June 2, 201412 yr That standing on a ball looks more dangerous than riding the bike!! TLTEL Tried it once, indoors. Cue broken furniture, cuts and bruises....
June 2, 201412 yr Apart from getting generally fit, anyone any recommendations on getting 'bike fit' erm, without using the bike? Winter evenings rule out mid-week practice. Suggested options so far range from mountain biking to yoga. I was wondering if using a trials bicycle would do the trick. Thank you.
June 4, 201412 yr Bare footed, close your eyes... put arms up at shoulder height out at sides (not towards front) and stand on one leg for as long as you can... then swap legs! and then stand on a pillow or thick cushion... foot can't feel flour too well so its wobble city!! Don't crash! Practice makes perfect... I'm not good at it but getting better! Mags

At page 130 - 131 of this catalog are some useful exercises: http://www.offroadaction.net/catalogcorner/_catalogs/offroadaction-v3.pdf

July 9, 201412 yr Make VROOOOM noises too actually it takes quite a bit of effort to get the sounds right... some good (and bad) examples in this video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Jki4OQA5D4 on a serious note, i practice balancing on the ball of either foot any chance i get... in queues, watching tv, doing the washing up. i figure it can't hurt and hopefully might be developing a better sense of balance.
