I have just purchased a 2011 Gas Gas 250 Txt pro and wondered what were the standard settings, in terms of the number of clicks, for damping and rebound for both front and rear? It doesn't mention anything in the manual. I want to start with the standard settings, try the bike and tweak accordingly. Thanks!

I have just cleaned the carburetor on my 2005 Gas Gas TXT 125 pro and did not notice the "groove" in the needle valve when i took it off the carburetor. i am pretty sure it does not matter which way the "groove" in the neddle points to but i rather ask my fellow members here at the forum. So must the "groove" in the needle valve point towards a spesific direction? The carburetor had quite a lot of corrosion/green stuff inside because of the needle lifter and the 2 floats. Checked the floats for any holes but the floats are the white plastic type and you can see if any fuel is inside the floats. I did install to floats the correct way with the "tip" on each…

so after a huge rebuild of my bike I still have 1 very annoying issue ... however .. my question is … is it an issue or how it should be ? I cannot select neutral easily when the bike is running. I have done the following: New Clutch basket New Primary Drive gear New plates etc and Pack measures 9.80 mm Fingers at 17.00 New gear oil - putoline light gear oil Clutch lever adjusted with 3mm of free play and piston returns fully. Fully bled with new mineral oil (defo no air) Clutch lever can be pulled in with my little finger, tiny amount of drag / push when in gear and clutch in. Have I done something wrong or is this just the way i…

Gas Gas Txt Racing 125 2015 weak spark and cutting out - Hi Guys could some one please give me some advice on the specific values on the Stator Plate, Coil, Pickup etc I cannot find a Diagram for this Model nor the gas gas Workshop/Technician Manual ( the one you can normally buy) so im stuck as I have done various testing but have no Values to compare to? Basically I got the bike with low compression and dirty carb etc I cleaned carb it started after a few kicks but once warm became hard to start? I changed piston rings which improved compression greatly, but then became even harder to start and then once warm would just simply cut out and not restart until cold. wh…

Hi all newby here so be gentle ! As title, 2003. 1st trials bike, project mainly for off season when I can't get on tarmac tracks... Bit of a dog at the moment and trying to make it half reasonable bit at a time to be able to use. Main thing was rough running, had the fuel system apart to clean, tank, carb, replaced/cleaned all filters and pipes, all jets, fuel tap etc. (Compressed air available). Whereas before it wouldn't run without choke or idle and still rough it now runs sweet on the gas (once started) but won't idle. Mixture screw 3-3.5 turns out, running screw appears to make no difference. Quite handy on the tools but lacking the knowledge . Any sug…

Having issues with my neighbours 2006 250 TXT Pro. Can only get 1st, N and 2nd gear. Some times after it's been going for a while 3rd is available. I've changed the selector spring and top hot. Next on the list is the ratchet selector but is there any guides on how to replace this or is it easy to get to? Also does it sound like the adjustment screw would solve this?

What are the signs of a chipped idle gear tooth? The clutch is awful noisy and goes away when the lever is pulled in. Also, when kickstarting the lever seems to skip a tooth every now and then. It's around the same point so I'm assuming it's the pawl gear slipping from the idler gear. I pulled the cover and the pawl seems fine but I can't see the back of the idler gear to know if it's chipped. I must be too hard on this thing. It's one thing after the other it seems!

Thinking of the fact that most of the engine is the same on the TXT Pro series i wonder if i can fit a 280 cylinder and piston on my 2006 Gas Gas TXT 250 Pro? Reading in the owners manual/parts list for my 1998 TXT 321 cc it looks like parts are the same on the 125 cc and up to the 200 cc use the same parts except for the cylinder and piston off course The 250 cc, 270 cc and 321 cc also use the same parts according to the owners manual/parts list

I wonder which brand of coolant my fellow members here on the forum use on their Gas Gas trial bikes? I see that my local Gas Gas parts supplier use GRO ready mixed coolant on the picture below. Since i have coolant in the garage for my all aluminum engine on my Mercedes SL, R230 (the coolant have a Mercedes part number) and also another type of Valvoline coolant for my Blazer ZR2 meant for aluminium engines i wonder if i can use these types of coolants? I just checked and found the Valvoline Max Life coolant which is the typhical red coolant ment for aluminum heads -- engines so can i use this coolant? Thinking of the coolant for an aluminum engine…

So I have removed the clutch pack to asses the horrific clutch drag and found the pack to be 10.20mm .. have ordered a new unit to eradicate this .. However ... On inspection the large clutch gear has uniform groves on 1 side where the plates meet, but looking at a new image they arnt there (See pic below). would this add / worsen the drag if the plates twist and stick in them and should I replace the unit? Sorry if the terminology in this is incorrect. Thanks Steve

Hi I am looking for a bit technical advice. I have been finding when riding between sections and putting the engine under load that it is smoking a fair bit and stinks of burning oil rather than 2t. I am assuming that my oil side crank seal has failed. Does anybody know if I can replace the seal without a full strip down? i.e pull the sealout with a self tapper screw or something? Gasgas uk say I cant but i'm sure I have seen it done on one of the models. If I can replace it without a full strip down would most people just replace the failed seal or do the flywheel side as well. Thanks in advance for any help. Gra.

My kickstart shaft seal keeps coming loose and leaking transmission fluid. I'm not sure what the deal is. It's a new(ish) seal and has consistently done this - is it normal? It happens when kicking it over. It's almost like the kickstart shaft has some play and it's wiggling the seal out. Any ideas for keeping it in there? Some silicon?

i have a 2011 gg 300 txt pro and the suspension feels like mush. Took it to my local suspension guy and he said the Sachs rear shock is not made to rebuild. Do I need to get a new shock? The bike squats so low now it won't even stay on the kick stand, it tips over.

The chain tensioner on my 2017 Gasgas Contact was not moving as well as I thought it should, so I took it off and cleaned up the pivot and applied some grease and then had such a good time getting it back on the swingarm. As far as I can tell there is no simple trick to installing the spring. Google did bring up a nifty tool Jim Snell made to make the install easy, but takes a bit of welding and grinding. Also some older TC threads talked about using zip ties and I finally used zip ties and made a handle to apply leverage to one end of the spring, and removed a linkage bolt so I could get the tensioner in position. The spring needs to be compressed, and is not easy to do…

Im recently purchasing a gasgas 300 txt pro 2005. The bikes piston has gone apparently along with the rings. Ive looked at videos of top end fixes on motocross bikes on youtube, but wanted to know if trials bikes are any different. And would i need someone to do it for me or would it be easier to do it myself?
