  1. Hi there Apologies for what might seem like an obvious question, but I'm new to Villiers engines ! I want to change the gearbox sprocket on my 8E engine to lower first gear - first glance doesn't look as easy as it is on all the other bikes I have - just thought I would ask advice before I start cheers John
  2. Depending upon numbers then some clubs will put conducted route on (separate from main trial). I know Consett/Stanley used to (I used to help run them) but depends upon numbers. Invariably what happens is after a year the kids progress to main route, and if there is no one behind then the conducted trials stop. It is a great introduction tho. I guess if you could muster up some numbers and then ask ? Richmond definitely do conducted which are very good. Ted has ran them for years and continues, and again they are an excellent introduction. Hope this helps cheers John

    Tx250 Sump Plug

Quick Question... Rebuilding a TX250 (125cc) two bolts on the underside of engine - is the centre one the sump plug and the other to hold kick-start spring ? cheers John

    Vertigo Launch

Good luck, and a great looking bike, no doubt the upper end of the trials market will flock to buy.....but flock to by a very very niche market. Completely agree that every step forward is indeed a step forward, and occasionally a game-changer will come (discs/monoshock ......ECU mapping ....maybe not..... ???) All of the developments in some way filter down to the layman is great - and to have a new trials model, British influence is fantastic ! (please find a UK rider ...........) Bring on Vertigo to the masses of trials.... BUT ........ I would say 99% of trials riders would like a brand new clubman bike ...............<£4K, reliable, easy maintenance (ride/wash/lube/2 hr maintenance/put away/spend time with family/ride..........repeat from step 2.....) Not to hijack thread tho.........so good luck, great bike, and great development (which needs a WTC British rider !) cheers John

    Xr75

Very very nice......... less than £1000 would be giving it away !
  9. Thanks for the posts and advice, much appreciated ! Turbo - yep still on with TLM, almost complete now. Could not source big bore, but everything else complete ready for Christmas. Didn't intend to get another, but the fantic was a good price, and looking ahead my son will need a 125 twinshock so couldn't resist! Your right tho, can't have too many bikes and projects on the go...... Latest stable consists of...TLR200, TL125, sprite 150 (3 mine), whitehawk 80, TLM 50, fantic 125, italjet 50 (all my sons) and we have a 2012 beta 80 and 2 bantams up for sale........ Happy days ! Cheers John
  10. Hi there Just bought a Fantic 125 to restore. A few questions (apols - first Fantic!) - Any ideas what year ? Runs great, but seems a bit lacking in power and pick up from the bottom end. Is this just how they are, or possible carb rebuild ? Does anyone have specs of standard carb jetting etc for a carb rebuild ? To tidy up the tank, what's the best bet ? Does anyone do vinyl tank covers (I used to use them years ago when I did MX in the 80's ....) Side panels - best advice ? - or just keep an eye out on ebay ? Any general advice appreciated ! cheers John

    Honda Tlm50

Apologies to back onto thread ! If like to know mix ratio as well (I was going to use 100cc per 5litres as per my sons ty80 ?) Also what is the recommended gearbox oil quantity ? ......and finally ... I'm having no luck with a big bore kit ...any ideas ??- or will a bigger carb be a help ?? Cheers John
  12. No problem, go for middle route ! ps - I've been at it 12 year and I'm completely useless Where was Sunday ? - just last Sunday was the Travers national in Weardale, nothing else on in North East ? Unless you meant Saturday at Bedburn?
  13. 11th October Consett are doing a very easy route as well as the usual easy, clubman etc at Butsfield. But look at any North East centre trial and it will give you a good idea cheers John
  14. Bit off the subject, but photo prompted it..... Does anyone have a contact number etc for Peter Gaunt ? I'm re-building a TLM 50 for my son, and wanted to ask about how he increased his cc.... cheers John
  15. Latest update No joy from company in Holland (vsmotoparts) - spoke to them and they just said to have a look on the website for something I thought would fit ?? I have a friend who lives in Japan ( search on youtube and loads of videos of TLM50's trialling in japan !) who is investigating out there..... cheers John
  16. Hi there Ill post the reply from the company in holland when I get a reply after the holidays Cheers John
  17. Thanks for the note - I've emailed but the company are on holiday so I'll hopefully get sorted. Have you got any photos of your tlm ? Cheers John
  18. Thanks for the latest update I've seen the fantic 80 on ebay - looks a decent bike at a good price - typical, one turns up when you don't want one !! Tlm 50 rebuild well on the way. On dismantling found it a sound bike, nothing untoward up to now. I've seen 60cc kit available so probably go that route as well I'll post some photos when finished, might be a few months tho as no hurry - it's a Christmas present Cheers John

  20. Thanks for that ! Yeah I've seen Peter Gaunt riding his at some trials - and it certainly is capable ! (as he is as a rider !) We have tried the TLM before strip down - Its being prepped for my sons Christmas present (he's 12) and it works well - just need to rev and splat to get the front end up - but seems a great little bike - a great step uf from his Whitehawk 80 cheers - and think I'll invest in the 60cc kit John
  21. Hi there Got a TLM 50 for my son, and was after a big bore kit. I cant find anything TLM specific, but can find an MT50 60cc kit below - apparently the same engine ? Can anyone confirm before I buy ? http://www.patternparts.net/fcm-Barrel__Big_Bore_Kits-Honda_MT_50-18-69.aspx cheers John

took capacitor off tonight and one of the terminals had snapped off - so hopefully an easy fix ! Got to say all of the wiring was soaked tho - so better waterproofing to try when I rebuild ! thanks for the help cheers John

    Tlm 50 ?

Just been trawling the net and it seems Honda MT50 engine is the same as TLM 50 ? Lots of Big Bore barrel/piston conversions available for MT50........ what do you think ? cheers John

    Tlm 50 ?

Hi there Just got my son a TLM and was looking for the big bore option. I know Peter Gaunt has 62cc in his. What is the best option for a little more cc's ? I'm looking for something relatively simple cheers John

    Beta 4T 300 Fan

Hi there Fan was running erratically last night at a trial. Would run, then stop, then slow, then run etc Bike was getting very hot so called it a day to save damage I've had a look on Tc forums and seems to be capacitor ? Assumption correct? If so, exactly where is it located, and likely source for new one? Many thanks John
