  1. Tim, thought you to be a bit sharper than that My bottom line on this topic was I don't think the results from last weekends indoor where a true reading of form. The next rounds could verify this one way of or the other. And no! I don't expect the first two places to alter just the overall results to be closer.
  2. I don't know how long JTT has been in trials Steve, but I do know you were in trials in the mid eighties, that was the last time HRC ran a works fourstroke trial team, not a bad year first year a second and third in the oudoor championship, and all looked set for them taking the championship the following season, then about this time of year when all the contracts with the other teams looked in place, Honda pulled the plug and walked away, leaving riders and a lot of other people scratching their heads as to what just happened. I don't think we will see the same happen again, but at this time they employ and put a lot of $$$$ into trials and I don't know! but would think the top sales of trials bikes would be GG and the other companies would close to the same, HRC Montesa, are good for trials whether you like that brand or not. The FIM set a date on four stroke machines only in championship comp for 05, with the 315 coming to the end of it's run and a new machine needed since it takes years to get to the comp stage why would you go any other way but 4t, JTT says they have the $ and political power to push change, they didn't push the dates back to who the hell knows when, it was the smaller companies applying the political power. In all sports the best way to get an advantage is play on your oppositions weakness, in trials this is hard to do because the companies don't have much say in the course, or do they? I think the result of the Barcelona event didn't tell the whole story even though the first two places look true to form, Dabster picked up on it and that was the margin of Fagardo against the other riders, T. Gaerade [spelling] only won one world event, only win for the TY mono yam also, after the first lap he came in with half the score of the rest of the field, it just happened to be on is home course, did it seem strange did he pre ride the sections? who knows but the form didn't weigh up. Why do the riders on pre course inspections start heaving big kickers into place or use anything they can find to try and alter the section to their advantage, it's on video as plain as day riders hacking away at stuff to change it, if influence on section design can be used don't you think it will?
  3. Well keep diggin away lads, this sport could do with less sponsored riders and teams, hell GG as enough spare cash to pay all the top riders top $$$$$$$$
  4. ban on tabs in section next the Don Smith, fag end rule. A rider may not fire up a fag unless it was lit before the rider entered the corridor.
  5. Daft bugger you forgot to put the arms with the cup holders on them
  6. Yes you are! stirring the **** best you can. But try growing a spine and say what you think instead of trying to lead others on to do it for you.
  7. Thanks Woody, you got my point across better than I did. The Octagon report on the event says the same thing [Q] Dougie Lampkin failed when attempting the impressive hazard circuit. The Briton could perform in the most technical sections but it was impossible for him to succeed in the sections where more power of the machine was required [Q] Only Doug, Fuji, and Freixa are going to need this sort of power from the 4rt but it still paints a false picture of the bike, outdoors the technical side of the sections take care of themselves due to the fact it's natural terrain, I'm not saying they should eliminate all the big steps in indoor trials but at least add enough technical stuff to make the event interesting.
  8. No it's still there, this is the first lap topic, the other is the final.
  9. [Q]Steve] If your trying to say that a section can be designed to give a rider an advantage if he rides a 2stroke over a rider on a 4rt, then there is something terribly wrong here! I have heard everything now! Perhaps, there should be 4rt and 2rt lines in every trial now! ] No sections can't be made to suit a rider or machine, what the **** must I be thinking.
  10. It wasn't dark at 11am yesterday morning t'ed
  11. Amount of time He's spending pratting about and not riding the bike, bloody seat will only need to do the parade. What you need Kinell, is a trial every weekend and one practice day at least from now untill you go.
  12. What do you mean one hand tied behind their backs ?
  13. Is this the desired affect your looking for Kinell, the picture that says it's never too late. http://www.dochemp.com/badchar.html
  14. Well worth the long trip to Yorkshire then, I bet John Lampkin is pleased with the results yeterday, I hear he was there watching his team riders perform and Beta went home with the top three places.
  15. I'm not taking anything away from Raga, the man is at the top of his game, his win in Sheffield had some merit as did most of the other rounds, my point is the lad can win without the sections being tailored to shut the competition out. To me the results look to reflect this. Why do you think sour grapes, Sherco had a great result, and are having the best indoor season to date. As for Freixa being Spanish, this is what he had to say about the sections! [Marc Freixa: It was a trial event that from the very beginning you could see how difficult it was going to be for our new motorbikes. Most of the zones were heads or tails, in other words, zero or five points. We all generally made the same sort of mistakes, as a result, I stress, of the type of obstacles".]
  16. Well the Barcalona world high step championship got the desired results for the Spanish riders. Looking at the pictures the stands didn't look to be filled to capacity either, but like I, they probably knew what the result was going to be before the event started so why waste $ going to comfirm the fact. Unless the events are closer with sections setup for exciting tight competition, and not just to get a desired result for the locals, indoors too will get boring and poor spectator attendance, people don't mind paying to see a good show but they won't cough up for long to watch a procession.
  17. Will this seat come with a foot stool and a TV remote
  18. Our lad rode is 4rt up to Keighley gate and watched the Y&G trial for a bit, he said they had an entry of 200 riders plus, and some usefull riders amongst them, any of you lads go, James L said he was having a good day 2 fives up to that point, one a stall, t'other I don't know but he said he had a steady day.
  19. Kinell, Kinell, can you put some foam on it and mek a bloody seat out of it Must have more money than sense
  20. Neat thing is I just took a picture of the picture with the trusty handy dandy digi cam and posted it on here, quite supprised how well it turned out
  21. Normal bum bag Timp, straps are still on it, so if the rubber band broke you can just put it round your waist, on the sherco the flat bit of plate the swing arm bolt goes through is the best place to hook to when useing it as a seat. Putting it on the tank just hook to the frame just below the radiator.
  22. E we rode reet bikes when I wer a lad, bloody gloves what's thi need those fer thi soft bugger.
  23. Put it in a vice and put a peice of wood against the puck, then blow it out with air, make sure you use just enough, don't go sticking the air hose in and giving it full whack. See if there is any marks on the puck and lightly sand them off with fine paper, the seal should be able to compensate for the bit you take off. Or take all the empties back and buy a new bugger
