  3. kvothe you do have a point about websites there are a few that are up to date and are well run, with a lot of them that go nowhere. The site you mention is a great looking site looks modern and professional looks like a growing sport. cbutler is a hardcore rider that has just gotten into the sport I think he might have missed your intention Im 53 years old was not an avid bike rider never heard of the sport until 2004 once I tried it i was hooked. But I first had to hear about it ,this is where our sport fails there is no national marketing but then again there no reason to, because theres no money to be made for the compertitors of the sport no reason for sponsors to invest because theres no big stage to show off this sport, Unlike over seas they draw hughe crowds, they compete in the streets in statiums oh the riders make money too and they have a lot of sponsors. I like the tee shirt ideas that mention before we need to post our clubs meeting, events and restults in local papers. I remember when I was young caught a 16lb catfish my parents took a pic the news paper was glad to post it and say a few words its free advertisement for our sport. Also makes the sport look active . I was at a neott trials event this weekend a tv crew came out because they were invited channel 6 in tulsa OK they interviewed Gary Wing shot some video of him going riding and going over a 3 foot log like it was a ant hill Gary will 80 years old this December riding keeps him young how many of you guys know a Gary Wing in your club ? Keep ideas coming hope I can contribute to the sport too
  4. I really like the Tee shirt idea Does anyone put out fliers at the local motorcycle shops or on forums like craigs or fb

    Club Memberships

Great idea having other riders pair up and set section the day of the meet. I think weve lost riders because of burn out, Hope some day to host a large trials event here at my place with a large payout to the riders

  9. Hello All, I would like to hear from you about your clubs. What is your membership? How many show up to ride at events? How many new riders joined this year? And do you have spectators show up to watch your events not just talking about family members showing up to watch. Who has the most successful clubs and why? List your club

    tomorrow we will know
  18. I think that was a national event not a world
  19. I spoke with some of the members back in 05 of couse i was a newbie with big ideas and was not listen to. I still think myself as a newbie but I see a need to make this sport grow. I've been to natc events and never saw a bill board or anything in dealerships or yard sign saying we have a meet here this wekend. As i said earlier I watched 16year old Pat win the round and recieved a beer for a trophy. I think there were around 125 people competeting ,just with entry fees paid on time thats $12500.00 not counting spectators fees. I've ben playing with a system that the riders will win money and a beer or trophy. That same event Pat would made close to $3000 for both days natc would get some and the trials club would also recieve a pay out. also all the other classes that competed have a pay out down to 3rd place. When I find a way to show how its done and I know it works on a large scale I will show everyone. I don't mean to upset anyone but I think there needs to be a new way of doing this sport . for all you guys that want it to stay small thats okay you can still ride with your small groups those that want a bunch I think this will help. We all I think want this sport to be around a long time I have 5 grand kids coming up, one is riding at 4 already his sis is 2 and is tearing up a strider and going over logs. Ariel now has a little guy 1 year with a strider look for him to ride some day I think anyone that wants to ride a motorcycle should start with trials There would be a lot less havoc on the roads Where does that $12500.00 go that was just for just 1 day
  20. Exciting? motocross watch the leader run off from the pack and you look for a couple of guys fighting for 5th place? tennis left, right, left, right left, right ? golf cant wait to see that ball fly and someone walk by ? im 53 never heard of trials never saw a trials motorcycle until 2004 when I was watch Tommy A. on the speed vision . I said to myself I can do that, Im gonna find me one of them bike and do it. I live on the line of Oklahoma and Arkansas I found myself a bike in east Tennessee, now thats a long drive. bought a 2000 GG 280 brought it home and went out to ride like Tommy!!!! Well I dont have time to type the whole story but lets just say Im not near as good as Tommy BUT Im EXCITING those that watched me could not watch for long, afraid of what was going to happen . I decided I had to find some help, A lot of HELP When you see me ask me the story. This sport is very exciting for those who know about go to a world round watch the people shout for there riders blow horns, clap I watched the first world round in Japan this year the fans are great , watched th videos of the indoor and outdoor listen to crowds Our sport is not know in the U.S. NATC is not doing its job Keep comments coming I like what you guys are saying
  21. Glad to have you join. My wife is Taiwan we just came back from there, I ran into a bunch of trials riders there in Taoyuan had a great time riding with them. Maybe next time we come over will try to look and ride . Its a great sport and the folks are nice. Good luck
  22. nottogood im coming back that divorce kinda messed up a lot of things enough said on that. Thanks for the post keep sending ideas i agree with a lot of what your saying. I've watched some good riders leave this sport to go make a living in another sport. I watched a 16 year old Pat Smage travel across the country WIN a competetion and recieve a beer as a trophy at a national event and wasn't even allowed to drink it. Doesn't that make sense? For you guys that like for it to be a small group you can still have your group you remember the old days when went to the motorcycle shop and bought a bike at the big 4 companys can't do that now, well you can buy a Montesa at Honda if you order a year a head . I've loaned bikes and have brought people into the sport its a great way cost money to do that. I like to ride and compete that to cost money and when you have to drive 2,3,4,10 hours or so to compete that cost . As for spectators if they don't know you have a competetion they wont come. How will they know if you don't advertise OH that to COST MONEY I've held events at my house that have a pay out had guys that were opposed to that idea but when they won they took the money funny how that is. I think I have come up with a plan where the riders and the promoters both make money and will grow our sport. I will share this at a later time. I want you fed back on it Thank you again Keenan
  23. sounds right your to tense, your not to tall for the bike, try using your feet more to steer the bike putting more pressure on the pegs to turn oh and ride all the time i find that to be thr most relaxing
  24. I would like to hear your ideas on how to get this sport to grow?
