Two threes all weekend, nice try son. yer mean old bugger
-
Got to agree with you Nigel, every year I hear this is the one for Raga, when will he start producing the goods, this isn't the predictable back wheel hopping indoors on dry pavement, it's proper trials in mud and not so sure grip, Spain, his home ground a few days back on wet ground the same result.
-
The point spread looks spot on, many riders in with a shot at the podium.

I'm just tired of reading the same rubbish every time anyone posts anything about their bike, regardless of make, anyone trying to solve a problem gets met with "well if you had bought the brand I ride you wouldn't have these problems.
The truth is!! since the seventies only once have I failed to complete an event because of a mechanical failure, and I must of ridden about every popular brand at some time.
Calling any brand crap or whatever doesn't do trials any-good, more likely it will scare people away from trials than make them go buy bike.
Four of us are riding the Scottish together in a few weeks time, all of us are on different brands, what a foolish person I would be if I judged them lads on what bike they rode rather than their personality.

98 had some bad cast kickstart gears, and a tooth would break off, don't start the bike!! if the tooth pics up it could ruin the dummy gear and clutch basket ring gear.
You do have to remove the outer and inner clutch cover to see if it is missing a tooth, and to inspect all the other kickstart related gears for damage while you have the covers off, it's not that big of a job.
Also if it is missing a tooth you need to make sure you get it out of motor it should be in that side, of the motor in the oil, so check the oil as you drain it out.
-
I don't know what thew problem is with you insecure buggers, you seem to know what bike is best for everyone, and it's always the bugger you own, and in reality you know sweet FA.
I put some pictures up for other owners of sherco's, on how I prepare my sherco, if you don't ride one don't go posting childish crap on my topics how you hear this and saw that, I don't want to know!!!

Could anyone point me to an FIM ruling stating what year if any, it will be compulsory for all world championship riders to be on four-stroke machines.
We saw proposals and wording to that effect but nothing in stone reading back to 01 from the FIM press releases, now companies building a new line of machines on a maybe just doesn't sound right to me?
I hear all sorts of conflicting info of 05/ 06 but no bloody facts to back the tripe.

Could read breaking news in Glencoe, number of flashers sighted, not the rain coat wearing Andy kind, but the elusive camera man hid under a rock with a six foot telly photo lens on a Kodak 3 quid one time use camera.
SSDT rider caught in embarrassing moment with a yew, no!! not you, yew! you know what I mean, a pic like that could be worth some $$$$$ to the Sun, or Daily Mirror.
The big money earner would be the chap who can get the picture of Big John, opening is wallet to get the lads a round
Lots of little running round the highlands with the 35mm come may.
-
Boyd, tha always remember the first loves of your life, but it's a sad fact when thi sees them again having ridden them many years afore, by the buggers do look rough, heavy!! and you just can't imagine riding the bugger in the first place.
Dry thi eyes lad, tha'll have one of them new sleek four-stroke baby's soon and the old tramp from years past will mean bugger all.
You could put an add in the singles colum, sleepless in Yorkshire, willing to pay for old ride

And on the bike you can see how it covers and keep the crap from getting inbetween the box and the fender.
Plenty of other ways to skin a cat, this is what works for me with good results, NO WATER OR DIRT IN MY AIR-BOX
-
On the rear fender I don't tape the airbox, I just make a flap like deal to cover that area so it can be reused many times and just comes off with the fender.
-
From another angle, also they put a plastic boot over the intake rubber on the 03 and 04 models, to stop mud and water splashing up from the front, this makes it a pain to try and line it all up when installing the carb and airbox, I, Sheeet can, it and just put a piece of duct tape over the same place.
-
When washing the sherco It's possible to get water in the airbox were the fender runs along side the airbox, this is what I do to cure the problem.
I use door seal a thin foam strip the is sticky on one side, I also add contact glue to give a more permanent seal.

Steve, also won the 86 British world round on 130 or something, now they win worldrounds often less than twenty points, have worldrounds got easier, and if so why are they less riders competing.
Has an average rider I find some of the sections too hard for me in the Scottish, some spot on and a few on the easy side, but I also find I can have a genuine attempt at all the sections, now finishing in the middle of the pack suggest to me since it's a clubman's event it's bang on the money, and entries seem to confirm this.
Looking at it from a top center riders point of view, Hemo, or Thorpe, both could win this event, but making it harder would restrict the chances of winning to world round riders, with the same results we now see in world rounds, only a few can do it.
We still have to see a person clean the event, and the best DL has done is 4 dabs I think ?.
The event was harder in years past for the machines then ridden, and the event nearly went under, I hope the same mistake doesn't happen again, because in this time of land problems I feel once lost it will never be used again for trials.
My opinion is the event is spot on!! don't go messing with a good thing.
See you in the Parc Ferme Sunt.
-
So you will be doing ****ers on tritters
-
This is a pic Andy took from the bottom, probably didn't post it because he wasn't happy with the focus, but it does show the step.
-
Anyhill, 10mm between the tensioner rubber and the swingarm, too tight and it will pull on the counter shaft and could make the seal leak, too slack and it will slap around and come off, but better a little slack than too tight.
-
Thats it!! shoot the buggers, warning, stop, fire bet they don't take short cuts again.
In a few thousand years time they may find another Pete Marsh, on a motorcycle, bet they could also tell you what he was supping night afore he was shot for missing a course marker.
-
Myself and many other riders are there for a good week of trials, thinking about what Joe, top world rider may or may not be doing to beat the other top riders, will only spoil my week, let them sort out that problem, I'm only here for the crack, and I'm sure no bugger will spoil it for me, because they were too soft to ride the bike up the road twenty mi in the rain or whatever, I will do it how it's meant to be done or fail, and feel like I have acheived whatever award I get at the end of the week.
PB, did it cost you the win then??
-
D: reet Kinnel, yer see that little flag afore the pool at the botton, when the gets to that point slip her in third and stall the bugger
-
I think it's good the two young lads trying to beat each other, it's what will make you better riders, who wants it most!! we will se in the next few years.
-
If you have only been riding 6 months, I wouldn't worry about it! next year you can ride the A route and have shot at scoring some championship points.
You have stated yourself that you normally ride the B route and was only giving this a try to see how you could do, don't burn bridges saying you will never ride a trial put on by a certain club, as it won't bother the club if you ride or not, but it could restrict your options in the future.
Ride as many trial as possible that's how you get better, cos that Gav is out to beat you.
