    Ty 80 Project

betarick,Stick with it,can't you get the hole plugged with some weld and just drill and re-tap it,as a last resort you could try some of that two pack metal mix filler, there use to be some stuff called Bells filler that set as hard as metal.

    Ty 80 Project

Hi Betarick,I think you will find that the engine and frame numbers would have matched when the bike was new,if you search the forums you will find lots of info regarding your TY80,There is a posting with info to phone Yamaha on 01932 358000,to get it dated.I have found there is enough info in the Haynes manual to get you through most problems with the TY range.
  10. MANUALFound this on Ebay if your still looking. YAMAHA Trials TY 250 Workshop Manual on CD TY250 Item number: 180195502317
  11. biffsgasgas, she sounds too good to be true, have you checked her out down below, well you never know these days.

    Ty80 Purchased !

I had a Puch three speed, can anyone remember them.mine was the step through version in green and cream.lovely,not. AtomAnT,I can remember a Fantic six speed normal road looking bike back in 74,you always knew when one was coming because of the number of gear changes. If I can regain any street cred the next bike I had was a YDS7.
  13. biffsgasgas,If your wife to-be was not crazy about that ring that you loved, have a long hard think about all the other things that you love and she probably will not. From a man who's been married 27 years. PS. I could have told you she wouldn't like that ring, and my wife would have thrown up.I liked it.
  14. City Trials,If you don't like it then why do you look at it? Oh well, as I said it does take all sorts and I guess your just making the numbers up.

    Ty80 Purchased !

Hi axulsuv,it is a four speed, dont know how to work out the year, just get yourself Haynes manual its covers the TY50,80,125,&175,I think you can still get a new copy,if not they come up on Ebay.
  16. Rosey.I am amazed that we sell things to China I didn't think we made much these days especially things that they could afford in China. As for your employees it does take all sorts to make the world go around(with regards to some being more helpfull than others).Talking about it takes all sorts,Slapshot 3 your a brave man to add that bit under anthing goes, the Chrismas Funnies,part2.
  17. AtomAnt,It was very kind of you to send me the info, with the first idea I had which went on to me making the prototype I did trawl the web site you mentioned and found it very interesting, spent hours looking at inventions that sounded like mine but were nothing like it.I have three other inventions to which to my knowledge are original but I have not spent any time as yet looking for anything similar.I know I could do the working drawings and the how it works descriptions, it just seems like a load of grief, which I think is kind of what you have already mentioned.I could make prototypes of the other inventions and would not need to farm this work out. So do you fancy a look at my inventions. your quote(to get it critically assessed for its viability before you go ahead)
  18. AtomAnt,you mentioned inventing new products, now your talking, you could help me out as I have a few ideas that could possibly make some money. The biggest problem is the patents,I found the NESTA website and it looks like a right pain trying to obtain a patent, and this looks as though it would only cover the UK.I have made one of the ideas I had and it works a treat, the others are still in my head but could be easily made. Got any good advice?
  19. HAM2,I liked your story, why would I like to aspire to be a thief, not being any kind of thief would satisfy me,it would have to be a Bank Robber. To rob Banks without a care just like they would rob you without a care, every day of week you get robbed one way or another. Then theres the legitimate robbing that goes on by MP's,Lords,Companies,Police, the list goes on.How do the think most Lords and Gentry gained their wealth, they robbed other people and those that have inherited it dont feel bad about it.Perhaps I would rob the rich and give to the poor would that be OK. I have had a very hard day at school today(or did I just have a hard)anyway its way past my bedtime.
  20. Hi totalshell,my first question is did you hurt yourself when you jumped off the bus,cuz I tried this once and to try and get them feet moving at the same speed as the bus aint easy.So the question is are you selling drugs. PS. dont tell me your Bus was stationary, thats no fun.
  21. Hi Bilco,I like the sound of your job,so what are you doing?selling drugs or something.I always thought I would maybe rob a bank, you know the ultimate crime, can anyone remember a bloke called Eddie Mehur(i think) who robbed a bank in Felixstowe(wheres Felixstowe I hear you say,its on the end of his foot)well he was a Lock Smith by trade employed by Sucuricor and was doing his rounds around the banks picking up cash and on the last pick up his mate went into the bank to do the last collection(this guy has the key to the money) and Eddie was in the van,at this point Eddie drives off with all the cash, stops off in some little lane near the sea front, opens the safe with a key he made from a copy and legs it,never to be seen again. He even managed to get his wife and child out of the country and never to be seen since. Now thats what I call clever not like me who has just advertised that I want to rob a bank.
  22. Bilco, your quote:I think as long as you have enough money to pay the bill's and have enough left to take your bike out at the weekend your doing well for yourself at the moment. The reason I would disagree with this is because there are lots of people out there doing sweet F.A. and they have enough to pay the bills and put petrol in their bike and probably do other things,so why would I think I was doing well for myself at the moment? considering that I have learnt a trade, get up and go to work five days a week,do what is asked of me(well almost everything)at work, take a load sh*t from Managers, and grovel to customers.I think I should get more than the tossers who do nowt.I do actually work six days a week by choice an expect a holiday every year. I think your expectations are what some Manager has brained washed you with.
  23. Hi Andy,I hope you had a happy Birthday yesterday,if my Boss phoned me to wish me a happy Birthday I would be worried,if my Bosses Boss phoned to wish me a happy Birthday I dont think I would ever return to work, the guy wears make up.(he don't know we know, several of us noticed traces of mascara around his eyes) PS. I think the only reason they know when your birthday is,is because they have been checking employee details to see who's next on the hit list.
  24. bilco,I think I have you sussed.I have always wondered if time travel was possible and what I am thinking is that back in 1880 you invented a Time Machine and selected 2007 as one of the years you would like to visit(should have chosen the seventie's)you now find yourself in a period which is hard to understand, your quote:I think as long as you have enough money to pay the bill's and have enough left to take your bike out at the weekend your doing well for yourself at the moment. Its not quite correct for this period. So if your having problems with your Time Machine and it needs fixing I would be more than happy to try and help you fix it. PS. If your planning any trips back to the Wild West please let me know I am willing to pay.
  25. AtomAnt,yes I should just do the training but I have always towed the party line as the company calls it and its beginning to get on my nerves. As does everthing else, like the general cost of living and the way we Brit's do nothing and just bite the bullet. So this is my one man stand on something I feel is an injustice.
