  1. And I'm done. For now.... Linkage bearings replaced. Reeds fitted and carb jetted. New tyres went on this morning. Front brake gave me headaches with wrong parts and seized pistons but rebuilt from bottom to top and seem to be working well. Road electrics removed and lanyard fitted Just need to ride her and get comfortable riding it. Training day in a few weeks and I haven't gelled with the bike yet. Just clutch and fork strip down when I can be a***d. Sick of greasy hands for now.
  2. It would appear they are both the same venue. Only 15 minutes from my father in laws place. Result.
  3. And this. http://www.bikersrest.com
  4. North Devon somewhere. Bikers rest and muddy wheels. Looking to go to one of these soon. Got family in North Devon so that's the wife and kids occupied. https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=trials+hokiday+north+Devon&oq=trials+hokiday+north+Devon&aqs=chrome..69i57j33.7771j0j4&client=ms-android-h3g-gb&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8
  5. Sounds like my issue. Brake lever holds firm for 5-6 seconds then creeps to the bar. No leaks good pads and flushed and bled. Noticed when squeezing the lever hard with cover off it shoots fluid out of the res. Piston kit for both ends on route. Fingers crossed.
  6. Advice needed lads. Heard about restrictors in the exhaust and they have already been removed. Also heard about a restrictor above the reed cage. Would that be the white hdpe block in the picture. Should it be removed or left In place. Cheers. Air flow director?
  7. Ha only just watched this video last night Picked up a couple of brand new 24" unicycles at a car boot Monday as balance toys. Wouldn't catch me up there.
  8. If the knobblies are still pliable and you've got grip use it.if there rock hard might be time to change. I ran the old tyres I bought the bike with until I started hitting bigger obs and found I haveas struggling for grip then shelled out for xlites. Shame I sold the bike a month after lol. New tyres again.
  9. Any ideas where I can get an open cover or is it a matter of making or nodding an old one?
  10. Sprockets changed, new chain shortened, new lever adjusters scrounged and levers fettled, All 3 sections of the exhaust cleaned as best I can and muffler repacked. Carb cleaned as I had to strip half the bike to get the mid box off. Gearbox oil changed. Still sticking when cold but the clutch action is feather light with progressive engagement. Clutch will have to be stripped next oil change. Ready for the mornings ride. Few more jobs but no rush other than the new reeds and improving the front brake. Everything else when I've got time. Back brake is working properly too. Po had kinked the pipe around the Carb. All the exhaust restrictors appear to be removed too. Any tips for thinning out the wiring loom. Still got all the road kit wiring in place
  11. That's my plan too. Might dimple the plates while I've got them out too. I try and plan around Friday rides so i keep chipping away evening and weekends and make sure she's back together for Friday's. Finally got my sherco finished and thought I could have a rest then ended up with this. No rest for the wicked. Much nicer bike. Never did any work on my old one but obvious now I'm working on it how good the build quality is
  12. Making progress. Wheel bearings done. Pads changed and disks had some tlc Rear linkages serviced. One siezed bearing to change out when it arrives. Managed to unsieze the dampener adjustment screw without shearing and appears to be working. Air filter was minging too. She cam breathe freely again. Hopefully sprockets and chain arrive tomorrow ready for my Friday night ride. Still got lots to do to her mind. Check for restrictors and clean the exhaust. Po ran 50:1 Service the forks (not looking forward to that) New reeds Check clutch, drags really bad (waiting on oil) Make a new airbox cover (still running original) Once that's done I might consider a new car, exhaust mod and new delta link.
  13. Just swapped my 05 sherco125 for a 01 315r In good nick. Very nice bike and gelled with it instantly (owned an 02 a few years back but misfortune made me sell) Few little bits to replace and wondering where people recommend for Montesa parts these days. Hah just noticed I've still got my old mont as my profile pic. :/
  14. Delorto is a fuel screw. Out = more fuel. Looked into this and found conflicting advice. Some say 2 and a half. Some 3 and a half. Currently mine is 3 turns out. New jets on the way for tuning. Get a bit flat 2/3 or so throttle.
  15. Had the pleasure of riding an 05 a sherco 250 back to back with my 125 of the same year. Although there's only a minor difference in weight the 125 feels a lot smaller and lighter. Recent suspension updates have mahnified the feeling too. That said. A 2014 gg I tested recently feels similar to my 125 on size and weight.
  16. Morning Guys. Thanks for the tip re TRP il be keeping my eyes out for one or the other reconditioned. Baldilocks I've got no idea what forks were on previous gasgas I'm relatively new and only owned and ridden a 315 and my sherco. I would like to fit some shocks with some adjustment as my 315 used to have and was hoping these would do it. This was what I was looking at. Ebay no 231944730215

    Shock Swap

Been riding 9months or so this time around and progressed a lot further than.my first forays. Riding an 05 sherco 125 that is mechanically sound and very good condition for its age however the suspension isn't what it could be. Im able to aquire a set of shocks from a gasgas contact pro (year unknown) 38mm and from what I can gather they should be a straight swap (axle?) can anyone confirm. Rear shock I will be looking to replace with an ohlins if I can find one for a reasonable price. Unless anyone has a cheaper suggestion. Cheers Rob
  18. Let me know when your all sorted and il hopefully make it the same weekend. No riding this weekend For me.
  19. Good to hear, will be signing up for the new year, how does it work there? When does it open for practice and do you pay a fee on the day? Pay your membership and if you want a key you pay a deposit on it. come and go as you please (daylight hours)) But make sure you have a responsible person with you incase of accident . I normally ride every other Sunday and have always found someone to ride with. AFAIK if you join now it should cover you for the whole of next yea . Check there website. Don't forget acu licence if you want to enter trials. Rob
  20. Yup I'm a buzzard member. Been going since the summer and loving it too. Try to get up there every other Sunday and I always find people to ride with there. There's Been quite a few recent starters over the winter too So riders of all abilities abou .
  21. Started riding trials about 6 years ago.had maybe 20 outings on my first bike before I had to sell it (van died) but I hit big wall after a wot over logs in a stream bed. knocked my confidence massively and was always hesitant to hit bigger obstacles. roll forward 6 years and I decided another bike would be good. Opted for a 125 this time and it was a good choice.feel I'm able to ride the bike rather than being ridden and gave me the confidence to hit bigger obstacles.. Setting up the clutch and brake to allow one finger on levers at all times helped too. I'll have a good warm up of body and bike when I ride before hitting stuff I'm confident on then ill start pushing myself.. best thing for confidence is riding with people better than you So you can see it's possible and have a go.
  22. http://www.lewisportusa.com/manuals.htm the wiring harness diagrams might give you a clue. Used it to help troubleshoot somebody's poor job removing the lights on mine.
  23. I'm In the next village fella. Curious about your other spots now lol. Let me know when your good to ride MF and ill join ya usually manage a full day every other Sunday.
  24. I be looking at joining berko next year too. I'm junction 13 so mount farm is a 15 minute drive for me. 45 or so to berko. Rocks banks logs no woodland unfortunately but great for practice at all levels and comps.
  25. Welcome to trial bud. Bedfordshire rider here too not been going too long either. Where are you planning to ride. I joined Milton buzzard trials club and can use there practice ground 7 days a week. Worth the 20 odd quid a year. Always people to ride with at the weekends. If you Google Milton buzzard and check the links page there's a link to a local mechanic specialising in trials. Haven't used him myself bit could be worth a look.
