Ringo! how the hell can you observe when they won't let you in
-
I agree Steve, he needed to be in front by a good few points at this stage of the series, the first half of the season had tough wet trials, now the move on to the big dry stuff it does favor Raga style more.
The calls didn't go Doug's way this year and he was beat on most cleans and by the odd dab in a few events.
Tiger Woods, is having the same sort of year and done nowt in major events for the past twelve months, but I wouldn't write him off as over the hill yet!! same goes for Doug, the season hasn't gone how he would of liked but he still is the man to beat when on form.
-
This is what was thought back in Feb, now it's unfolding into a close championship with Fuji in the driving seat, if anyone can come back and snatch the win it would be DL, just needs to stop pratting about and get his ass in gear.
-
Did you change the plug range Vinnie? I got a 125 Scorpa too and it's sooty also, runs fine but wondered if you had any results yet.
-
I think the gearing is fine!! has he says just got to rev the bugger out and it will go.
I'm having a lot of fun seeing just what I can do on it, used ower a tank of fuel yesterday in the back yard, changed the oil, and will give it some more stick today.
-
Got the kid to take a pic
-
Doing a bit of wheeling and dealing this weekend, I ended up with 125 Scorpa that some fellow had bought and didn't like, I'm guessing the bike has less than an hour on it, and being the race model with all the nice parts on it I bought it as the price was right.
Took her out this morning and give it the full meal deal on my own sections that I normally ride on my Sherco 2.9.
After a while I got the message, the clutch is on off and I can't do bugger all with it, so will be calling BJ for the kit first thing Monday.
everything else ten out of ten for the little bike, rev her up and dump the clutch and she will go up owt, suspension felt spot on front and rear both ends really easy to hop, and cos the clutch needs adjusting I rode as much as I could without using it, I know I could ride in our club events on one and it would be well up to the job.
I can't wait for the more powerfull fourstrokes to hit the showrooms, this little bike handle's like any modern bike, I did buy it to sell on, but after a good test ride, I think I'll keep it for my kid when he is a bit bigger, untill then I'm going to ride the heck out of the thing.
-
Does 40 points make it a tough trial? what's the point of entering an event if you don't want to drop anymore than a single figure score.
Providing the sections aren't dangerous or scary for any class of rider, you still need to challenge yourself to the best of your ability or you get to a stage of what was a bit of a challenge, you now won't even consider riding.
-
1. Today does it feel like another day at the office, or are you still as keen as you were in your first championship?
2. After outdoor/ indoor championships, are there any other trials records you have your sites on?
3. In the past ten years do you think world trials has improved for the better?
4. After many years at the top, will you pursue a non trials related career in the future?
5. With marriage in the future would you desire the same for one of your own sons, and commit to it like your own father?
6. Who of the young riders would you tip to be a future champ, excluding today's top 3?
7 Will we see you riding events like the ssdt for fun?
8. What would you say is the biggest factor for your success?
9. Do you see yourself running a team like Jordi?
10. could you answer Kinill's and ringos questions in two words?
-
If you the TC reader could ask Doug Lampkin ten questions like Jake did on the video, what would they be.
Maybe the ten best questions posted could be answered by Doug?
-
Tim, can't help but notice your pictures are taken from a distance, up high and what looks to be from the bushes, not one of them pervy barstewards are you
-
I have not used it on my last three bikes I replace it with a longer peice of hose with a cap on it, the RTL came like that stock.
-
Mebe ready to watch another Mark, has for doing one, more fun dossing at home.
-
-
My boys and I went swimming at the Warm springs Indian reservation yesterday, the whole area is big rock climbs, the water in the pools is from hot springs, nice and warm, big hotel and casino on site, it would make a great place to hold a world round, you can watch some sections without getting out of the pool.
-
You'll only get chucked out for wearing the wrong atire
-
I wasn't there and just going on other posts and what people are saying, so I called the correct man and asked.
His reply was there was some missed calls but no more than other world-rounds in any other part of the world.
Another point was in the US observers don't get to deal with the top riders as much, the WR events are often two years apart so are a little more vulnerable when put under pressure by them on a call.
By all accounts the event was excellent and the location was appreciated by all, don't take this the wrong way SCA, I do think with a bit of effort on peoples part we can improve on the scoring of a ride at WR events in the US, if the verdict is as good as any other world round, then the goal should be we can do better than any other WR, I will volunteer to observe at the next round in the US whichever club puts the next one on, for no payment other than a place to park.
-
I don't know if they use a common temp switch, but I do know that a twenty amp fuse will fit in a five amp fuse socket, and when something goes wrong it fries the job lot.
Why not buy the correct part for the job.
-
Lack of concentration, has he was about to hit the step he was thinking Linda who who's that??
-
In the Doug Lampkin event report from the last world round in Duluth USA, he says he made an error that basically cost him the event, and Fuji, also said he would of made the same error but saw Doug get a five for missing the marker.
In the US nationals and our club events we use markers with arrows on them to indicate which way a class should go round or over an obstacle, they could be one or two of these markers or four or five.
It wouldn't be hard to write on the section start card the number of splits a class has.
All the start card needs is section number and champ class 3 split markers, expert class 2.
Nothing worse than thinking you just cleaned a section only to find you missed a marker and got a five.
Just a thought Stan the van man came up with as we were marking out this weekends trial.

Another angle
http://www.trialscomp.com/images/Fuji_Sec3.jpg
It is amazing both pics look to be spot on the same time
-
That's my whole point, you can't say one rider gets away with it and another doesn't, many would call this a five, some wouldn't.
That hill is steep and the bike is stood up on it's back wheel, how does the bike comeback down without the back wheel rolling back and he gets back on it without moving his foot.
-
Swings and roundabouts, reading the team press reports, Doug, said he was unlucky this weekend making a novice mistake costing him the win.
Fuji said he was lucky this weekend
