My sons birthday is 24/04/96 , to save you doing the math he will be 16 in April. Would he be able to ride as an adult when he turns 16 and would he just get his license changed from Youth A to an Adult? Or are you a youth till the year ends of the year you turn 17.

The new online licence or trials registration system is now available from the ACU. When you join a club, the Membership Secretary will give you a unique number to prove that you have joined a club. Go online HERE and you can bring up your details using your licence number. Check and amend as necessary your personal information and put your unique number in the space provided. Pay by debit card and your licence will automatically be updated and you will be instantly emailed to confirm the payment recieved. This weekend - 17/7/11 - only 6 riders on the Championship course, 8 on the Expert course and 39 starters on the Clubman (Exp B ) course. . Is it about time the championship was put back on to a National courses? 1 lap x 40+ sections. No practice lap. No Minders. Only one chance to ride the section. What do you think? Would your Club be prepared to run a British Solo Championship within your National? If so go to your Centre meetings and get a proposal to the Trials & Enduro Committee. The ACU are looking into making licence (registration) applications easier and putting them online. The one real stumbling block is how club membership secretaries sign the form prior to submitting it to the ACU. Having recently moved from england to scotland I was just wondering why there is such a big difference between the ACU/SACU trials registration? Is it due to numbers?? as there is obviously more clubs/riders to spread the cost south of the border or is it land policy? or something else? I must add I don't mind in the slightest paying the fee as it works out at less than a meesley £1 a week. Also how do the enduro guys manage to charge £40 for an event when us trials guys manage it for £10???? again I really appreciate all the work everyone puts in to all these events im just curious (not in a gay way). It has been bought up in another thread that some of the observing at the recent Stratford-Upon-Avon clubs Colmore cup was questionable. Comments have been made following a short video clip taken at the last section of the day where a rider, may have stopped briefly but was still only given a one for dabbing. You are Clerk of Course and is running a combined youth and adult trial. There are 12 sections to be ridden 4 times. The youth and adults all start at section 1. After approx. 90mins the secretary of the trial is approached by a rider under 16 in tears in fact he is terrified. After settling the young rider down the rider complains that he has been verbally abused by an adult rider. The secretary has directed the rider to you to deal with. A road based trial with 20 sections and 2 laps. Each rider has an individual start time. All the riders started at the correct time. After the 2nd lap has started 3 riders (riding together) get pulled by the police. He informs the competitors that until he has checked all the bikes they cannot leave the scene. The ACU are having an open trials forum to allow riders or clubs to discuss any issues which they might have. Excluding British Solo and Youth Championships, (which have their own seperate forum), any topic can be put forward. Personally I am interested in the whole issue of Risk Assessments, but I'm sure that there are many more points that could be covered at this forum. Any suggestions? Pete

Coming at this afresh, I cant help but notice that the ACU gazette could be updated a little. A commendable update on the website, however could i please make a plea for a key or glossary ? Those that know, know, but those that dont find it really frustrating to find out. Entries such as CR, RI, RR, are great if you know what it stands for, but all i want to know is can i ride in it or not? I noticed when reading the minutes of an ACU board meeting that an official preparing an Enduro in the Langdale forest received a "Section 59" Notice. Now they were there operating under an ACU licence which I presume means they were also there with the Co-Operation of the land owners. the Incident is discribed thus. Langdale Forest Incident Mr Willoughby had reported on a recent incident that had taken place regarding a Work Party of six riders on bikes in the Langdale Forest preparing a course for an Enduro event. I'm posting here because I assume they are published by the ACU. I thought that when you received your ACU license that they also sent the little booklet with the calendar of events in your centre. Apparently not, so my question is where do I get one? I don't want to be critical here because I really appreciate all the work that the local clubs and organisers do, but planning ahead for trials can be so difficult (I know I'm not the only one who has a busy schedule). Usually clubs post their trials on the TC calendar which is great, but sometimes it's only a week before hand. Hi. I've recently taken up trials along with my 15 year old son. He fancies a beginner competition - I'm not so sure. We are memebers of a club so - can we just turn up, sign and pay? Or do we need an ACU licence? Any help would be great Chris

Hello All in UK Don't really know where to post but assumed that some gasgas rider would know. Last rode trials in 2002.. instantly stopped due to injury.. about to start again. What's the current postion regarding trials licence. As just giving it a try for a couple of trials to see if injury now OK. Can you get day membership of ACU for riding a single trial. Don't mind paying club membership fee but not too keen on paying for a licence I may only use once or twice. Thanks
