Largest Trials Bike....

Featured Replies

A few of my mates have been arguing about what is the largest by cc, and largest by horsepower, of all trials bikes, ancient and modern.....

anyone care to enter a few models in the ring???

S.M.

Rode in a LDT recently and one chap was on a KLR 650, does that count?

For a year i was given 2 mecatechno skywalkers, one was 350 the other was ported and rebored so even bigger!

they went extremely well at the hoad british round in butser limeworks

wayne

It's got to be the original 450 Kawasaki. Or Gas Gas did a 370 at some point.

I've ridden a 500 triumph, but I suppose in those days, they were road bikes converted for trials. There's going to be some grey areas among the pre-65 machines I would think.

AFAIK, the Gas Gas was a 330.

Didn't john gaskell campaign a 360 beamish suzuki sidecar, likewise, wasn't eddie lejeune & rob shepherd's honda a 360. What about the ty350 yams?

Andy.

What about Martin Lampkins works 370 Bultaco from 1975?

Had the chance to buy it back in 1982............but

i got a 1947 works norton 500t if you get wrong when you start it, it will break your leg

Gaskell did run a 360 motor in his Beamish sidecar outfit, but that was tame after Graham Campbell welded a 500 suzuki thumper engine into one. This along with Grahams apparrent total innability to see danger just had to be seen!

Yerrrs Dapster! That's a model number, but what was it's real capacity? Mart rode a (real) 370 Sherpa but you couldn't buy it.

What about a Norton 500T?
