I dont think it has turned into that ,the acu are a necissary evil in some peoples eyes (mine included) but i never doupt those hard working peoples efforts, but it seems if you so much as raise a point they dont agree with you are a heritic.... long live the ACU.......

Did you pay your own way to the european meetings ,, Expences is a big word at the moment,, You still seem to think you can tell how much a person rides from there veiwpoint, do you drive a car????? if you do then you are a hobby motorcyclist. I have never driven a car and dont have a car licence,so i doupt very much you have riden more than me (bet that supprises you) i have riden a motorcycle evrey day for nearly forty years i have owned 70 of the bloody things and they are my life ,so part timer I HAVE RIDEN MORE THAN YOU ,PROBBABLY MORE THAN ENEYONE ON THIS SITE,but i dont presume that and will gladly shut up if someone can beat my record ,I think i have got a right to coment

if your bike conforms to yorkshire classic rules it will be pretty well accepted anywhere , they even require a rear frame loop.. Most clubs just say it must be in keeping with the spirit of the origionals ..CAN OF WORMS OPENED.....

one of my good freinds and riding buddie is just braking on to the national scene but as he is from the west country he like most other country cousins is often over looked in the wright ups, even when a freind of mine was british expert champion he would have less columbe inches in the weekly than the third and fourth placed yorkshire rider,I canot see what the happy answer would be maybe the new real trials series should be southern ,non connected riders only ,leaving the trick ,sponsered,paid,PROPPER trials boys(northern) to have there own stop for an hour back up have a cup of tea ,quick snooze foot ,elbow ,hand ,head on the floor,but get a clean sheet trials by themselfs... But what do i know?????

You are entiteld to your opinion as is everone else, We are talking about something that is already broken not my opinion its a fact, I am totally sure john gives 100% to his work but not everone is a rules and regs person,lots of people not just me think as trials riders we do not get all the support or backing we could from the acu,but that is a totally different subject,just because people may not agree with him or the acu doesnt mean there opinion is rubbish,how can you tell how much envolvement someone has in trials by there opinion is beond me,I for one will not slag him off ,but if he thinks world trial attendance is in anyway a guage of my involvment in trials as a rider or helper then he must be a verry clever man John i bow to your superiority..

I do ,i ride a triumph 500 twin ,a fantic 240 twinshock, and a montesa 4rt, I will always have a ride most weekends ,or observe,its all fun to me and its not my championships that are up the spout,we are talking about the problems and looking for answers,On a good day i can still beat a few young ones ,BUT I WILL NEVER WEAR A LYCRA SUIT....

After my post about the return to no stop lots of valid points have been made.. There are definitly two camps trials riders and trick riders. Is it time for a spin off /new style of trials ????? you now get extrem endoro H&H , cross country,time card ect. The motocross boys get supercross and regular. Is it time we had a new breed of trials championship???? Lots of peole will say we have classic champs and indoor ,all valid points,but there is no champs or series wich caters for ordinary blokes on modern bikes ,I hope this will change under the new rules ,but do we need a new champs for the kids and hoppers,I think they have it now but not many bother to ride... Imagine a seperate series you could run in a car park or arena ???? the young ones would love it,instead of having a seperate rout for school boys have it for the trick riders and lump all the people that want to actually ride fairly against the terrain a real no stop trial and put the hotties in the car park,they could stay clean (clothes and scores) that would make them really happy , we could all get muddy and have a laugh.sorted//

Just remember as with all hondas,change the oil regularly and they are bullet proof. 4RT is fast aswel even on standard gearing but you may need to look for some sort of seat.

several people have said it is matching the rules to the sections, if you lay out a flowing section you will naturally ride no stop,The rules were only changed inthe first place to suit the few gifted riders that could hop,I understand that all the new lads can do this now because thy had the bikes and rules to let them do so ,I watched kids yesterday while observing that lost marks because they where trying to hop, if they had just ridden the section they would have been clean.. They will learn to hop soon and then say the section is to easy ???? its catch 22, Trials was always about reading the terain deciding on a line they gasing it and going where the bike took you . Does it really do the sport good to have minders shouting instructions all through a section,and riders balancing waiting for said instruction? I bet dougie could ride just aswel without mart.

I think you will find the rules used to allow it from now on(for a while at least its back to no stop)I could say the same about you hotties are you saying you dont want to learn propper trials ?????

Lets go one better and be allowed to get off mid section and have onother look, or fit stabelisers ,Stopping is cheating allways was allways will be,look first then RIDE the section

I sustained a back injury during the week so i was observing today ,no one asked me for any money Why should i pay to watch dougie,he is being paid to ride ,Dont get me wrong i think all the top boys are fantastic,but why pay to stand in a feild ,I love trials and i wont do it , so someone with a passing interest is no way going to. KEEP TRIALS NO STOP AND FREE TO WATCH.

Dabster i tried to answer you question but could not quote it for som reason, I stopped going to the wtc when you had to start paying,probably early 90s wales ,myther up dowllais quarry,jordi on the beta.
