Then there is the 2 wars to fund and all the money that has been p*****g out of the country that the Polish have been sending home and not spending here.(even got their own shops) Good for the economy, I think not just another nail in the coffin. But you can't blame them as our wasters did not want to do the work and the government were too soft. Coming back to haunt them now though...... :banana2: Also did you see the British olympic commitee awarded a badge making contract to a chinese firm.......What chance have you got with that sort of thing happening

PS they will not cut VAT it is a lucrative source and boy they need all they can get......No favours.

Don't forget the poles and other non nationals working here, pay taxes, NIC and local living expenses which significantly supports our economy.

In relation to the badge making, the Olympic committee is like a business just like any other. It has to spend it's money wisely and if getting them made in China does that then so be it. Whether it be Xispa's or badges, its business.

Getting everything made in Britain just because its British is not the answer. If we done that then our products wouldn't be commercially viable to sell overseas and that is where the country makes it's money. We must remain competitive on the world markets to survive as an island.

IMHO

Do you remember that great investment the uk funded which only went slightly over budget? I drove past it the other day and can report not a lot of traffic (well no traffic) was heading its way. But what on earth am i talking about?..... millenium dome!!!......value for money i think not. :wall:

Its still Cheap............

The price of Petrol versus Printer Ink

All these examples do NOT imply that petrol is cheap; it just illustrates how outrageous some prices are....

You will be really shocked by the last one!

Compared with Petrol......

Think a gallon of petrol is expensive?

This makes one think, and also puts things in perspective.

Is the dome not used these days? I worked on the steelwork in there on a contract that was know as the o2 casino. I assumed there was a major internal reconstruction job going on, was I wrong?

Atom Ant is working on a hot air propulsion system for his car, he's got an endless personal supply of energy. :D
