If it has not had any work done on the engine recently i would look at the crank oil seals. They would effect the mixture by sucking air into the crank.
This is where i would start.

Come on Dicker, share the results!!!

Hi Dicker.
I have a 200 carb you can try on it if you want.
You playing this weekend?
Steve

Can you send a link to the video \Lee?
Steve

Hi Lee.
Thank-you for that, i will try a 53 on my rear. How did you get on at the 3Day trial? You back in Germany now?
Steve
-
I have the same problem. Seem to have to do everything in 1st because 2nd is too fast and the engine does not have the power to use any other gear than 1st.
Let me know how you get on and i will try as well.

Hi there.
(before i leave this H&S dictates i take no responsibility if you singe your eye brows).
I would go with the burn out option. If you get it off the bike, take some petrol, fill it then leave it too soak over night. Pour out the petrol, put too one side. Take a lighter and set light to one end. If you have a compressor gently blow down one end, you should have a flame thrower effect out of the other end, you really must do this out side, take great care. When nice and hot give it a couple of good taps with a hammer, the carbon should fall out. Good luck.

Hi All.
Just been onto the BVM web site to look at rim lock's and was given lots of different size options. What do i need? I am trying to get my 200 ready for the Exmoor 3 day this weekend coming. Took off my rather warn rear ready to fit my new Michy and found my locks are, well pooped!
Any help would be good.

They are made from HIPS, then vac formed over a GRP mold i took from an origonal. The lugs on the back are nylon, turned down on a laith to match the origonal lugs. The problem i have is bonding the lugs onto the panels. I have used araldite to bond the lugs on however i am not sure the bond is strong enough. I could tap a thread into the lug and have a flush bolt head on the front side.
Any ideas???????
I have at the moment got panels made for 240 - 125 and 300. I have made some for my own 200 but have troubles making the clip that goes around the frame.

Still working on the 200 side panels out of HIPS. Had success with the 240 and 300 side panels. See 240 below.
-
Would anyone be interested in carbon effect HIPS covers that would slip over the existing side case? I would be able to VAC form over the original side cover and provide a protective outer that would fit straight over the original. This would give protection against all thoes knocks and also make an older cover look sexy again.
-
Well im not sure if my ridding ability justifies it however i am fead up with the tube tyre rotating during a trial and stressing the tube. It means breaking the bead and farting around with getting it back in position. It wll also mean i can use tubeless tyres and have them fit better.

Hi there.
It is from a 93, it has 36 spokes.

Hi All.
I have got hold of a GasGas rim and want to have it laced onto my 200 hub.
Anyone know of a wheel builder in the Southwest UK? Also anyone done this and have an idea of the type of spokes i require?
Ta.

I have had exactly the same problems as you, bike would start ok but when it gets warm dead as a dodo. Sent my LT coil to West Country Windings, had it back re-wound the same week, it has never missed a stroke since. Cant say the same for the ridder!!!!

Thank-you for the image, very usefull.
Can anone measure the distance from the timing mark anti clockwise around the case to the edge of the cable entry point please?
Thank-you
Steve.

Hi there.
Anyone got a pic of the side of a 200 engine, back kick engine.
I want to know where the timing mark should be on the side of the case. My case has no mark at all on it, it does not have any engine number either. If there are no pics can any one measure where there mark is on there own case please.
Ta in advance.

Hi there.
Can you tell me if this is a beamish wheel?
It was fitted on my Fantic but i am sure it is not Fantic.
Its sat in my loft now.

Hi there.
I have the same problem on my 200.
I am running the same set up as you have described. If i get any info i will post it here for you.
Steve

Ta Lee,
However it seem you would have lost that money. Have fitted a new WES back box and cut open the mid box, there is now nothing in there and still the same problem.
I have increased the size of the main with no effect. What if i reduce it?
-
Anyone know why the front exhaust box would be stamped FM250?
Also if i look into the air box from the carb side the hole into it appears to only be half open, at the top. There seems to a molding over 180deg of the opening from the air box to the pipe that the rubber tube goes on. Is this normal?
There are also 2 tubes that go up under the set off of the air box, about 25mm in dia. These appear to have had a hack saw cut them off much shorter.

Thank-you for the info so far.
Petrol tap fine.
Float level ok.
New plug.
92 main fitted as an experiment to see what happened.
All above have no improvement.
Rode an evening trial his evening, bike starts very well, at low and medium revs clean and well, but as soon as i open her up she has no go.
Played around with the mixture screw has some effect but wont get rid of problem.
Could it be the timing? I set it up using just the marks on the stator, if i use a dial guage on the piston at what point should the marks line up?
-
Anyone know what the float height should be?
-
Ta for that. I will check the float level.
As for the exhaust, i have cleaned out the mid box and fitted an new back box.

Hi All.
I have been through my 200 as follows.
New. LT and Ht coils.
Re-built engine, seals, mains, ring, new air filter, pipe from filter to carb and carb to engine.
New delorto carb with 44 slow jet, AQ268 atomiser, 33D needle, 92 main,
Bike starts first kick every time, ticks over like a kitten, reves up ok to a point, however when nearing the top of its range it stutters and splutters and will not rev out clean. This becomes obvious when doing a hill climb, it runs out of steam in second and there is no way of getting going again.
Please can anyone think of a reason?
I am 99% sure the timing is spot on but will re-check if you think that could be the case.
Thank-you advance.
Steve.
