This is not a good bike for a beginner, why not get something better suited, theres plenty of choice out there.

If you have to take measures to calm the bike down so you can ride it then this is the wrong bike to start with.

You answered your own question about blocked idle jet!

Carb off and proper clean of the jets, then fully synthetic at 80:1 and away you go.

4 stroke noise does travel further.

If a 2 stroke bike & a four stroke both record, say, 100 Db on the sound meter, the 4 stroke will be heard from a greater distance.

However i do think in this case a standard evo 4T is pretty quiet.

You don't want to be using any more oil than 80:1, use a fully synthetic oil.

Many bikes are made to look newer than they actually are by the fitting of later plastics.

Make sure you know what to look for to identify your model year.

Its a nice bike, but its only worth half that.

The gear lever is out there so you can't accidentally change gear whilst riding the bike in a section.

You soon get used to taking your foot off to shift, some people like to angle the lever upwards and change up with their heel.

If you pop yourself right out of the section then you have other fundamental problems to deal with!

The key to getting the rear wheel in the air, especially from stationary is to release the clutch lever sharply at the moment the rear suspension starts to unload.

Get this right and the move suddenly becomes a LOT easier.

Most people run a ratio of 80:1.

This is 62ml of oil to 5 litres of petrol.

Use only full synthetic oil.
