Morning all, I can no longer ignore the stirrings deep within that insist that I once again spend my weekends up to my armpits in mud. I find I'm eating the skins of my jacket potatoes and scrubbing them less, I'm volunteering to help the current Mrs Jayzee with the gardening as long as I can fondle the mud, and seem to 'accidentally' trip and fall face first in the mud more often than is reasonable when I'm walking the dogs... ...it can only be the call of the observed section. The mud, it seems, is beckoning me back in! So, who am I? I'm a 40+ bloke from the Cambridge, UK area that has never really grown up. I have been a motorcyclist since my early teens and own an …

Hello all, Just bought a Montesa 315 04 to return to bikes after a 30 year break (I'm 49 and in early crisis)! Now I wouldn't say I've been done but the bike has some issues and I could do with help in these early days - it's not as easy as I thought it was going to be and I'm a bit crestfallen! I guess these are quite usual problems but the clutch only just qualifies to be called a clutch and the bike came without User/Service manuals. Any pointers would be very gratefully received

Hi, I was lucky enough to watch a trials event for the 1st time a couple of weekends ago. It was in New York state near Elmira. I believe it was put on by a club/organization called District 4. Anyway, it was thoroughly enjoyable and I find myself interested in the sport. This seems like a great site to learn about the sport. My background is mostly with roadracing which I've declined to participate in for quite a few years now. I've been enjoying trail riding pretty continuously since 2001. Off road is utterly enjoyable for me and far less expensive. I've tried participating in one HS this past summer and I had a blast. I'm slow but I finished. I hope to do a …

Hi, Terry (Tael) here, been lurking for a while reading up various stuff in an attempt to know what to look for when buying an old twinshock to get back into trials after a 20+ year layoff (Did some in early teens on an old Cotton with a starmaker in that my father had) Just managed to get a cheap little thing finally ( a Cota which was my first choice of bike even before reading up) which I've detailed in the twinshock forum. Love the look of this place, I'm a member on quite a few forums regarding my other bikes but the quantity of useful information and helpful users on here is very impressive. Hope to be able to fit in here and pick a few brains along the way Te…

Hi, I'm Bob from Colorado. I've been into motorcycling for 40+ years, but this is my first Trials bike. It is a '83-85 Fantic 403, 300-Professional. Its in pretty good shape for its year and runs very well. I'm going to need to get new fork seals and tweak the drum brakes a bit, but other-wise its ready to ride. I'll post elsewhere to find sources for the seals, etc...thanks, Bob.

Hi all, I'm new to the forum, recently bought myself a 2002 Montesa 315r, to get back into trials after an eight year break. Rode my first trial last weekend, and it was like I'd never been away, awesome! Also got an old Fantic 200 which is ripe for restoration, that'll be the project over the next few months... Hopefully chat with some of you soon, Ben :-)

Place of living : New Zealand, Wellington PLace for Holidays : France, south West Place where I will die : most probably New Zealand I have both citizenship though I tried to sale my french passport to Oussama, he did not want it ! I am geologist but moved away from being a scientist for a decent job (where at least you get paid for what you do) Anyway, I am 43 in few month, have too many kids and not enough bikes (DRZ400E, Montesa 315R, Aprilia 250RX 1986) I am a crap trialist : I usually use super8 to shoot stuff for youtube (see drdoud, with a Super8 on the ISDE in Taupo …

Hello everyone, my names Pete and after a 25 year layoff, I'm taking up trials again! My last bike was a Montesa 200C Cota twinshock, and I've just bought a 315R and joined and entered for my first club trial next Sunday...! I think I better get some practice in. I've also got an '04R1 which is really a track day tool and barely road legal, though I do use it on the road. And instead of getting bored in the winter with no fun to be had doing trackdays in the UK, I've decided to get back into Trials. I've started modding the bike already and have fitted a OKO 28mm / KEIHIN PHK rep carb.
