  1. find yourself a radiator specialist, im sure there will be one near you somewhere if you search around. i took mine when i did the same on my old bike and they repaired it perfectly and said if i had any problems to take it back and they would sort it and did it for something like a fiver which i thought was pretty good seen as though they pressure checked it and everything and did it same day.

    300 pro racing

hi does anyone know what the standard spring length should be on the gasgas 300 racing model 2010 its the ohlins shock. last time i was out on the bike the locking ring came loose and im wondering if it has vibrated itself loose. i would like the spring length please so that i can compare and adjust mine if needed. Thanks coxy

    Gasgas Plug

ok thank you for your help. So by droppin the needle i need to put it onto the bottom setting right? As its on the second from bottom one now. Im riding at the weekend so will try that. The fuel mixture screw is set to what was standard when i got the bike and ive spoken to some other people who say that it is correct. Im sure its the keihin carb that should be set at 1-2 turns out. Cheers coxy!

    Gasgas Plug

if the bike was running too rich which i figured i would of thought that when idling or on low speeds it would like choke itself up am i right in thinking this?? becuase the bike runs sweet as a nut at any amount of revs. Air filter is fine, cleaned after every ride and the right amount of oil is on it so its not that. might try dropping the needle height but dont want to start messing about with the bike if its going to not run right. cheers Coxy

    Gasgas Plug

hi, just wondering if anyone could help me out here, ive got a 2006 gasgas pro 250 and the plug always seems to be really black when i take it out after any riding done. the mixture is set at 3 1/2 turns out, the needle is on the second from bottom setting with standard jets in the carb, mixture we use is 65ml oil to 5 litres of fuel super unleaded and the bike has only recently had an engine rebuild(within last two months), the bike doesnt smoke what so ever when running, on tickover or even when at full revs. Anybody any ideas on what i can do to make the plug the brown colour its suppose to be? cheers coxy

    Gas Gas Sump

hi just wondering if anyone could help me, my sump on my bike ( an 06 txt pro 250) is currently cracking and seems to be close to snapping. does anyone know where i could buy a new one from and how much they will be? also i have the chance of buying a decent condition second hand sump off an 07 pro 125, would this fit straight onto my bike or not?
  9. yeah maybe wiggy isnt the heaviest person but he can do more on a 125 bike then alot of people can do which shows that the bike has the power to do it but yeah you might need to rev it abit more to get it to do the bigger stuff. have you ever rode a 125 in a trial smalley250?? im 14 stone and have rode several 125s and i can tell you that a 125 has more power than you realise and i also know of several guys who ride novice trials who use to have the bigger cc bikes such as the 250 etc and have actually bought newer bikes and gone to 125 bikes as they find them easier to handle, grip better and have improved their scores no end after changing but have enough power for them.
  10. if i was you i would look around and get some test rides before you buy so you know what you want and how the different bikes ride. personally i would say that a 125 would be spot on for you as they have nice soft power and will allow you to learn the correct techniques for riding different things but yet are forgiving enough for you to get out of situations. a 200 would also be good, a little more power but just as easy to ride as a 125.i think that once you get onto the bigger bikes such as a 250 and so on as a novice you rely on the power of the bike to get you around and dont concentrate on technique which is what you need in trials. look at the world round riders especially the likes of wiggy who completed a full year on the junior route on a 125, if the bikes have enough power for them to do the stuff they are doing then the bike has ample power for a club/novice rider.
  11. i normally put 450ml of oil in when changing the gearbox oil, the booklet that comes with the bike says 550ml but obviously when removing the oil some stays inside the bike. remember to warm the bike up before you empty the oil otherwise you will only get half of it out!
  12. if i was to ride the same log as you described then i think that i would get the front wheel above the log when approaching it and fully compress the suspension + slip the clutch with revs on. i would then when the wheel over the top of the log release the clutch quickly as if you where splatting the log and at the same time un compress the suspension and lift the weight off the back wheel and try and bunny hop up and over the log. a log as described with a ten to twenty degree slope wouldnt really require a different technique really but i think that you will find that it will be alot easier to master the technique on one on a slope that it would be the flat as the slope will help you to raise your back wheel off the floor as it sounds as if you are not getting any lift with the back wheel and this is why you are sumping out
  13. if your bike is not new then it would be "normal" for there to be some play in the dog bones as what lowbrow has said, just try and keep them well greased and cleaned and serviced regularly and the amount of play will be minimised, putting new bearings and bushings inot the dog bones can reduce this though if there is alot of play there. i wouldn't bother trying to get the play out as i have tried and trust me you cannot get it out at all.

    Gas Gas Clutch

its definitely the belville spring that im measuring at 1.3mm, although it has been in the bike since new so could this of worn?? ive put a 1.4mm belville spring into the bike and it makes the clutch unbearable to the point where after 1 section of riding would give me arm pump and its not like im not bike fit i ride every weekend. yeah maybe it would be a good idea to fit one of the lipse springs and see how it goes once ive got the bike to peices again. yeah ive been told to fit the bigger clutch hose and cylinder but i too cannot see how doing this would make any difference to the bike what so ever. after taking the bike apart and cleaning the clutch this weekend the clutch didnt seem too bad, heavier than afew other bikes i felt but not to the poiunt where i was getting bad arm pump so im going to leave it for a while and see how it goes. thanks for all your help coxy

    Gas Gas Clutch

i've got a 1.3mm belville spring in ma bike at the moment which is about 0.050" so it can be that its a thicker spring

    Gas Gas Clutch

ive tried the clutch pack and it is exactly 9.75mm as it should as its a brand new clutch pack so that isn't the problem. tried other things like all new o rings in the clutch also and checked that i have no blockages etc in the pipe and that everything is working perfectly fine. ive had this problem ever since i had a new gearbox put into the bike but everything rides fine its just the clutch is heavier. ive not done anything to any part of the bike except the new gearbox, clutch packing and new o rings so any ideas why im having this problem?? cheers coxy

    Gas Gas Clutch

ive been told that the standard spring size for the belville spring is 1.3mm thick in the 06 gassers. do you know anyone in the uk who has one of these lipse springs fitted so i could maybe contact them and see or maybe even try the different belville spring and see how it feels? the reason why i am doing this is because my clutch has become heavy and i am trying to find ways of lightening the clutch without spending masses of money on the bike cheers coxy

    Gas Gas Clutch

hi could someone tell me what difference it would make if i put a new clutch spring ( the round tapered one ) which is 1.2mm thick rather than the standard 1.3mm thick? cheers coxy

    Swingarm Bearings

ive taken the bearing out and i have cleaned up the bearing as good as possible and cannot read the bearing reference number on the swingarm bearings and ive looked on the gguk website and they use the bt or mt bearing number which doesn't help when im using a different source to get these bearings so if anyone knows the correct number for the swingarm bearings actually located in the swingarm then that would be alot of help ive had a look on the simplybearing website and have found them to be quite expensive to the company that i am using so the bearing numbers would be of much help thanks coxy

    Gg Settings

hi could some one tell me what the fuel/air mixture screw and the needle height position should be set at on a gas gas 250 2006 model with the standard dellorto carb as my bike seems to be smoking a hell of alot and the plug is black as hell when its took out. im running oil at 60ml for every 5 litres of fuel aswell. thanks alot coxy
  23. obviously like you say the main thing is to practise as much as possible but start with the basics and move on as you progress and try and ride with someone better than you as much as possible! another thing is to try and ride sections that are challenging and cannot be cleaned on your first few attempts rather than just tweedle around and not learn anything

    Gg Exhaust

hi ive got a problem, my front pipe on my bike doesnt seem to seal where the exhaust goes into the barrel. it seems that the gasket doesnt hold the exhaust tight and seal it properly which causes a leak and also a loose frontpipe even with the bolts tightened fully. im just wondering if anyone has any ideas on how i can get the exhaust to seal, ive thought about using two gaskets as theres quite abit of space between the exhaust end and the back of the hole where the gasket sits, would this work or not and do you have any other ideas that would solve the problem? thanks coxy

    Gg Heavy Clutch

yeah its worth trying it out with the oil i just cant see how after using the same oil for nearly 4 years that it could suddenly change. im going to go home tonight and try the belleville spring as ive got like 5 in the garage and my dad has measured them and weve got them ranging from 1.2 to 1.7mm so im guessing the thinnest one would be best right?? also going to try with the thing about taking the casing off and seeing if its hard to pull still etc to eliminate it been a hydraulic problem. my clutch pack height has been measured several times and is around 9.82mm so that is fine maybe on the large side but its in tolerance so not going to bother changing that at all. im getting mixed messages about the bigger hose thing as some people say it will make it lighter and some dont. has anyone actually puty a bigger hose on and noticed any difference?? thanks for all your help guys its been a massive help to try and eliminate the problem
