Sidecar Trials

For those crazy folk who like to strap another person to their bikes!

  1. Started by laird387a,

When there is sidecar trials action in prospect there is always a risk of a threat from Manx crews - here is a selection of them, spotted at the recent sidecar championship round at Fellbeck. Photo; Offroad Archive

  3. Hi Guys , We would like a few, if possible, Trials outfit's used in the sixties, to come along to the Classic Trials Show, to go on show, or the owner could even ride it in the Sidecar class if they wish, there would be a prize for a bike that was built and used in the Sixties. One with a Kendall chair would be good , or a BKS. If you have a mate who owns one let me know. Thank's Regards Charlie.

  4. Started by twinshock giles,

Does anybody have any experiance of what modern kids bikes are capable of pulling a chair, i've seen a couple of TY80 outfits in the dim and distant past but i've no idea of what a modern bike would be like with a chair attached. Thanks Giles

Just got back from a very dry DK Mansell. Round 3 of British Sidecar Championship. The event was back in the area it used to be run in over 10 years ago near Church Stretton and I thought it was a good move. Sections were sensible and hard enough to sort out the winners but nothing stupid or dangerous Experts Jon Tuck / Matt Sparkes Beta 15 Robin / Gill Morewood MRS Sherco 16 Robin / Sam Luscombe Montesa 28? Sad to hear of Donald's passing. He was one of the huge influences in getting me into sidecars many moons ago. A true Yorkshire gentleman! Sid & Dick's sidecars are just a good memory now. I hope you find a good passenger where ever you are now. RIP. Trev.

\For anyone interested in regs for the Lakes Sidecar Trial which is a round of The Luscombe Suzuki of Leeds British Sidecar Trials Championship. Please note that regs and entry forms can be downloaded from Trials Central Calendar but the e.mail address of the secretary is incorrect. please use shaungregg52@yahoo.co.uk or sarah@greggsarah.orangehome.co.uk or you can get them from the idiot who posted it incorrectly in the first place, namely me. mick.wren@virgin.net Thanks Mick Wren

Have seen a few outfits around using 09 gas gas. How easy is it to fit the chair to the new small diameter frame of the bike, and is the frame up to the job. the bikes seem excellent but do feel a bit dubious of the bike frame for a sidecar.

The Eboracum Motorcycle Club of York is holding a two day charity trial on the 17 and 18 April. For the first time in many years the event will include a sidecar class. I will be there on my JCM outfit for it's first competitive outing. Would be great to have some competition so we can judge just how poor we are! Details of the event here - https://www.acu.org.uk/events/April-2021/Eboracum-MCC-of-York/Trials/Moor-Farm-Ouseburn-ACU60240.aspx For those who don't have an ACU trials licence, one day licences are available. Message me if you need any more information. All proceeds go to the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
