  1. Hello All: Can anybody recommend any practice areas around the Notts area? Not looking for anything crazy....just somewhere to pootle around really.......collect the bike on Friday and I'm hoping to get out as soon as possible....whilst trying to resist the temptation to go straight to a trial on the Sat...(after over 10 years off...figure that might be a bit of high risk strategy...esp for anybody standing too close...!).. Be good to meet some local riders too... Cheers,
  2. re: the caddy.... do you have to remove the bulkhead to get the bike in? I've just got hold of an 02 Seat Inca (Volks Caddy?)....and it's got quite a curved bulkhead in it....looks like you'd never get a bike in.....!! I'm guessing you need to move the passenger seat right forward and roll the rear wheel as far back as you can? Got a 500 mile journey on Friday to pick the bike up.....just want to make sure I'll be able to get the thing in...!! Cheers...
  3. Hey Guys: At last - after a few weeks of searching I've at last found myself a good 315r (for a while there I nearly went down the Rev-3 route!!)... Anyways - I've been searching through this forum to find out what I should be doing to the bike set-up wise...and it seems there are a few things worth doing....but, I can't figure out whether some of the mods are only applicable to newer model bikes.... Can anybody help out with the following: Sureflex clutch plates (will a 2004 need them?) Boysen Reeds ? 42 - 11 gearing ratio Delta linkage plates Straight through exhaust silencer? From what I understand - later models shouldn't need the head porting job.....and it's best to run off high-octane fuel? Can anybody advise on the pre-mix ratio? Thanks alot I collect the bike on Friday and hope to be out riding this Sunday...!!
  4. Hey Guys: Quick question - has anybody any experience of using a small van like a Peugeot Partner / VX Combi to transport a trials bike? I'm looking at getting as small a van as possible to ship both a trials bike / DH mountain bikes around and in an ideal world one of the smaller vans would be choice...not to mention easier to find than Vito's etc.... unfortunately - I haven't got myself a trials bike yet and the van is coming first....so it could all be a bit of an expensive gamble!!! Cheers,
  5. Hey Guys: I'm looking at a 315R as the bike to get back into the sport on.... I'm not too fussed on the bike year at the moment - unless somebody can give me any pointers on a good year to look at? From what I've seen - it looks like the head angle may have got a little slacker from 2002 onwards?...is this correct? If so - are the earlier bikes a little more trick to ride? Any advice/chat on what to consider/year on year developments would be appreciated.... Cheers.... ...if anybody knows any good bikes available too.....?
  6. Cheers for the info guys.... looks like when I get back from here (I live in Canada 6 months of the year)...in October I'll still be able to catch a couple of trials....blow some cobwebs off....which is good news....guess I'll look into joining a club too... I used to ride around North Wales - then the North East during Uni days......so the east midlands will be a new one for me..... looks like the Beta will be easiest bet......seems like they have been fairly sorted for the last couple of years.... cheers again,
  7. Hello All... After a 10 year break I've decided to get back onto 2 wheels..... Bikes seem to have progressed a fair amount over the decade (there's a suprise then!!)...so I could do with a little advice prior to investing in a bike again.... At the moment - it's looking like a 2004 Rev or 315R.......Beta for the reliability and nostalgia (many a happy Sunday spent on my old Stripey), Mont just because and running a 5 speed for the first time seems to hold appeal.... Question really is how were the later 315's?...(I'm guessing the later production runs should have been fairly ironed out?)....... 2004 Rev's seem to good reviews Don't really fancy a gg or Sherco... Also - anybody know of clubs around the Nottingham area? looking at spending about 1500 GBP so if anybody has any of the above forsale....get it touch... Cheers Guys,
