It's a weird one. It's a technique that originated in a time when, one would think, people knew that "Jap" is offensive.

Thoughtful trialers just say "zap".

its a yank thing that doesnt make any sense. Brits called it a double blip until the Ryan Yank videos came out.

Maybe it originally was called a "Jab Zap" because you "Jab" the front tire into the obstacle and then "Zap" over it????

and it just morphed into Jap Zap because it rhymes?
