  1. Sideup, got me thinking who you are now?????? I put some vertical walls in the sections this weekend give the old 4rt something to go at, and I must admit she had no problem with them. Am I correct in thinking they were the same walls and are you the chap who was wrong sideup on them I'll try and post a pic of them.
  2. "The gem cannot be polished without friction" Aye! thi can't polish a turd neither.
  3. Boof! I think the Kinell training video/avitar is bloody great.
  4. Doug won in 94/5/6. and had no problems riding worldrounds a week or two after . Grimbo can win and then place in the worldrounds the following weekend, also a rider has more chance of getting injured on those silly indoor section than a beckoil in the highlands. Good week of practice might be just reet fer't lad.
  5. Graham Jarvis, tough man to beat round there, will be a great week for the fans watching Graham, and Doug duke it out on the fourstrokes, only one I can see putting a spanner in the works would be Kinell on the two stroke, providing they don't follow him it shouldn't be a problem though.
  6. Not just the U.S. championship, world championship and some other countries looks the same. I know when putting on a National round the champ sections take most of the effort when setting them out, when is it not worth that effort ? 3 riders two?.
  7. This is about number of riders for the 05 series, nothing to do with bike brand. .
  8. US champ riders or pro's as they are called now. http://www.rypusa.com/ I have just seen the news, link above, Chris Florin, has moved to GG, and I'm trying to workout who is on what in the champ class for 05, Geoff GG Chris, GG, Cody Sherco, Bruce Sherco, Sean Sherco. Are Beta, Scorpa, Mont, Fielding any pro class riders this year ? Could I be U.S. number 6 ranked rider on a 157 Fantic . Ther must be a reason for 50% drop in the pro class from last year. Is it too expensive in both time and $ to compete in all the rounds. Are there too many rounds in a country this size. Should there be some insentives for the pro class riders, like no entry fees for anyone riding the class, or some travel expenses shared by the host club and the NATC, ex amount from each entry fee of the support classes. I don't know!! but it doesn't look to be thriving from here.
  9. So if you take the throttle assembly off the right bar and put it on the left, this would then reverse the operation, so one would have to pull to shut off and push to rev up me thinks this would help a lot of riders cause many go a*** way about job anyhow. Bit like the winky w**ky bird, when it winks it w**ks and when it w**ks it winks, son stop throwing sand in it's eyes.
  10. "a mate of mine" got thi eye on a old cow have you Marky.
  11. Marky used to be such a sweet boy untill he fell in with those Jockey lasses, and t'other
  12. Now you mention it! it's probably the biggest flaw in every trials bike ever made.
  13. I see on todo trial, fans of Montesa slagging the sherco carb setup and Sherco fans slagging Mont injection setup. I have no fear about either setup, the injector provides better fuel economy and a system that can self adjust for altitude and climate conditions, most of it's applications are for a predictable throttle increase and decrease, cars and road bikes, these applications don't blip the throttle, shut off quickly then blip again, the CPU must wonder what the heck do you want me to do. The Carb being mechanical doesn't have this problem, it doesn't have a brain, and just does what the brain riding the bike tells it, if your carb is setup correctly it will work as good as and in some situations better than an injector, also until the release of the Montesa 4rt was quite up to the job. Soon we will be able to compare both applications and form our own opinion on which suits us best, I don't know which will end up being the most popular between the two systems for trials, but it's going to be fun finding out.
  14. I rode the bike in traditional stream sections, and thought this would be a fair tool in the ssdt, since this is a gearing topic, anyone know how she scoots along the road? my RTL and TLR were very slow in this department.
  15. I noticed a blocked pilot jet makes them hard to start, good carb cleaning and blow any dirt from overflow/ breather vent tubes. Test for clogged pilot by trying hot start with some choke, if it starts easier with some choke clean pilot jet.
  16. Black wire at coil, green with yellow tracer, ground to frame, if kill switch has two wires. One wire kill switch, black wire from coil grounds on the bars when you push the button, poor switch will often give you a shock when wet, it's hard to press a button that is shocking the sheet out of you, two wire system most recommended in my opinion.
  17. Correct Jay. You had a Montesa, luxury sheer bloody luxury, when I wer a lad I had to ride the SSDT on a rusty sprocket, so poor I couldn't afford petrol so I had't push the bugger all 560 mile, and still didn't get any time penalties, fair chafes thi ass when you can't afford clothes
  18. Right then!! you had a can! luxury bloody luxury, we had get't up 5 hours before we went to sleep after't mill owner had hung us all for not licking oily water off't road, and ten of us had nowt more than a tea bag t share between 20 of us after we got home from a 200 hour shift.
  19. I put Migura, fat bars on my 99 Sherco, you could probably put that tripple clamp on the top, after that year they changed the top clamp so the bottom bar mounts were cast into the clamp. Or ask someone with that year model if the would exchange both should fit each other.
  20. Not that Kinell is a master at his trade, but I have never heared him complain his hammer wasn't big enough. End of the Day, Doug is responsible for his results, and is in a position to do something about it, in the past if he has an off day, at the next event he very often takes the oposition to peices, indoors I think we have seen the final result of the year in the first event. Outdoors I'm looking forward to seeing some Lampkin magic.
  21. Doug, has won the event 7 or 8 times, been top of the game for the past ten years, gets to Sheffield on sat night and the bike supprises him What you been pi22ing about at the past couple of months.
  22. "do anything but sleep because of the brutal flogging we took on the job" Luxury sheer bloody luxury, we had't pay mill owner to beat us to death every night before we started our 28 hour shift, lick street wi toung on't way home to our box.
  23. One lad did make us wince a bit when he dropped his bike, picked it up, gave it a kick and she fired up. After riding a bit Dennis, wound the clutch engagement on the lever in a couple of turns and it did improve it a bit. I picked up on it quick because the Scorpa 125 was just the same for engageing quick or grabbing, and until I bought the BJ Racing clutch mod I found it better to not use it much, the kit consisted of new lever and perch assembly better quality cable and knurled steel plates, the hydraulic mont clutch takes care of the first two, mebe if someone has the time to knurl some steel plates, allowing the clutch to drag more oil up for a smoother engagement, might be worth testing. Spud, I prefer a softer engagement to my clutch.
