2000 models had the older delorto's, 01 onwards have phbl fitted as stock so you may want to look as mentioned at carbs.. ta B

Hi Rich, I think your options for aftermarket silencers are Dep (which I think the one on the Sandiford page is) which dont look or sound as nice as the standard item IMHO, or the mitani silencer which is around 200 quid and is styled like the works bike with a straight through pipe for a little more umph. I'm not sure if you can still get the standard item your best bet is to keep an eye on ebay where they turn up from time to time. Gives me an excuse to post a picture of a mitani equipped 315 with said silencer. Cheers Guy

Hi My 04 has a keihin fitted and it is considered an upgrade, though as the bike had it fitted when I got it I dont know what difference it makes over standard. Makes more top end (in theory) I believe 28 mm bore as oppose to 26mm. The big guns 300cc bikes have em fitted so I think you need the cc to get the best out of em. Mine runs fine though with the keihin Ta B

Hi All, After getting my last bike nicked I managed to get a very clean 04 315r a few months ago. It's got a keihin PWK fitted as oppose to the standard dellorto. I've not been able to get out on it for one reason or another until this weekend ... Anyhow I was itching to finally go for a blast on it !! It started fine (second kick) and ran fine on the choke but as soon as I knocked that off the bike would run for a few seconds then die. If I ran it on the choke it would run for a bit longer then die. The only way to then start it would be to bump it off down a hill. Today I've drained the petrol off (as the bile has been standing) and put a fresh tank in. It now runs a lot better, it will run off the choke but it pinks a bit about quarter throttle and the throttle response is not as sharp and clean off the bottom as my old dellorto quipped bike was. Is the bike running a bit lean (to account for pinking) as when the chokes on my old bike used to race a bit until the choke was knocked off as this one doesnt. If so what do I need to fix the mixture !! I dont have a clue about carbs as I never had to do anything with the dellorto equipped bikes. so any advice om setting up the card is greatly appreciated. I was expecting the bike to be have turned into a rocket ship but thats far from the case. Apart from the keihin issue I'm well chuffed, no clutch drag the engines jewel smooth as is the suspension. My dads garage was broken into last night and my 04 315 was stolen . It is easy to identify as it had a mitani silencer and sump guard And a few carbon bits on it , fork leg protectors etc Any info gratefully received Thanks Guy

I think there's a dyno chart somewhere on todotrial comparing a 315 and 4rt engine, I guess you could probably google it.. 315r produces more torgue and power at low to mid range, 4rt revs higher and has more peak power from what I remember anyway. Never had a go on a 4rt so I cannae compare to my 315 Cheers

Hello All carb/tuning experts!! I've got a Kevlar Airbox cover (Mitani) for my 315 and as its a lot loss restrictive (In theory anyway I'm guessing..) the bike will be getting more air so will be running leans thus the mixture will need richening?? If my presumption is correct how do I go about doing this?? the bike seems to run ok at the moment. Mixture/carbs/jetting has always been a bit of dark art to me, the bikes an 04 BTW Thanks in advance B

Nice job... where did you get the rear fender from!! I like the original long ride seat .. looks like a raleigh chopper!!!
