from bicycle roots and they have zero suspension it's all rider skill. and it's a learned thing you can get just keep trying rob p.s. i can't dance a step at all but i can hop and flick it like i want. plus no complaints from the wife
