  1. does any body know much about these bikes I understand that the frames were made by Sammy Miller but was they an improvment in terms of riding position- ground clearance- steering - grip does any body on here own and use 1 any advice would be good as I have the chance to buy 1 in a very nice condition Booma

yea I go with Angus PJ1 light gear oil 75W, no slip no drag
  7. Thanks for all your positive comments guy's as for stripping the bike down it didn't take long the frame was shot blast then powder coated silver the tank and the front mudguard I painted myself with paint from a aerosol the casings were sprayed in Yamaha silver engine case paint. The black fork guards are from Sammy Millers and the stickers I had cut from my local sticker shop, hope this is of help to anybody wanting to have a go at making your bike individual Booma

    Tlr Got The Blues

just thought I would share this 1 with you guys, you may remember I posted this bike in red and white well now it has a new cover and a new back mudguard hope you all like it BOOMA
  13. the red\orange ones are impossible to find new as Honda rs stated but I bought an original white Honda front muguard complete with bracket from my local Honda dealer in Rochester Kent not cheap at
  14. had a similar problem with my rev3 03 model, turn out to be the woodruff key had sheared causing the timing to slip, as you have the flywheel cover off ring your nearest trials repair shop to see if the have a flywheel extractor its only a 5 minute job and should cost very little hope this helps good luck
  15. my mates got a bag load of old fantic gear some ex saunders some ex jarvis he's even got steve saunders crash helmet !!! and he does have a pair of Brema pants your after mail him on dave.burroughs@virgin.net he may want to sell some items but don't hold your breath !!! good luck
  16. looks tidy James, plus the wheel rims have been changed so they won't have the dreaded rot are you going to modify it in any way or just ride it as it is
  17. a handy thing to have if your messing about with the engine is a manual, I got a Clymer manual with covers this model as well as other models do a search on google or ebay to find 1 , mine came from the States but I'm not sure if anybody does them over here as for an ally gear lever I swap mine from my Beta rev3 as I like my lever to be just above horizontal as for the footrests I leave the standard brackets on the frame but buy after market pegs then trim the back edge down by 3mm then reweld a small plate in the back the holes on the standard bracket are 14mm from back to centre of hole where as the Hebo ones are 17mm, the kickstart will just rub but with a bit of warming up and slight tweeking you can bend the kickstart out to miss the peg
  18. I could complete a bike in about a week if I worked full time on it but in my spare time they take about 3 weeks as for the spare parts I sometimes sell them on with the bike or just lately I've put them on ebay lights with all wiring went for 46.00 tank = 83.00 seat = 30.00 mudguards = 43.00 levers = 10.00 total 212.00 + postage so as you can see you can recoup some of the money by selling off the unwanted parts
  19. this was my first attempt at doing up Honda's back in 2000 the red and white one is my latest and my 3rd 200 I've done 2 tlr250 in rothmans colours 1 tlr200 in blue and white (this one) and 2 tlr200 in red and white they're great fun to do if you have the time and to have something different from standard
  20. a BIG MUST is to change the oil often, I change mine after 2 trials some may say more some less, your bike sounds well sorted x11's, wes, falcons are all good things to have weak points on the bike are noisy camshafts (due to not changing oil often) wheels corrode from the inside out (the back 1 more than the front) footrest mounts rust from inside the frame other than that I think they are excellent, I've done a couple up this year which I've sold but have keeped my last 1 the pic which you saw in another posting the red\white 1 good luck Booma
  21. thanks James, it didn't look like this when I bought it!!! but it doesn't take to long to get it how you want it the seat and tank unit is
  22. bought a renault master back in dec 03 a 99 "T" plate from Colchester car auctions for 3k it had 98k genuine miles on the clock with a full service history, in fact it had been service 14 times by a main dealer, I still have it the clock now shows 170k and all that when wrong was the clutch slave cylinder seals went and a stone ruined my radiator the engine is a 2.5 deisel non turbo, it goes well bit slugish on the hills when its fully loaded to its maximum weight good driving position very comfy on long journys great for trials, loads of room plus you can stand up in it which is ideal when changing into your trials gear a bit juicy on fuel .15p per mile when driven hard fully loaded wouldn't want to change it for anything else unless it was a new 1
  23. well some very tasty looking bikes out thier lots of newish stuff so here's a pic of my old Honda tlr 200 just to balance things up
