The box I have isn't programmable. The TLR doesn't have the trigger on the cam?

No it's a CDI from the XR200. Top end is 200. The CDI has a mechanical advance. The black box is from a modern pit bike. No Points. Nothing in the electrical system is TL. Only the cases and gears. I filed the oil ring groove an hopes that it would loosen up the oil ring.

Hey Cope, How's it going? Here's the deal, I'm back playing with the 200cc TL125. It has the CDI from the XL200. I bought a coil and "black box" off ebay for a pit bike. Now it looks like I've got a mechanical advance & an electronic advance. Probably explains the popping at about half throttle. Looks like the oil ring was sticking after it warmed up a little too. I hope to get this thing working better soon.

I thought there was a mechanical help section around here. What happened to it? Any how, any one working on these little pit bikes know if the advance is built into the little black box?

Hi Pat, It revs fine, it just won't sit and idle and needs constant blipping of the throttle. It's close but no cigar. I'll pull the carb again. I need to pull the 125 carb and clean it anyhow. I need to play with the Beta carb too. Maybe I'll have one big carb playing day!

OK, cleaned it once, but I'll do it again. I even used my ultrasonic cleaner, but I've seen that happen before. Thanks

Hi folks, Playing with a 250 barn project. It actually starts and runs. However, it doesn't idle. Seems like I need to screw in the idle adjustment but it's already in all the way. Any thoughts?

Biff, I think you got the spelling right. However it's pronounced "SKY' LER" in case anyone needs to call.

We had him on a talk radio show over here a while back. Things seem the same here too. Even some of the phrases such as "spending our way out of the recession" are the same here. I'm just hoping things will turn around, maybe it has to be really bad to wake people up and make them (us) pay attention.

Are you anywhere near Tom Jungst? Personally I'd choose the Beta, for me it's more comfortable and the build quality is excellent. Try to find one of each brand at a trial and ride each one. Different strokes.....different folks.
