Taddy couldn't click with the beta apparently and was carrying an injury, think Sean is fed up finishing 9th 10th etc but not too sure.
-
Unless I am mistaken Shaun Morris and Taddy Blasusiek are no longer taking part in the WTC, as raised in another thread.

Stevo
Tom scott and a couple of other Aussies were there and they were a little overwhelmed by section severity (see scores), but they were having a go.
the severity has simply been led by the increasing skill levels which have even moved up more since the bou took charge on his move to montesa.
The sections in France were very tough, and why they had to go that far defies reason but the French are a strange race full stop. Sections were overly long and included alot of very difficult no run up steps, but the biggest problem was that because of these type of steps many sections were fived by a majority of riders just not getting up.
There were far too many blue route sections which matched the red route, in fact the 15' rock face section 3 which is refered to in the TC report was a blue route before being changed.
Make no mistake Bou's ride was exceptional, and I just can't see anyone beating him.
Michael brown did really well to produce a score like that but when he had 3 guys to catch on one section (me included, he didn't need us) its probably too much.
So back to the original point there are ways of marking out sections with or without 15' splatters but the trick is more to get the severity right big or small, and after all the WTC is for the elite and will always be so.

isn't that where mick andrews lives?
-
..........or you could do what we used to and thats losen off the engine bolts and jump off the biggest thing you dare or drive it into a (solid) brick wall. Strange but true!

$120 plus sales tax say $8 $128is only a good price because of the exchange rate, so that just doesnt hold up.
Costco in the uk is the cheapest place unless you regularily buy from a local dealer I doubt you will better their price.
Our club did a bulk buy with a local wholesaler and that brought the price down but not enough to make a difference.
The differential in makes in the usa are all down to the irc and dunlop being less popular I assume.
The prices in France are the same (afaik) so the choice is yours.
-
no disrespect to shaun but he is not usually top ten in the WTC.
The fact that dibs dropped only the few he did in Scotland surely means that the wtc needs harder sections.
The two trials are incomparable, and one caters for the worlds elite and the other, well, I could ride that if i got fit and took some magic potion which would make me 20 years younger/ slimmer.
That aside the impression that all the wtc sections are 15 ft splatters is not at all accurate. Will update from France this weekend if of intrest?

A beader is the easy way, strapping works ok on old tyres but not as well on new, ditto innertubes, and you need the exact size tube, which if you have to buy is part cost of the beeder anyway. The right tools for any job make it easier surely?
-
one of the best trials i've done in a while, shame they couldn't get enough observers took the edge off a good event.
-
TOP 5 provisional
Jarvis 10
morris 21
brown 26
colley29
wigg 54
-
The Portugese are really bad drivers
-
sherco moto website is helpful the better one is RYPUSA, go on there and see how you get on.
Starting is easy, best get a new plug and fresh gas then choke up a few kicks and she will start, warm it up gently and then shut the choke off, away you go.
1 choke up to start
2 just a little throttle to start
3 no on switch
4 should be able to swap plug ok once loosened do it by hand? to take the tank off is one bolt, so if you are working on it do that?
new plug and gas is the way to go. Check you have a nice spark?
-
I've never done verdon but understand it is a good event, twice as far to go as Sardent and I think the ride round is long, also 5 days can be a bit much for us oldies, but I hope to try it soon.
One I would avoid is Averyon.
-
Now then jack it would be easy to tell you but its about time you sorted this finding places yourself, meant in a kind way.
I will give you an os map reference and I'm betting your school has map 165 so here goes.
sp 945 050
let me know.............
-
S3 would be a good choice and if you find it ok but feel two laps a bit much then you can do just the one. Randonnier is like an easy route in a 3 route trial.
-
I do s3 which is sort of 50/50 s2 was a bit harder and would be ok for most centre experts where do you ride and what class?
-
imho the best french trial, easy to get lots of plces to stay laid back organisation and GOOD sections, if you think you can get there do it!
-
Dom/Atom i'm with the outlaw on this one, the evidence of those there that the Sherco 4t was suspect in the conditions on the Monday when jarvis lost 18, is pretty near the mark. Possibly I accept early number versus dibs late one, but this is all academic and not provable either way.
What is imprtant is DIBS WON!!!!
This heralds in the "new era" who knows what might have been it matters not, but with Michael Brown second equal and Alexz thereabouts these 3 are going to give us something special in the next few years, of that I'm sure.
Would anyone bet against a win for these boys in the TDN 2009?
And really isn't it time the ACU used the talent and experience of Jarvis Colley and of course Doug got these together and do something with the talent we have now?
(Sorry didn't want to hijack thread)
-
Is this a true reflection of one of the best in the usa? Is this why none of the other top riders do the ssdt?
-
Guess work but from what I can gather/guess
Dibs 21 winner
Jarvis 35
Brown 36
mac 45
Pasq 45 not too sure on this
Wiggy 46
colomer48ish
ben hem 48ish
Well done to dibs and fantastic result by Alexz Wigg.

Yep found that but not detailed as to who won which awards either, guess its in the scottish book but not the web?

QUOTE(John.B @ May 12 2007, 08:33 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Sherco have released pictures and information regarding the new Cabestany Replica on their website. The bike has two digital ignition maps which you can select to suit the obstacles or terrain you are riding, I guess Sherco have been reading our posts about "how to tame the beast" and "retarding the 290 ignition debates" and decided to give us a toy to play with. As with last years bike a Keihin carb is fitted and it looks like the radiator position has been lowered as well to aid cooling and lower the centre of gravity.
The graphics designer for Sherco must hate blue or be colour blind because blue is not featured anywhere, I can find black, red, yellow, white, grey and silver but can't find blue!
Cabestany 07 Replica.
So thats a carb and repositioned rad and different colours, hardly a "Raga" is it?
-
is there anywhere on the web where you can access past results?

Try a pro and a sherco.
Then try the scorpa.
If you fancy a fourstroke the scorpa sherco or 4rt may suit you.
what about a beta?
