looked at the wiring and it all looks untouched going out today, will see if it stays on all the time

I have noticed that our 125 runs as soon as the bike is started I presume this is not normal should I change the stat or is it ok to run all the time ?

cheers I just got my new rubber on tuesday from yourselves (really prompt delivery cheers)its the correct one ok I ordered the trumpet today after speaking to the supplier, he recons it is perfect for my problem and has sold them before for the same issue, I did wonder about the diameter as it looks bigger to me. I almost hope it is bigger as it will be closer to the diameter of the airbox if this is the case I will get a hose to suit easier will see how I get on thanks

just found this anyone any experience of it, it will allow the carb rubber to sit further back on the airbox I think

got it all on but its really tight, the carb and airbox just dont point directly at each other, stressing the whole thing it would be better if the carb airbox boot was 10mm longer, allowing it to slide right up the airbox snout any ideas ?

gave it a bit of heat and it straightened up like new worked out that it has been caused by a overtightened jubilee clip will offer it up to the bike tomorrow night after I get a new joint rubber and see how it fits cheers

yes I think I will put a pipe up the inside and make it round as you say with the heat gun the snout is square with the airbox ok it just the odd shaped side thats making things difficult no idea how it got like this, the plastic is so hard theres no chance of it bending thanks very much

Have just recently got my 10 year old an as new 06 125 great bike but terrible for getting dirt in the airbox after washing (my fault so will make a bung of some sort) my problem is that after removing the airbox and carb for cleaning it just wont go back on the plastic airbox extension is pear shaped to the silencer side, is this normal ? when I offer up the airbox its as if the airbox snout is a good 10mm off line towards the silencer, therefore the carb rubber has to twist badly to the left to meet the carb. this being so short that the rubber doesnt sit square on the airbox and runs the risk of letting air in I am going to get a new rubber boot to see if this helps or is there a more flexible pipe (and longer) that could take its place many thanks

cheers for taking the time to explain all that think I will keep an eye out for a Sherco or Gas Gas and will certainly be buying on condition as you recomended understand the Beta is a quality bike but think left hand kickstarts is unnatural and reminds me of a 1978 Bultaco

I am looking to buy my son a used 125 I have a 315 montesa but only play on it and dont attend trials So I have no idea which 125 is good or any issues the various models have. Thinking of a bike of around 08 vintage my two choices seem to be Gas Gas or Sherco any insights ?? thanks

our ty80 is showing signs of slight wheel bearing wear the bike is still ok to use but I would like to put a front and rear set on the shelf for the future has anybody any idea of the front and wheel bearing sizes many thanks

had one of these until very recently mine was also a nightmare to start and then would not rev out I tried all the things you have and more in the end I took the barrel off (5 minute job) and found the exhaust port at the piston very coked up, 10 minutes gouging with a screwdriver let the biggest amount of rubbish I have ever seen out. new head gasket and bike started 2nd kick and could pull me (19 stone) admirably round the garden make sure the collector box is not blocked (you may need to cut the back out of it) these wee bikes are bullit proof and the best starter bike by miles, don't give up there is a dedicated pw site where I feel you may have a better audience and some very knowledgable pw owners who have seen everything and more http://pwonly.com

I have found the manual it says 85cc of 10/30 oil in each leg. Or you can use a comparable fork oil of your choice. What does 10/30 compare to as i would probobly rather use fork oil

any ideas of how much oil goes in each fork leg after a total strip down and oil type

yes it is all coming back to me you could use the carb i have or as some did, put the left carb from a 350LC on the ty (it had choke) I think they were Mikuni from memory my bike ran perfect jetting was sorted, although it may be taller and sits a bit funny. (I think)

I have a Delorto PHBH26 carb which I have had from new basicaly I am thinking of off loading it and do not want to mislead any one so am looking for some advice as to how good my memory is (and if the carb is of any use) I owned a 1984 250 mono (first ones out) For some reason at this time it was the thing to do to change the carb to make the bike run better I used it for a year then sold the bike but kept the carb Is my memory correct and is this a thing anyone else remembers. I can't even remember if it was significantly any better than standard any views ??

only running on premix, oil tank is gone think i may need something put down the exhaust to flush oil residue out, not too sure (with it off of course) seem to remember putting caustic soda down the exhaust of my moped 20 years ago, any ideas

had the ty 80 out in a field learning gears etc and there is a large amount of oil running from the silencer and in the air ending up as black spots all over the wee lads back. obviously the first thing I think of is mixture of fuel. Currently running at 40:1 motorex 2t fully synthetic what is the proper ratio ? best way to get exhaust cleaned out ? any other ideas

by memory its an "R" early N had a plastic tank then R had metal tank then pinky was blue frame, silver wheels and back to plastic tank (and disc of course) mechanicly I think they were much the same hope all this is true but its as I remember it

it is a very significant book so it would need to be in pdf form need to sort the pdf bit as I don't have the version to make it , but if I can help I will. probobly make it available to others, as it seems rare then probobly get locked up by Yamaha !!!

I have just promised a manual for your bike to a man in Dublin today !!! Is there anything specific you need to know ? I could scan pages and email them to you before I part with the manual I will have a look i might even have another, but no promises as its been a while. The side stands were rubbish by the way (made from the worst aluminium ever) I had an after market one fitted, John shirt made them but you had to take the swinging arm out to get it welded on. No idea if they are still arround. But forget about looking for an original

I have a owners/service manual for a ty250n mono metal tank circa 1995 It is in excellent condition its free to a good home or even better a swap for a ty80 manual would be nice
