  1. Sorry to read that Maria and Katy, had to miss what they have been preparing for all year, best wishes and get well soon, see you in the parc ferme, Perce wants revenge I'm cool I can except my fate Ishy
  2. As you can see Marlintec, we have a lot of school kids who share their new found knowledge with us on TC, shame one had to make a mess of your post on comparison of the two fourstrokes, but my kids scribble all over their books too. I have a question for you, on the Sherco cam it looks like roller rockers , I was told that this type of system follows the cam better and allows for a steeper cam lobe, also less floating of valves at high rpm, I know at high rpm on my old four strokes you could get the misfire and popping, I find topics like this interesting and would like to learn more.
  3. If this rumor is true ? my take on it is the new 4 stroke bike!! a big question was the worlds #1 and two where going to have to start a new indoor season on a new bike against the world #1 indoor rider. The first thing that would happen, people would compare the results and if the Mont didn't do great even when it's a learning period they would blame the bike, or do they ride the 315 and try and get outdoor practice on the 4T when they can, not giving them full time on the bike, again starting the outdoors with less time on the bike than they would like. I think the whole thing is how they can give the new machine the best intro, great solution to Mont/HRC problem would be to have the top three riders in the world on their bike. GG USA pulled the same move getting the top three riders in the US championship and the top woman, two of the riders from Mont, same reasons they moved for a better deal, what goes around comes around. If true the top three riders on the same brand would make for an interesting outdoor season, no holds barred full chat let the best man win
  4. Spain has one day a year same as April fools day, if it isn't today, the source is a good one.
  5. At today's exchange rate 4300 British pounds converts to $7,688 US. To put this in perspective, I also see adds today for new 04 280 pro's for $4700 US. I don't think the COTA will be that expensive, but I also remember the cost of an RTL in 86 @ over 3000 pounds when other bikes where less than 2000. Think the best bet would be to wait and see what the true price to the customer is and not go on hearsay, those who want one of the first bikes out at any cost will probably pay a bit more for that privilege, they did when the 315 came out.
  6. Or I could just look at the picture Nigel posted and say it's a cota 4rt
  7. Indoor section, 30 yards long with dry flat predictable surfaces remaining the same throughout the event, consisting of a couple of big steps that often are the event decider depending on who gets up them on the night. Outdoor section three times the length, can be wet, muddy, in water, tree rooted, and can change many times during the event, more factors to consider when riding the section weather, temp, how steep the hill side is! all the turns could be off cambered rocks covered in mud. The technically hardest way you could ride a section would be no stop, because you have to keep your line and get every part of it right in order to clean the whole section. Being able to stop, correct your line, and carry on with the rest of the section makes it easier for the trick rider, all the world riders are great trick riders, but only a few are great no stop riders, and when this rules was put into being a few years ago, then we saw who the most technically advanced rider in the world was! and still is. Don't get trick riding on the back wheel confused with being a technically better rider, if a rider isn't has flashy or doesn't look to be doing has much does not mean they aren't! often the best sportsmen in the world the true masters look do be doing the least of all.
  8. Well Surge without getting too technical in my response, thats a load of ****e.
  9. That is very good!! I think it shows why some prefer the riding position of the Mont, and some prefer the Sherco, same goes for all bikes, when it comes down to it it's all about choosing the one that suits you best. Good post
  10. The new 4T does it have a name or model number ? 316r, 34t,
  11. See Steve, nearly 200 page veiws since we posted last night
  12. http://www.wlmc.fsnet.co.uk/Results/Result...04/wr120904.htm
  13. A bit more of the whole tale emerges, Is the reason more classes and lines because club and center/regional events are now being set way over the top ? which brings me back to an earlier point it's the section and events that need looking at not the classes.
  14. Bloody hell!! what's it coming too. Next you'll want the obesity line, or isn't that politicaly correct, should it be fat fellows in flat caps Looks like the UK is heading down the same road reading the results of this trial. WAY TOO MANY CLASSES http://www.trialscentral.com/cms/files/Sou...%2012-09-04.pdf
  15. You just about got me to tears with that nice story Steve, but no bugger gives a toss what you did ten bloody year ago, and of all those names you mention with the exception of Sean, they are all off breeding or something. NOW, we can get a bit of sense back in the sport if we want, but that's the big question, do we want!!
  16. When I wer a lad I can see the point the older experts are making Mark, just after T' second world war you had to start in the novice class and earn enough points to move up to the next class, which wasn't too bad has the military had a good supply of BSA dispatch bikes left over, but a good kid took three years to make expert from novice, in fact I think they still do in some countries. Today in the USA if you put this plan in to operation with all the classes one could be collecting the pension before he gets to the expert class. My opinion is!! the kid earned the points that's good enough for me, but then again we are only getting a little bit of the whole tale. Not many clubs have a so called pro class that I know of, but doesn't this suggest that the riders are getting paid for what they do, and in truth only ten pro riders contest the national pro class ? and how many actualy get a wage for doing so?. And of those ten pro riders is it not true that half of them are retiring from the pro class this year? hell it must be good to retire at that age In our local club we have about 8 of us old gits who ride the expert class and the sad thing is we have been for the past 15/20 years, now and again a young un will come along practice a lot and start beating us, learn all about the other sex, then leave us old gits battling for the expert class # one position again. For a sport in which the participant numbers are not growing in fact in some areas they are decreasing, why is it the numbers of classes are growing from club trials to world rounds? To get true competition at all levels of this sport there should be two lines at the most!! an hard and an easy, then depending on the event those lines would get more difficult has you moved up the scale, it's the event and sections that need looking at!! not more classes, or what they call the bloody classes. You could still have three classes novice, intermediate and expert, with the intermediate riding half of each line, that way you would have three different levels of section severity, will this work, W I F, every bugger wants to be number one even if it does mean riding in a class of your own. I have been having a chat with my good bud Lane, and the simple fact is the truth can somtimes hurt so all you old gits out there stop dry your eyes, only when loads of kids are beating us will it mean that trials is on the mend. Bout time things got shook up a bit round here.
  17. What CC is the tork atack and after about four years on the market how many have you seen in a trial.
  18. I have often seen young riders change to become the teams number one rider, I forecast many changes this year, I noticed in the todotrial report on the Sherco they are going to contest the outdoor on the 4T who will pilot it ?? lots of gossip coming up in the next few months as riders chase the elusive $$$$$. Gives us something to talk about
  19. It will be interesting to see who does what when it comes contract renewal time, say (HRC MONT) want a third man would you go for Freixa when some hot new kids are looking better ?
  20. Disc, Nick, what will you be calling yourself next
  21. This weekends Spanish championship round. Fajardo 31. Raga 37. Cabestany 44. Freixa 47. Bou 68. He's been getting close all year and now has tasted victory, will he be the next Spanish world champ ?
  22. No problem other than I would need to get a sprocket with the Mont bolt patern and the lighter gauge tooth cut. I put in an earlier post the wheel was a Akront, when in fact it is a DID.
  23. In the interest of science I went out to the shed to see if the wheel would fit the little Scorpa 125.
