Gas Gas

  1. Started by Joe1,

I have recently bought my first bike, a gas gas txt Pro 125 06. It seems to be making a knocking noise when running as can be heard in the video. This is filmed straight after it has been started from cold. I have seen other videos of bikes making a similar noise so was just wondering if it is worth worrying about? Cheers, Joe https://youtu.be/VtRyl_wjqwM

  3. Hi, my son just bought the above bike, we went to practice today and it was fine , when he went to get over something bigger it bogged, badly..I had a go and when I wound the throttle wide it bogged like the brakes were on. We went back to the van for a head scratch and fitted the quick action from my sherco ( white tube, one that came off was black ). fixed !!! now I am glad it is but I cant for the life of me see why. We tried everything to make it bog again and it wouldn't.. any ideas ? cheers

hi. I've recently got a txt pro 250 and have had nothing but problems with it I'm kind of clued up to a point on bikes and I'm now stuck. the bike when trying to idle is high so I turn the idle down and then the revs start jumping up and down. it was running but popping upon messing with the fuel screw I've managed to stop that but when revved the bike stays revving for a second or two then goes down it then cuts out and looks asif it ain't getting enough fuel but adjust the fuel screw any more and it bogs and floods the bike I've cleaned the carb many times and the air filter my next course this weekend is going to be taking the top end of the bike apart and regaske…

  5. Gents, I've got a 2013 Racing, hasn't done much really - but the rear linkage has now got some serious play in it! Do you tend to change the bearings only? Or the bushes and shock DU bushings aswell? Thanks, Scott

So. There is a Problem with my "new" gasser. The clutch won't properly, if at all, disengage. Even when warm. If I pull the clutch in and open the throttle I feel a little bit of slipping but it still almost accelerates as if the clutch was out. I changed the oil recently to some (inexpensive) 10w30 mineral engine oil but there was no change. The adjustment screw on the lever is adjusted to the max but it just won't disengage. Would be very glad if somebody was able to help me with that. ?

  7. Hi all I don't trust thermostats, so iv hard wired my fan on permanently on my 1996 jtr270, it works fine at idle and low revs with good air flow rate , but when you give the motor a good rev up the fan slows almost to a stop, and then starts again as the revs come back down to idle. I'd would of thought the fan should spin faster with more revs??, but hay atleast it works lol. ? Any ideas?? Cheers

Hi, Went to start my gas gas txt pro 2014 today and it will idle very slowly but will not rev? any sort of throttle and it just fouls the plug and pops back through the exhaust, no rise in revs. All I did was wash it, oil the chain and give it a coat of wd40 then put it away. I have cleaned the carb checked the stator side for water ingress and tried a new plug, nothing makes any difference. It idles really slow and seems to be missing a firing signal eg fires, misses one, fires again etc. The only thing I can find that alarms me is the sealant around the cdi box is showing a gap. I'm wondering if water has got in. It's perfectly dry now though, the damage may be don…

  9. Hi there, Following catastrophic blowout of cylinder head O rings on my 2001 TXT 280, I have replaced O rings, drained and flushed what was left of coolant, stripped and cleaned carb and air filter and reassembled with O rings correctly seated and correct torque settings. Now it doesn't start. On first kick it tries for a couple of fires then dies, then nothing. Spark plug and piston head covered in chocolate-milk-y gunk. To me that suggests the head is warped as fuel is getting through and mixing with coolant. I am happy to have a go flattening the cylinder head myself before splashing out on a new one but before I do, anyone have any ideas of anything else I need to che…

  10. Probably best to start with the pic.... Gear Oil Sight Glass Looks like its emulsified... OK when its been off for a while, looks clear before you fire it... normal or some issue? Not losing water, maybe has a crank seal leak on clutch side... apart from that...?? Thanks.

Hi i believe this bike is a 2004 txt 280. I have no spark and tested between the light blue and dark blue with a reading of 326ohm. The stator has a G2 marking if that makes a difference. Also the casing has a decent amount of corrosion similar to a boat anode. any input or suggestions what values should be and if this is even the correct stator for this bike? Thanks in advance

Gets real dusty, here in the riding area, and my 2017 Gasgas seems to get a lot of the fine dust into the airbox. I blocked off the intake from the front, and cut an opening in the top lid, and made a baffle under the hole. So far it is reducing the amount of dust that enters the airbox. Art
