  1. Easy Trial = Full Entry ???? Hard Trial = Only a few Hardcore young Guns. Its not rocket science. In the "Day" it was a hobby, a good cheap hobby that anyone could join in....
  2. One of the "Baker" boys , me thinks
  3. Been down exmoor then? Thats a well sorted bike.
  4. Low quantity production bikes, and bikes designed predominently for off road use are already exempt from many regs, so they will be exempt from these (you would hope common scence was used) But noyhing would suprise me.
  5. Oh and it was 212's that I used (Fantic wise) as the 250 motor was to sharp for my liking, just a picky old git I suppose. No pleasing some people
  6. Andy M, that piece of film made me feel much more happy about the pick up, you can clearly hear my issue, the motor sort of buurrrppps into life, If majical Mick is happy, best I get used to it.. Good tips jon, but as I said the bike has been Very Well put together, with lots on new old stock, and a brand new mikuni carb, Think its me being picky.
  7. Think I will just ride it more, I dont want to upset the grip finding abilitys, I Just put a brand new tyre on, that always makes a bike feel better.. like I said, its not that I am un happy with the power it just feels very different, Sometimes people who have ridden a model for a long time can put your mind at rest. The general handling is fantastic, Time will tell.
  8. Its not so much "modern power" I was hoping for, Just a bit more feel, It will pull second in a stiff section no probs, but allways "feels" like it is just starting to Bog. The bike is very well set up, but still soft, almost too soft. In first just feeling for grip its fine untill you want to give it a hand full, and it feels like a slight delay. But hey ho a change is as good as a rest...
  9. Been riding Fantic T/S' for ages, and have a TY 250 mono that seems to work just like a modern bike, so imagine my supprise when I got a really nice majesty 250, wich seems as flat as a pancake, spoke to a few Yam boys, and was imformed they are all like that?? well are they?? Dont get me wrong , it seems to climb anything, but you have to hang on and wait, not confidence inspiring. How does yours go????
  10. 32mmx1.25, should do the trick
  11. I always use Castrol 747 at 50/1 it says no leaner than 40/1 on the bottle, but I have used it for years, it smells like castrol R. Fantics ran on 2% even the filler cap should have an oil measure built in, the twinshocks have the mix ratio embossed on the outside.
  12. A tiny amount of Vasaline around the O ring will help it seal, and dont over tighten the screws, over tightenihg is as bad as leaving them loose.

    Stator Plate ?

A mate has ignition woes, suspect a primary coil breakdown, will a 201 stator fit a 245 ?, dont want to strip the little one down and find its different.

    Help, Lee Harris

Just stuffed a tissue in the hole and parked on any slope i could, had some mates so waited with them in the que and popped off for the bike just before my turn, would of burnt it out if i had to keep it running. See you next year , or Dartmoor ??

Hello old chap, as you saw i knocked my kickstart off on Exmoor 2 day , cant remember what else you said to change, got a return spring and shaft . is it worth setting a bronze bush in the outer casing, there is quite a bit of free play ?? Hope you enjoyed the trial

    B40 Help

Just managed to get a nice GB motor, but it has no clutch, covers, etc Has anyone fitted a belt primary ? pref with electronic ignition.
  19. Could be as simple as a bent selector fork, or missplaced shim. Or as bad as a champhered gear broken teeth. check the selector first , but its always worth having the motor apart to see if anything else needs doing. And remember if something has fallen of ,its gone somewhere.
  20. Bob wright in Weston -s-Mare will have them..

    Fast Eddie

Looks like the big BUSINESS "ACU" have scuppered any chance of six days glory "AGAIN", the trials and enduro commitie seem hell bent on profit not results, how many times do we see this . ANY SELECTION should go on preformance , not following stupid criteria.... I feel sorry for Fast Eddie , having met him a few times, he is a top bloke . its alway politics with the ACU jobsworths... The americans seem to have the AMA and they look after everone, why oh why do we have so many federations and factions allways "INFIGHTING".
  22. Armoured wellies from skrew fix
  23. Top tip buying off the us site. I was going to buy one anyway, Looks good..
  24. Think they are getting to expensive to smash up. I seldom ride my Triumphs, prefering my Fantic for both the fact its what i grew up on, and the ease of obtaining spares... Lots of the pre 65 bikes are a bit special now, and the sections have evolved with them...
