Blisters

Featured Replies

Any one got any advice for preventing blisters? I have tried quite a lot of things including chalk. It works for a bit but wares of eventually and then the blisters start.

Try palm savers. Have been using them for years when racing enduro and h&h. Never had any problems with them.

Cant remember make of mine atm but will check when i go out to the garage.

Palm savers and donuts on good quaity grips seem to work really well. Helped me get 3/4 way round the scott without major issues with my hands  . Just need a fix for the rest of the body :bouncy::wall:

endura sports tape is what I use from time to time. Takes a while to get of after though

Back in the days when men were men, rode real Spanish motorcycles in trials and only cissies wore gloves we just used insulation tape. :D

make sure your gloves fit properly,if they are too big they will bunch up which was the cause of my blisters

You'll get used to it. In my experience nothing really works. I've tried bandages and many others. Just wait until the callouses appear and you'll be ok then.

Thought you forces types were all rufty tufty......... it's only a few blisters ;)

I only said thats what caused my blisters, I then rode another 16 hours over the ertzberg course passing doug, graham and taddy to get to the finish and drink 2 slabs of stella, had an hours sleep then done it all again. :moon::moon:

Nails us RAF lads.

I must remind you of the RAF Technicians moto, "we check-in not dig in"

Yes, I would recommend palm savers, they feel a bit strange for the first few minutes of racing.

The tough guys who say grin and bear it have usually toughened their palms up by spending hours in the bathroom choking the chicken!!!!

Has a look in my kit bag and found out that mine are Risk racing. Provides good overall protection for the palms but do not restrict movement.

Highly recommended.
