Marzocchi Liquidation

Scorpa have just announced that their new bike will have this brand of fork

They might have to rethink that one!

I imagine unpaid Gas Gas debts would not have helped.

Not good news, both my beta and husky hop around on zokes. Better start buying seal kits.

Tenneco expects to record charges of approximately $27 million related to these actions in the third quarter which includes approximately $17 million of cash expenditures.

Damn expensive forks them!

Are the company's problems related to motorcycle related products or MTB? Trials volume sales have fallen dramatically over last 20 years, is it now too small a market to be viable? Gas gas, jotagas, ossa, fantic, bultaco, Ajp etc its a long list.

The article I read around a month ago basically said not enough mainstream manufacturers were using them on their roadbikes etc for them to be able to keep competitive, basically a numbers game. The MTB side had been shifted to Taiwan a number of years ago but it looks like that is closing as well

There seems to be more optimism that the mountain bike forks & shocks could survive. If you look at the Singletrack website there is a statement from the UK Marzocchi cycle importer.

THink part of the problem for them is that a lot of brands have their ''own'' supplier. e.g. KTM owns WP. So you will never get into those markets.

Seems like they have a new owner

''Good news for all trial riders - Marzocchi has new owners and the company will survive! The Italian bankruptcy commission has found a buyer (VRM company). Good news especially for the 70 employees who will all return to their jobs.''

I was surprised when i heard that Tenneco owned them. Tenneco is a huge automotive exhaust and suspension supplier. Here in the states if you have ever heard of monroe, thrush cherry bomb, walker exhaust or rancho suspension you know Tenneco. They are also hydro forming experts. seemed like bike suspension was small potatoes for them.
