Does anyone remember seeing a picture of a monoshock Ossa in the motorcycle news back in the mid '80's. I think is was a prototype that never made it into production. I'm sure it was designated a '303'. I'd like to see the picture again if anyone has it.

I have a 92 pinky mono, the rim on the rear wheel is badly corroded on the inside, as Z spokes are hard to get I want to get another wheel but with traditional spokes. Talon have their own TY hubs(using trad spokes) and could build a wheel for me, the problem is that they are unsure if it would fit the pinky. Are TY wheels interchangeable regardless of whether it's an old TY hub or a new pinky hub? thanks.

I bought an 87' model Garelli 323 aircooled mono today, road registered on a "E" reg and only 3 owners from new and even had the original handbook with it. It's in exceptional condition, but isn't sparking?? I think the points need looking at?? i haven't messed with points for about 15 years?? any one care to refresh my memory on the right way to set them up??? And any info on these garellis would be a great help.

can anyone help me with this? when i apply the front brake sometimes the lever comes right back to the grip other times its fine? when i apply the front brake fully the disc moves slightly sideways? this is the point where the brake lever pulls all the way to the handlebar grip! also it moves slightly when pushed and pulled by hand as in floating? the bolts that secure the disc dont tighten fully right down so theres slight play in the disc bolt mounting holes is this normal? thanks for your replys in advance! Scotty

I posted a topic in yamaha forum asking if anyone knew where I could get the extended arm type clutch lightener for my TY250 but no joy, thought I would try posting it in aircooled mono forum as it seems to get a wider audience. A couple of people suggested making one but I don't have access to metal working equipment. I am sure that someone somewhere must be still make these in a little workshop as so many bikes seem to have them (except mine!) I have just finished restoring my TY back to it's former glory which I posted in the Yamaha forum recently and am looking for the clutch lightener to further improve the riding experience, and my skills!! Any help / contacts …

Besides the obvious disc brake, graphics and I think rear spokes is there much differenc between the TY mono with red frame and plastic tank and a Pinky. Not fussed on the TY with a steel tank. Thanks in advance

Hey All , Got a project coming coming my way from my Buddy's ( whose passed away ) Son , to get the Ol' girl running again . Apparently needs a kick start shaft for starters ( no pun intended ) . Couple questions . Wasn't that a 1987 model and where might be the best source here in the States ? Any worthy mods anyone might be aware of ? Cheers ,

Hi guys, Im having a problem with my 250 yamaha pinky! when say in first gear and doing a tight turn(when throttle control is needed most!) the bike feels uneven ,snatchy, ive cleaned out the carb and jets but noticed 1, the needle at the tip is worn 2, is there supposed to be some sort of surge baffle where the main jet sits (there isnt one on my bike!) it revs fine as it should do at all other throttle openings! thanks in advance!

Now this has probably been debated on here many times but i seriously would appreciate the advice. Some of the local "Classic" clubs dont seem to cater for or want the pre 65 bikes so as they have an air cooled mono class thought i might try that seeing as i'm an old fat git with very little talent so the modern trials are not my cup of cocoa. Seems to come down to TY250 mono, Beta TR34, Fantic 301/303 i've seen a Montesa 309 and a Gas Gas but spares might be a problem. TY250 is probably the favourite as good parts availability and bullet proof but are they competitive against the Beta or the Fantic? Seem to remember they could hold their own in the early 80's but i …
