  1. Over the 18 years that I worked for this company the working requirements of the employee's has changed throughtout the passing years,so we have picked up different trades along the way,as I mentioned at the moment I am doing three,If I done the Corgi then this would be four.So as I mentioned on another post the money was good once, now its not I do not feel inclined to do the training for no rewards. The original point I was trying to put across is why should the company I work for not reward me for doing the training, yes Corgi qualifications would be good but why should you have to change jobs to get recognition. It seems very short sighted by companies to train someone, pay them below market rate, and then let them go.Benj I am not doing gas work now, that stopped as the work requirements changed and my Corgi registration ran out.
  2. Not sure where to start with this one,so here's the info some of you wanted,(I think). With the company I work for when you start you are either an Electrician with M&E experiance,a Refrigeration Engineer,a Controls Sytems Engineer,a Fire Sytems Engineer, a CCTV and Card Access Engineer,a Cogri reg Combustion Engineer,or a combination of all of these. At the moment I am doing three of the trades, but some time ago I was Corgi registered and this ran out,so I was asked if I would like to renew it,you know the rest. Why I didn't want to go into great details as to exactly what the training was,was because I considered it irrelevant considering that any training given that makes the company extra money should benifet the trained employee also.Think about it,why do people get trained in the first place, the problem is that your qualifications count when you apply for a job, infact the employer makes such a big deal over them it can make you feel quite small, then when they employ you anything gained don't count. Sorry I P****d so many of you off. Please forgive me (God has)
  3. Sorry fozza321,it all happened such a long time ago I can't remember exactly what it was, bear with me whilst I go and meditate and try to contact my guide.
  4. AtomAnt,you will be pleased to know God is everyones Manager. And fozza321, I did not do the training because they would not give me any extra for doing something that would have financially benefited them.(have I been here before?) Please all remember a Dog is for life not just Christmas. God Loves Animals to.
  5. Hi arun1664,I like your style, some of your comments are spot on,like:- (interesting view on where bad managers come from, in my experience is is more often "promotion to incompetence" )and I can tell you every Engineer where I work would say exactly the same. The thing is my current Manager isn't all that bad,his predecessor was another story, the kind of guy that would ask you how something works, you would explain it to him and then he would be telling you what you told him the next day with a perfectly serious face.Or he would ask for your opinion on something, totaly ignore what you said, done what he wanted to,then when it all went wrong somehow blame you.And guess what he got promoted. And for all of you who thought I was a Bog Cleaner, what's wrong with being a Cleaner,I have met some very intelligent people who have chosen to be Cleaners, there's nothing wrong with that. A big thanks to all of you who knows where I am comming from with what I said. And God really does Love you all,no matter what you said.
  6. Hi barrybaines, thanks for pointing that out,I didn't need to do any sums as I knew that there was more against what I said than fore it.I wasn't looking for a majority vote, just your opinions,so thanks all. God Loves You.
  7. OK AtomAnt,very sorry I didn't start this with the correct attitude,I promise I will go and stand in the corner in a minute.Sorry you didn't read all of the comments as some did support what I said. Love you lots, Andy.
  8. Hi all,its been so nice to hear your comments even if most of them are wrong. Its strange that nobody thought to ask what it was that my manager asked me to have training for,or why I thought that this should warrant extra money.I think most of you made assumptions that I think were wrong.I would like to point out that with the job I do there is very little contact ever with my Manager and all of the customers I deal with have always been very satisfied with what I have done. PS sorry Andy, just when you thought I had shut up. Lots of love to you all, Andy.
  9. Well Zippy, dont look at the anything goes subject if you dont like it. THE END AGAIN. I might like being a pansy they look nice in the winter.
  10. Hi Kinell, you are wrong on every count with regards to what I said about your business.I dont think you listend to what I said about the company I work for. THE END.
  11. Hi Andy, i give up,I think. Roll over with legs in the air,it was fun while it lasted.
  12. Oh Atom have I hit you where it hurts,if you start a business and it aint what you thought it should be then don't blame me.If i had a business all the Employee's would be paid a fair wage and I would listen to their opinions whether they where right or wrong. You must think your Employee's are stupid, just remember they will get back at you double what they think you owe them one way or another.
  13. Oh well Kinell, guess I come under the catergory of no hopers and dossers andf "Stick it up your RSS".If thats what you want to think then fair enough.Just what I would expect from a employer that can't see no further than the end of his nose. Please drop me a line when your business folds and tell me you got it all wrong. Bitter, twisted, not me. PS if you you invest money in training and get no return then you deserve to fold.
  14. Thanks for the adice HAM2,do unto others bit,yes I am married, glad you have a sense of humour.Nobody is going to step on my balls and I don't eat sh*t sandwhich.Like I said you only live once, say what you want to say, don't let anyone change your opinion. What should I buy my wife for Christmas,I was thinking of a necklace.
  15. Kinell,if most of what you spent was well spent then what are you moaning about. What I am talking about is money that was spent on me training me up to do jobs that you could charge the customer extra for,but not wanting to give me any extra .Most of your Employee's would say the same if they had any ball's.Just remember why you entered a business,it was to make money, the same applies to all of you employee's they only go to work for the money.Any chance of of a job? PS.'Training Reimbursement' well I really would have great pleasure in telling you to shove it so far up your RSS that it would come out of your mouth. Me.Bite,Never. .
  16. OK Atom, so you are are a confirmed Manager or at least a would be Manager.I realy could not give a f**k if my Manager wanted to get rid of me.The real point is you only live once and say what you want to say before you die, you may live to regret it.(what?)Do you see how what you said just bounced off me.
  17. OK Ishy, I did say it was my final word, but its obvious theres a lot of Managers out there reading this and yes your right its obvious that my Manager thinks that what he pays me is what I am worth, its a good job the Engineers don't pay the Managers what we think their worth. The thing is I think the Managers know what their worth and just like to reflect this on the Engineers to make themselves feel good. They should stick with Wan King the ancient form of pleasure. Me, bite, never.
  18. My last words on this subject for all you Managers. It's the Golden Rule: "Do unto others as you would have others do unto you." It is the ultimate norm of high morality in our culture. Sure there are other morals by which we live, but this one phrase embodies our most cherished value: that we should treat people as we would like to be treated.
  19. OK HAM2,just phoned the Samaritans and they haven't any jobs suitable for me at the moment,so what was your "long" answer?
  20. OK,so this is how it is,I didn't exactly say stick your training up your RSS,I just said if theres no money in it for me then why should I do it(was thinking stick it up your RSS at the time). The point is this, when I started 18 years ago the basic money was good for the job they employed me to do, but as years have past I have received additional qualifications that benefit the company financially,so I didn't mind doing the extra training when the pay was good but now its not I have no enthusiasm to do anything extra,if the company charges extra for what I do then I should get extra for doing it.In reality I should just do the training and then tell them to stick their job up their RSS,problem is that I have a final salary pension tying me to the job. Scott the TY is still going good with no more mods as yet, picked up a cheap GASGAS 200,its alot easier to ride than the TY. PS. I want support not criticism.
  21. Please let me know if your Employer sucks. The company I work for is always expecting more from me,but when you mention is there any more money in it for me you get this stange look from the managers. Is it just me or do others expect rewards for being trained to do advanced skills. Please let me know what you think. P.S. I have told them to stick their training up there RSS
  22. Well I agree with r2wtrials and jezza you can write as much as you like and it wont change a thing,if it did then there would be no more wars.So who wants to start the revolution.
  23. Hi,if the caliper moves apart where the small 'O' ring seals the two halfs then I would say that the calipers are somehow distorted,if this is the case then you could try and flatten them by sanding using some wet and dry stuck to some plate glass then rubbing them till flat. You should be able to bleed them using the brake lever as a pump, the only problems I have had is when the bleed nipple has some dirt in it preventing it from passing fluid. Regards Andy.
  24. Hi,starting from right to left 0676 is the number bike built,99 is the year of manufacture,07 is the month,99 year model,37 model 370. So you was correct in what you said. Regards Andy. PS. I think that 7 should be a 2

    Ty80 Problems?

OK, Kevin is correct in what he said, its not the best of my ideas, but I would say if the bike is your sons pride and joy then dont try it,if its going to end up getting busted for spares if it looks like a serious engine rebuild then I would still give it a quick kick over with no oil just to see if it fires up.But then thats just me doing what I do.
