Results AMA Barber Motorsports Park Climate: Sunny Temperature: 24 degrees Crowd: 30,000 Double Superbike Podium for Duhamel American Honda's Miguel Duhamel scored a pair of podiums in the second round of the AMA Superbike Championship at the picturesque Barber Motorsports Park in Leeds, Alabama. Duhamel finished third twice on the undulating bends of the track which is the most scenic on the American calendar and one of the most challenging. With long, looping bends and near constant elevation changes, the track puts a premium on handling and agility. Starting from the second row in the first race, Duhamel quickly joined the battle for third. He lost t…

Results AMA California Speedway Climate: Sunny Temperature: 33 degrees Duhamel Third in the Championship American Honda's Miguel Duhamel maintained his third place in the AMA Superbike Championship despite a frustrating weekend at California Speedway in Fontana, California. Duhamel and teammate Jake Zemke swapped finishing positions from Saturday to Sunday. Duhamel was fifth on Saturday and sixth on Sunday, Zemke was just the opposite. Both made improvements from one day to the next, but each had their own difficulties. Heat played into Duhamel's fifth place on Saturday. The surface of the track east of Los Angeles heated up considerably, with tempera…

HONDA RACING INFORMATION Weather: Sunny Temperature: 32 degrees American Honda's Jake Zemke celebrated the Honda Summit of Speed by putting the Honda CBR1000RR atop the Superbike podium with a convincing victory on the inaugural weekend of racing at Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, Utah. "It's been a year and a half of hard work and the guys never stopped working and that's what paid off today," Zemke said after his third career AMA Superbike win. "Nobody's lost their drive or their motivation during the whole process. There were some long weekends last year and this year's been really good. Up until Saturday's race, there'd been a Honda on the box every race this s…

It alway amazes me that when you see a collection of ‘superbikes’ parked up, the riders when they take their helmets off are ??? really quite old and probably drawing a pension or two. I have to include myself in the ‘quite old’ area but lucky enough to pass as younger so my other half says....bit too risky to argue! A bike dealer friend nodded in the direction of a Ducati 748 just pulling into the parking area of his dealership. Wait until he takes his helmet off my friend said. Man on Ducati stops, side stand gingerly down and he slides off bike standing all hunched the way you tend to in race leathers. This riders were yellow to match the bike (possibly even the colour…

Just something you might like to check out, the Belfast Telegraph are running a poll to see who is the greatest sportsman Northern Ireland has ever had. Currently Joey Dunlop is leading the poll but it's a close thing between him and football legend George Best. 10. BYRNE AVENGES FIRST RACE DISAPPOINTMENT WITH VICTORY NEXT TIME OUT Shane Byrne made amends for the bitter disappointment of a machine problem ruling him out of the opening race of the third round of the MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship while leading as he comfortably took the victory next time out. That victory, his second of the campaign, ensured that the HM Plant Honda rider left the North Yorkshire circuit as the series leader, albeit by only three points over the former MotoGP rider John Hopkins who took second and third placings on his Suzuki. The opening race was delayed by rain, but the weather changed and the race was declared dry, leaving the rider…

Great racing again yesterday, looks like the pocket rocket will pull it off this year, seems to have moved up to the level required to be British Champ at last. Kiyo looks like hes blown it but still loads of points up for grabs. Greg cant quite get his speed back but I am sure will be mega strong in the last few races and deserves to be in World Level next year. Think theres a good chance the team will go world next season mainly due to Greg staying this year, cant see why else he would have stayed if he was nt promised WSB next year.

Great ride from Crutchlow yesterday to put the Rizla on the top slot at long last . Been quite a few years since someone in the UK has got to grips with the Suzuki even some real big names, and to beat or get anywhere near the likes of Haslam,Kiyo,Greg etc etc is a real acheivement.

Although my main interest is trialling, I'm a bit involved in classic road racing. My wife runs Spencer Racing, running bikes mostly with the CRMC. Over the last few years our 1967 Suzuki 200 racer has won the CRMC Classic Ultralightweight Championship 8 times. This season we'll be putting around 15 bikes out on track, mainly in the Junior Production class with Yamaha 600's. We're fielding a couple of bikes in the Aircooled 500 class too, both with the CRMC and BHR. Also running a couple of Honda 125 racers with a new class with BHR. A bit more info' here... www.spencerracing.co.uk

American Honda riders Miguel Duhamel and Jake Zemke go into Saturday's Daytona 200 race aiming to give Honda a third consecutive victory in America's most prestigious road race, a record as the first manufacturer to win three 200s on the bounce. The two riders will be equipped with the latest version of the CBR600RR that carried Zemke to victory last year and Duhamel the win in 2005. Duhamel 38, from LaSalle - Quebec, Canada is chasing a record breaking sixth win in the event. Currently tied on five wins with fellow American Scott Russell, Duhamel is a strong favourite of many to use the CBR600RR power to dominate the race but Zemke has tasted victory at…

Kenan Sofuoglu (Hannspree Ten Kate Honda CBR600RR) leads the world into the third round of the World Supersport Championship after an astonishingly effective start to the 2007 season. Having won one race and finished second in the other, he now enjoys a seven point lead and further proof of how effective the 2007 CBR600RR has been in its first season of competition comes from the fact that third place in the rankings is occupied by well-known championship challenger Katsuaki Fujiwara (Althea Honda Team CBR600RR). An unlucky and occasionally dramatic start to the season by 2005 and 2006 champion for Honda, Sebastien Charpentier (Hannspree Ten Kate …
